I already bought beerfest tickets :-/

I can see you and earache's (and i'm sure many other people) point of view on it.  I also think it's somewhat arguing semantics and taking things a little too literally considering what it is, which is harmless team spirit and pride for something they are a part, even if in the smallest of ways... whether it's because they're alumni, a resident of columbus, or ohio, or even because they have family that live in Ohio, or they live in a Big Ten college area, or whatever remote connection imaginable.  I don't think people are claiming any responsibility for the win, I think they're basking in the reflected glory.  We do it during Olympics, World Cups, or even something small like a family member graduating or getting married.  People get enthusiastic and proud for things that they had little to no impact on all the time, and being proud of your school making it to the finals despite many set backs is no different.

 

Again, cranky old woman, but I've always just thought it was kinda weird... I also don't really get the importance that people place on sports.  I just remember my first quarter at OSU, OSU lost to Michigan and people's moods were effected. People were sulking and at least one of my teachers was visibly upset the monday after the game.

 

Anyway, go bucks!  I hope we win!!!!!

That always gets me a little bit when people are bragging about how good "we" did. I'm always thinking, I wonder if they think yelling at the tv from their sofaes them part of the team or something. I heard some lady at Kroger practically yelling about how "we" just won even though we had our 3rd string quarterback. I don't share the same sense of pride in a football win bc I know I have literally had nothing to do with it. On that note though, I do hope they win bc I dislike how bummed out people get when they lose. More than anything, I hope it's a good game. I appreciate the entertainment of watching a competitive game more than walking away with a win.

Jbot, I'm getting cranky old man vibe from earache although it appears I'm also giving that same vibe off.

Well, glad you're coming down with or this time!

Anyone have room in a cabin? Was thinking I might head down with OR this year. Last year was my first time down, and it was awesome. But I missed all of the OR guys. 2015 I'm going to make up for it hahaha.

 I learned a lot and we camped out a lot and even did a 5 day appalachian trail back packing trip.

My mom put me in girl scouts at my request when I was little.  I was excited bc I had some friends in boy scouts and they did awesome stuff.  My troop (or whatever) sat around and did crafts and sang kumbaya.  I learned how to make a stamp out of a potato, very useful tool that has gotten me very far in life *so much sarcasm*

I just signed up for the Deer Creek sprint triathlon... Its not a resolution or anything, but should be fun to train for.

Idk why I thought of this today, but I was curious how the pictures turned out.

I can get random lunches going again soon.  It fell to the wayside because I was pretty busy finishing up school and whatnot.

I would love to help out with a big fundraiser too - sounds like a nice challenge/project.

I use Sony Vegas software... cheap enough and it does everything that I've needed so far!

I "ran" 1.8 miles today... 10 min miles, but I didn't stop.

I bought an hp 2000 from walmart over a year ago.  out the door with a 3 year warranty for $330. Its good until I try to do video editing or data processing programs, then its a bit slow.

OK This is Rob. Remember how you followed me home after setting me up? Parking a block away in some ones driveway? You pulling a knife on me??? Me letting you into my garage after catching you snoooping around my garage and after the knife? Then me getting really pissed off about the whole thing and you running from me? I do! I just found this whole thing out by going to drive over an hour away to pick up a cell phone on Craigslist. I get there, then they say sorry we cant sell to you go steal more bikes. Wtf??? So theres that and splattering my info. I needed the frame for a totaled project bike that took me 2 years to piece back together. I do not deserve this slander. I am a fellow enthusiast!
