The PT1911 is a good gun, but I have owned two guns from Taurus and in retrospect, they both were crap....nobody has better customer service than SA.....I have owned 3 and out of the box they have been perfect...

I don't disagree with anything that you have said, but I am not sure you can justify the cost of a piston AR for civilian use.. A good quality AR will probably never malfunction under his conditions.....mine never has....not once.

The GI is a great model to start with, and it is easy to upgrade. I added the Wilson combat beavertail, trigger and magwell myself and I am no smith... This gun was easily the most accurate handgun that I owned until my TRP...

I have a Kimber currently back at Kimber. I also have a Colt and a Springfield Armory. I like the Kimber, but if I were going to purchase another 1911........SA all the way.

I am not a Tea Party fan....I don't like uncompromising people, and they fall into that catagory...like many others. Having said that, the Tea Party is being blamed for the impass that lead to the debt ceiling crisis....and the subsequent credit rating downgrade.
