yes...dime city is where i got them, however they are back ordered, but only till mid june so two to three weeks. the 32mm is what they had specified for my particular bike...although i did email Herm way back when i first got the bike and asked what worked for my setup, and he said 32.

Im glad its an extra long weekend...i can actually get some stuff done to it.
Downside...im all outta monies to do anything too big, like paint
-
its is back...
Before
After
Wasnt terribly dirty before...except for front sprocket there...just really pitted.
electronic ignition...hopefully will add some reliability to a 35yr old bike

Tranny--ill have to get back to you with what ever model it is. I can say, its an automatic with the on the fly shift for 2high, 4high, and 4low if that helps.

Bought it before i graduated from school thinking id get a construction job since i had a construction degree...things didnt turn out that way. Now i drive 50+ miles a day for work and hardly ever use it as a truck should be used. I need a daily with better gas mileage.

If i can sell my truck for what im looking for and find a beater daily...ill be first in line with cash.
-
Im still missing a big piece...aka the engine. I was told that it should be done this week, but this week has come and is nearly gone...so i dont have my hopes up on seeing tomorrow like id like.
I plan on finishing it...might sell it to fund the next project (bobber), all depends on how attached i am with it once its ride worthy.
-
as is?...DEAL...lol
-
Turn signals i was talking about...
Not sure how well they are going to stick...might have to gorilla glue them for back up
-
Surprised how quick it got to me...never ordered anything from out of country before.
-
Got my brake lines in...went with some goodridge dual lines to eliminate the crossover stock gsxrs have. These ones are blacked out stainless with black banjos...70 shipped from Chinook country.
-
Yes...shocks were from fleebay. I had measured my old shocks and got some that were an in longer...just cus I didn't want the back to look like it was sagging. Eye to eye shocks are more common to find than eye to clevis...I guess you can say I got lucky. If I didn't first d these I would have got some custom length ones made by race tech...they have tons of options.
Boretech hasn't given me a final price yet...but he does specialize in 350s. Ill pm you a price and work he did when I hear...I bet its more than I antisipated.
-
thats the idea...but with a 5 3/4" light
-
Terrible luck...thats my worst fear is damaging my bike by my own hand.
I hate those ramps...too skinny and steep. I got some from costco cus they were cheap...but useless imo.
-
perhaps a bit too classic for what im going for...im thinking something a bit smaller like a old style buell flyscreen or duc monster screen.
ive got some extra fiberglass materials so maybe ill make something tomorrow...and after all the experience i gained from making the tail section (LOL)...it should be a sinch.

The bike is looking pretty damn nice so far. Every time I see your updates, it makes me look harder for a bike to start building one with.

Here ya go...time to get started...lol
actually right down the road from me.

Made some brackets...Got the speedo mounted along with the light...they essentially mount together off where the stock gixxer ignition screws to the top clamp.
I do not have a welder so my brackets are quite simple and just bolted together but they work...atleast for a mock-up.
As you can see in the last pic, i cut the ring that housed the ignition so i could position the speedo better. i will still need to clean the cuts up however.
All in all im very happy with the vapor thus far...and i havent even gotten it hook-up.
Also, i think i might try to make some type of cowling to cover the wires and and opening above the headlight.
-
possible mounting location...
also trying to mockup headlight...
i love the grill

...aslo, master cylinder is in, seems to be in good shape. need a fluid resi and some brake lines. Put in an offer on some goodridge lines off ebay for 60bucks, that are priced at 70...well see if the sell takes. The lines are the dual lines from the master and not the split lines at the lower triple tree. Ive read that these give best feel...i just thought theyd be easier to route.

Engine is mounted...
HOWEVER, i got issues
...First, where i have the pegs mounted wont work because one is too close the the primary and wont clearance...Solution, relocate to pass. peg mounts, no biggy.
...The real problem is the petcock in their location dosent clear top of engine...bungs are welded in and tank is sealed, no way to relocate petcocks.
Possible solutions: Thinking of coming up with or finding something to screw onto the bungs with a hose mounted to it and have a fuel cut/off farther down the hose. essentially how you connect a garden hose to a spigot.
-OR-
Try to find another smaller petcock...though i doubt there are any small enough
