Keto/low carb diet worked great for me before. When I tried it last year, I just couldn't do it anymore. I would eat a big steak, some salad, veggies - a good amount of food and walk away with my stomach growling. It just wasn't satisfying anymore. That said, I've recently cut the number of carbs I'm eating but nothing like before. Last time I was eating <40g of carbs per day (subtracting out the fiber).

I eat a lot of fat.  That's what keeps you full.  Lots of bacon, butter, cheese, avocado...

  2. I'm down about 18 lbs since the beginning of the year. 10lbs of calorie counting, which sucked, and 8 lbs of keto diet, which is awesome. Keto diet has been giving me way better sleep and also cleared up my skin. I did it originally as a test to see what my distance running would look like, but it's done great things for me so I will probably stick to it.

  3. Longshot, but I'm thinking about doing a track day on the 15th and I would love to find a cheap set of leathers that will protect me but not break the bank, in case I don't have enough fun to keep doing track days.....

    GoPro knockoff for $26

Shows $43 but apply promo code AMSJ8CUZ at checkout for under $26 final price.  I bought 3!

Video examples look good and other specs are decent.  Not sure how long this code will work...

I bought one of these and tried it out. Very pleased with the purchase. Went back to buy more and the code doesn't work any more, but they are still on sale for 50

I'm really trying not to laugh. You and the bike ok? Can you blame Howard for it?

Smushed my ankle a little bit, but nothing serious... might have chipped the paint a little bit, but no biggie.  I laid in the yard, reached over and hit the kill switch, laughed at myself, called Howard and asked him to come help me.

All the riding that we did, the gravel, the deer, the uneven pavement, etc.  I dump it in the driveway

  6. Change of plan for me.  I hiked about 2 miles down lakeshore trail and it was ok, but not great. The views were ok but the flies kept landing in my eye.... which is weird.... after 4 of these guys I decided it was time to turn around.

So now I'm on the Appalachian trail heading to the top of Shuckstack mtn.  I'm pretty close to the top and have cell signal.  Should reach the top by 1:30 then I've got probably about an hour and a half back down hill.

Mostly reporting in here because @timtheazn scared everyone away and I'm alone   ...or everyone else came here to ride motrcycles. .. one of those.

  7. Hiking in the general region of fontana dam today. Thinking I'll hop on the Appalachian trail then hike part of the lakeshore trail.  Probably about 6-8 miles total depending on how interesting the trail is.  If anyone wants to join me, meet down at the store at 10!

    *edit

@Blitz I typed this tag and my phone won't let me delete it now.... I was talking to Shannon about hiking with them last night, but we didn't finalize any details. My plans are flexible if they still want to hike today I would be happy for the company!

@OsuMj what is your inseam?  I purchased a pair of Street & Steel (?) mens jeans from Cycle Gear but am always in the market for riding pants, especially if they fit well.  I fear the A* pants will end up as capri pants on me. ☹️

I don't know exactly, but I usally have to get at least 31" and try for 32" when possible

*edit* inseams are listed in the link! Mine are 31"
