  1. This is not true, banks are private property. They have the option to post or not post just like Walmart. It is just a simple trespass if asked to leave and you refuse.

Better double check that, I was under the same impression for a while. It is my understanding that there is specific wording for "financial institutions" or perhaps FDIC insured banks, etc. I never bothered to double check since I firmly believe it is better to be judged by twelve than carried by six, but I am MUCH more careful not to show my piece in a bank now.

  2. On a similar note, I worked at a (really) shitty company that tried to create an anti-gun/anti-weapon policy that prohibited weapons, even while in your car, on their premises including the parking lot.

They also tried to say they had the right to search any vehicle brought onto the property... we refused to sign and said we'd park down the road and walk and/or quit.... it was almost half the developers in a company <100 people

I'm really sick of this type of behavior.... I understand having rules to protect yourself.... but someone who is going to break the law/rules is GOING to break them. A sign, a rule, a posted message is NOT going to change that.... what is it going to take to get that message across?

For the record, an Ohio company LOST a lawsuit for wrongful termination last year for firing a concealed carry holder over having a firearm in his car on company property. The courts ruled that he has a right to defend himself between work and home and that the car constituted his own personal property and therefore the company could no more punish him for his firearm being in a glovebox than in a drawer at home. Win for us!!

As for the signs I say two things:

    1. Don't give them your business, that is usually my solution. I have complained loudly enough and with enough people that several area business in my home town removed them.

    2. It is a CONCEALED weapon... they can't hassle you about what they don't know you carry, so don't let them see it and there is no problem. (Ousley, you asshole....lol) Besides, unless it is government property (i.e. a business) then it is only TRESSPASSING to have a gun there. All they can do is tell you to leave and not come back. If you don't refuse the lawful order to vacate, then you can NOT be prosecuted in any way for violating the sign. (note: to reiterate, this does NOT apply to government buildings and anywhere serving open containers of alcohol, and banks, instant Felony land there....)

  3. I dont understand all of your expectations. You want to rip the twisties...but what speed limit is acceptable? some folks can 'rip the twisties' at triple digits. i dont see why you're setting an acceptable speed limit. you're going to break the ohio speed limit law obviously....so why are you stating no triple digits? if others want to speed and you dont...see rule 3 below.

Here's the rule of group riding...

    1. Faster riders, whether skilled/safe/experienced/squid in the front...

    2. Do whatever you feel is 'safe'...just keep your distance from others in the group so you only kill yourself...no one else.

    3. Wait for the slower riders at any intersection where a decision is to be made.

Other than that...there are no rules when posting a ride on a public board.

+1 Enjoy yourself, keep with the group in general, no collateral damage. What more could anyone want in a group ride? (besides boobs, damnit)

  4. Hey Tbone This is omega9763 off of Shadowriders.net' date=' I think I said Honda North west Is your best bet. What is it that you need done?? I can do most anything to the bike you own, as I have the same one Heavily modified. I built mine! Shoot me a PM with your specific ?'s.[/quote']

Listen to this man... I have seen his machine up close and it is gloriously hacked, chopped and modified. (anyone who hacks up an old springer front end to dress up their Honda is my kind of crazy) Plus, he gets extra points for doing all the dirty bits himself!!

  5. why the guy think we are assholes, and why he dont give you ride back to your bike?

did you wear your pink helmet were you seat back on that shadow?

LOL No, Rusty, he didn't think we were assholes (well, he might now since he has met me....) I was just making a joke on the quality and over all attitude of our members, myself included.

And he DID give me a ride on the shadow, which is how I plan to ride in the next pride parade. (assuming I can borrow your pink helmet... hehehe)

Dude on the Shadow was really cool about it. Didn't even look at me funny or make any homo jokes at my expense. I figure he must have been too busy balancing an extra 200lbs way high on his center of gravity....

On the bright side you got yourself a new boyfriend! Just wondering you spit or swallow lol

The difference between like and love is spit and swallow.... If you really want to show you care, put a finger in their ass and cup the balls too... just roll them around, roll them around...

What did Cinderella say when she got to the ball?? "Guuuullllk! MMMMMFFFPPT!"

  6. handkerchief.

    BWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!

No, really man, two things about bikes that never look cool. 1. Helmets 2. Your face after it meets the curb. Just wear the helmet, if you are like most of us the goofy look just distracts from how retarded you look with it off. (Ok, that jet fighter helmet DID look pretty cool.... I wanna put the Top Gun sound track on my MP3 player and go rock that bitch down the highway 80's Tom Cruise style....)

  7. So, I go to run a quick errand in Canal Winchester and my ride home got a bit interesting. I am getting onto RT 33 to head home and as I hit fourth gear my clutch cable snaps. No more clutchy... So, I did what any rational and sane human being would do.... wait, no, I did the other thing and went ahead and rode the other 25 miles or so to Westerville in hopes of getting parts at the Pony.

I make it to the Rt 3 Exit on the North end of 270 rather uneventfully and exit, but the old girl didn't want to get into neutral whilst moving and I was dealing with some sketchy traffic, so I just parked the bike at the bottom of the offramp. (too the side, of course) I make a few phone calls and I am contemplating the next leg of my journey when another biker comes along on his way to the Pony and offers to give me a lift for those last two miles or so. I can tell you that Shadow 750's look and sound cool, but never, EVER should you put a 6 foot tall dude on the back of one. (not just because of the gay factor either)

    :supergay:

So the pony has my cable, but while the dude is getting my parts he asks me about the Ohio Riders decal on my helmet and in the process of explaining what a bunch of assholes we all are, I find out that his coworker is Born Sinner's brother... (smack your brother because he works at the pony and I still had to tell his coworker who we are....) :slap:

The last bit to this story is just about me hiking back to my bike all by my lonesome, fixing it on the side of a busy off ramp, and riding my happy ass back to Obetz. (did I mention the 40 pound backpack I was humping through this whole bloody ordeal?? or the fact that motorcycle gear is NOT meant for hiking in the fucking sun?) It's all man sweat and grease, so I will let you all just ad-lib it as you see fit. :violin:

    Cliff's notes:

    1. Cable clutches suck my sweaty balls.

    2. Riding without a clutch is easy, until you need to get moving again in traffic.

    3. Honda Shadow cool if ridden alone, or with SMALL passenger.. NOT with me on the back. (Thanks for the ride, dude. Sorry everyone in Westerville thinks I'm your girlfriend now...)

    4. BornSinner's brother sucks at PR and recruiting. (is this the part where I get banned??)

    5. Riding gear does NOT double as hiking gear.

    7. I can't count.

    Thank you.

  8. Since I am half deaf, generally wear a full helmet and with wind noise to boot, I usually don't hear them say much of anything. However, my GF has been known to beat on me or pinch my legs when I do something to piss her off. (or just to get my attention, or if she sees a shiny Porsche she likes or....grrrrr.... )

She didn't like how I was cutting close to the curb turning into a parking lot yesterday and decided to steer for me... That floated like a lead brick... I turned around, stuck my finger in her face shield and gave my best "No, bad puppy!" but she just smacked me again for not watching in front of us while I chided her. I can't win.:nono:

  9. Yeah, it is sorta true... Listen to Recon though, NGK Iridiums may be the best plug on the market. Better to feed them with a hotter coil/ICM, but they are worth the extra cost any day. A great plug vs a shitty plug WILL give you better efficiency and thus more power. What any given manufacturer claims is a completely different story.

  10. Holy fucking shit. I try to get the scoop on THE MAN and all his dirty doings, but what I end up with is 20+ pages of a "who is the biggest ass-hat" contest. I must say, I don't think I ever saw someone with less than 100 posts and a rep that negative... good job you fucking newb. You can apparently run from choppers, radios, police cruisers and the law in general, but that damn OR rep is kickin' your ass....

And who makes threats of violence via electronic media?? Moron, that is called "evidence" and where I am from we learned not to leave any of that just lying about...

  11. Hell, I am free and hungry... Weather looks pretty good too... count me in. Been painting the Suzuki frame and I want another coat of prime and to start the final, so unless I get too stoned from paint fumes to ride a bike I should be there. (respirator for the win...)

  12. Normally I would give some dispensation for talent, but I never really cared for his music, nor am I aware of any positive benefit he had on the music industry. (once again, I generally hate pop music and as far as I can tell that and dozens of little boys are all he ever really affected....)

Mostly, I just see one more rich pedophile off the streets. Anyone but MJ would have been rotting in prison the last few years instead of living a life of luxury, I can't seem to find any sympathy as a result. Rot in peace and good riddance to bad rubbish. I am only glad he was almost bankrupt at the end, perhaps that tainted his joy of being a free pervert on the prowl just a bit.

Anyone getting sore over MJ bashing should catch a clue and realize that even if you appreciate his musical talent, he was still a very bad sort of freak. Talent is no excuse for making an ass of yourself in society and someone should have put that dog down years ago.

  13. i love the sawmill ua dublin area

I just moved from there, between Sawmill and Riverside... Fucking beautiful area, very nice place to live. Lots of trees, quiet, convenient shopping and freeway access.

Only reason I moved was because I went from an apartment to a house with 3 city lots, 2 car garage, outbuilding and full basement... I needed the space more than the cushy living. If you can afford to live in Dublin, and it is convenient to your work, I would definitely recommend it!

  14. Welcome to the club, at least you didn't look as stupid as I did!!! +1 for wearing the gear, one more reason to always wear your lid, even when just going down to the corner... Glad to hear you were not hurt, scars are just tattoos with better stories.

    Edit:

So, Mr. nemo/xfader here had negative rep when this thread started.

    And now it's all green.

So, do you get cool points for wrecking?

    (Just an observation)

    Heal up mang.

I imagine the rep jump is for not being a silly squid and wearing his gear. If his rep was negative before, then perhaps this is just a sign that he pulled his head out far enough to see daylight now. :)

  15. North end and both Northern corners of 270 are nice. Especially Dublin, Upper Arlington, Westerville and Worthington. South end is mostly hillbillies and white trash, with the ghetto sandwiched in between. This is a very broad and generalized assessment, mind you. Exceptions are to be expected and I could list several off the top of my head. (look up Clintonville, German Villiage or Bexley, all gems among the rough....)

I have lived in Northland, Dublin, Westerville and currently reside in Obetz. Nice and quiet here, almost like home. Lots of inbreeders and rednecks, but nothing I can't handle, and they are pretty tame "city" hillbillies, not like the really scary ones that fertilize the corn fields with outsiders...

Hospitals: Grant, Riverside, St Anns, everyone else. In that order. This is debatable also, but less so. I have experience here... Grant is where you go on LifeFlight, best trauma team for many, many miles. Riverside is a great hospital for heart/cancer (they have McConnell Heart Center now, thats what you get when you save the richest man in Columbus from heart disease...) St. Anns is close on the North end and not incompetant.

Nursing homes, I only know about Willowbrook facilities. They are tip top, but expensive and religious. Also, I know the administrator of their largest facility. (my Mother)
