  1. I see that - removed the Avons from the list - too bad now go back and edit the quotes, heh...
  2. yeah, I goofed, it's a 190/50r17 rear - editing that... botched the front size too
  3. OK, quick and dirty research: Available 130/70r17 Front tires Bridgestone Exedra Dunlop D220 Metzeler Sportec M3 Supersport Metzeler ME880 Marathon Kenda K671 Cruiser Front available with a 170/60r17 rear Dunlop D220 Metzeler ME880 Marathon Bridgestone Exedra Changing to a wider rear Metzeler Sportec M3 Supersport (190/50r17)
  4. I kinda like the RoadSmarts... but... I do notice the traction transition between the compounds when cornering. Not really used to that happening yet. Yeah, it sometimes will slip and jump sideways. But not often. Any of the "hard center" tires will probably do this.
  5. Yup, figured that... oddly, they show high ratings on websites. Stupid internet... edit: I just buy Dunlops, so all the Dunlop haters will hate me...
  6. Found Bridgestone Exedra pairs in those sizes, but the rear might be discontinued and hard to find. Looks like the Battlax rear is the option. Dunno about that. edit: Iron Pony shows the Exedra pairs on the website also. Be aware that there is both an Exedra radial and bias ply. The bias ply isn't in your sizes, but fair warning.
  7. Dunlop D220 was a stock tire on some of the Meanies. Iron Pony shows them on the website in your stock size, and might have them in the store. edit: They show both the front and the rear tire. Give them a call and see.
  8. I bought one. If they reach the minimum, that is. Everybody buy one.
  9. I also have an opinion that HP computer factory software setups run a ton of HP stuff that is just not necessary or needed.
  10. Retired tech here... slow and freezing up. Basically it's off doing something else. Something it probably should not be doing. Or it's doing something legitimate wrongly. Backup data, even if the hard drive has to be removed and usb slaved to another computer to do so. Start with a full hardware health check of more than one type if possible. The built in systems diagnostics at boot is a good place to start. Check fans and temps of cpu and hard drive(s). Run separate hard drive diagnostics if there's any suspicions. Occasionally, unplug everything inside the computer except boot drive and see what happens. Swap and/or remove RAM around to see what happens. (Bad RAM if reversed in slots will blue screen instead of running slow. Or vice versa.) Full clean first and then anti-virus scan. In safe mode if necessary. Ccleaner. Malwarebytes. Superantispyware. Again, usb slaved to another computer if necessary. Check Windows Task Manager for Performance, it's probably maxed out. Then check the processes, sort by cpu, to see if it shows itself. Right click on it and end process or end process tree. Not a permanent stop. Not a permanent fix. If the culprit(s) can be found, research and figure out what went wrong. Or remove it. Also check event viewer for any clues that might be there. Alternate is to boot diagnostics mode with processes shut off. If that works ok, add start items back on each boot till it malfunctions. Again, research and figure out what went wrong. Or remove it. Can also be done in reverse, start with normal boot and remove one process with each re-boot. A tech that remotes in can't normally fix stuff like this, unless something shows itself right away. (Dozens of re-boots.) I typically set these up on the side of my desk where I could keep an eye on it, and ran it for two to twenty hours looking for cause. That's the basics, but attention to clues while doing so, might be necessary to actually find the problem. edit: and yes, sometimes the extent of damage or effort required results in re-imaging or installing an operating system to wipe it and start over.
  11. For parking on a slope? on a hill? lol...
  12. Lazareth LM 847: Maserati Engine-Powered Motorcycle 470 HP, no need for a transmission...
  13. I had the TSA Pre for a while for domestic. Really liked it, till apparently someone decided to charge money for it and it's gone... edit: Looked it up. Now $85/5 years, application, fingerprints, interview appointment and documentation. And.... there are ways to get reimbursed for the cost. Mostly certain credit cards, particularly corporate cards like American Express.
  14. Do not wear white tennis shoes. Not done in Germany. They only wear those for sports. Skip the T-shirts with slogans on them. This stuff just tags you as American and foreign. Learn some basic German if you can find time.
  15. Also note that the buses require a pass/ticket before you get on, and you must not lose the ticket while on board. No mercy given to tourists for that error. Germans are punctual, always on time. Especially in Berlin. Do not be late anywhere. https://www.berlin.de/en/public-transportation/1772016-2913840-tickets-fares-and-route-maps.en.html
  16. Since I've been there... In no particular order: German Museum of Technology Berlin (Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin) http://www.sdtb.de/Home.623.0.html Memorial of the Berlin Wall one of the original checkpoints is still there, worth seeing if in the neighborhood I did wander through the aquarium, and two of the four museums. The museums are close together, and the best brat I had in Germany was from a cart in the courtyard between the two. The Persian exhibit was impressive. Altes Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie, Museum für Islamische Kunst, Pergamonmuseum. Places to relax: Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) Television Tower Downtown area, nice to wander at night if your hotel is nearby and if you can get up to the North West, the Luftwaffe Air Museum http://www.mhm-gatow.de/en/ I missed it, and really wanted to see it. Just didn't have enough time. I didn't see much of the stuff in the old DDR (East Germany). Wasn't interested in that. Misc: Eat a brat or two. Kabob on a stick from a cart. Schnitzel. Beer. Berliner style flavored Weisse. Only found in Berlin. More beer. Summer white wine. Hookers in East Germany at night (sight seeing tour bus). Nude parks in Berlin. Even a pool in a hotel is likely to be nude. I stayed at Radisson Blu Hotel Berlin. Walking distance to the Wall and museums. And the tower downtown. Best souvenir: Just to the East of the Radisson Hotel, was a little strip mall of shops. One of the souvenir shops had little diecast models of East German Trebant cars. Red and blue, got one of each. Found out later that they are rather rare and hard to find, and actually worth something.. Note that everything closes down at night, except the bars and hotels. That was my impression.
  17. Yes but, at the current methods, at the high end, a lot of tax breaks and deductions open up to reduce the tax liability. Not many of us make it there. Only the top income levels get there. And it requires a lot of business and charity investing and creation. So basically the cash flow is still intact back to the middle and lower tiers. But directed by individuals instead of the national government. Times change, people used to do charity and business by free will. Now it's mandated. Take it away and where does it go. Free will might go the other way, and it's gone. We aren't the same people, society, and not the same government. Just thinking out loud. I don't have real answers.
  18. Disregarding possible spine whacks I've had, my entire left side wanted to be numb or tingle at odd times. Hands in particular. I started taking 1 milligram B12, (1000 microgram) daily, and it all went away. doctors had no clue. B12 deficiency, I suppose. You never know... Over age 50, your B12 should increase 5x. Minimum 50 micro. 100 micro had a strong effect. 1000 micro kicks. Cheap fix.
  19. Yes, also noticed a lot of re-loading gear back in stock and on sale. It's getting there, slowly.
  20. The bulk price of copper and lead has dropped, the fear has faded, new munitions factories are on line, and everyone is stocked up. Prices are finally falling... Will be interesting to see how far the bottom will be.

I learn something new. The area overflown by the Russian aircraft, is the Hatay province of Syria, that declared independence in 1939 and aligned itself with Turkey instead of Syria. On Syrian maps, it probably shows as Syrian territory. This also means, if Turkey gets involved across the border in Syria, they risk losing this Hatay province back to Syria, with Russia's help. Russia still wants some payback. Note that if Turkey attacks, that would not invoke NATO rules. They're on their own. When Turkey invaded Cyprus, same deal, they were on their own. http://rudaw.net/english/middleeast/turkey/12022016
  22. I avoid all "cheese food". Won't buy it. Prefer real cheese. But honestly, Krogers brand cheese is not very good. Not something that I would normally buy. But not surprised at the change, it's slowly getting harder to find real cheese and not cheese food. I would guess that a lot more money is profited from the sale of cheese food.
  23. Yeah, English is a pitb language... 3 Aug 2008 is when I joined. Not to be read as when the forum began.
  24. 3 Aug 2008 - I worked with Casper AKA Satan, when he was developing the website. I started looking for a new motorcycle about then, and it took a while to find what I wanted. It was Casper that found the motorcycle that I bought. I don't think I joined till after I bought that motorcycle, despite the two old motorcycles I already had.
  25. The right to property is a change of viewpoint in early America. Previously, elections were only for people who owned property. Only they could vote. Changing to that everyone has a right to vote, recognized that everyone has the right to own property. There is technically no "right to own property". It's complicated. In part it's from the American and French revolutions, and the French declarations of both 1791 and 1948 recognizing the rights of all people. Which recognizes "the property of one's self" and "the labor of his body and the work of his hand". Everything else is just politics making promises they can't keep. edit: Differing view points on property ownership and who should be allowed to own property has been part of a few revolutions and civil wars. In short, back when we had Kings/Queens and the general population, "laborers" were not allowed to own property. Europe, Latin America, and Africa have specific proclamations about rights of property ownership by any individual or group.
