  1. Even a van, mini-van, or SUV will have these blind spots. Anything that the driver sits up higher. Smaller blind spot, yes, but with a little lack of attention by the driver, it's the same blind spots. http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/graphics/english/dandv/driver/handbook/handbook_drivers/2-10.jpg
  2. Ok, there wasn't any oil fuel or gas at that location. That was a false report last night. BBC is showing that it was an area of shipping containers and vehicle parking. Shipping transport. Also a building storing hazardous chemicals where the explosion happened. A 3 ton explosion and a 21 ton explosion. A 3 ton explosion can knock you down from the blast wave at a distance of 2 miles. http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/6C08/production/_84865672_china_blast_624_v5.png
  3. In one of the other videos taken from somewhere closer, you can see a fence/wall of concrete panels thrown into the air. Early reports said explosives stored there. edit: In a shipping container. It's an fuel and gas tank farm. Bad combination.
  4. Actually, used to see Ferraris in downtown Columbus. There was a place nearby that would rent them. Didn't have very many, and since that place is gone, I wonder if this is the same guy that owned that place.
  5. Not seen him. But have seen a replica kit running around. Not the real thing, you can tell by the sound of the engine, heh.

  7. Guess there were a "few" wipe-outs. Not sure about the full gear when swimming. http://www.techly.com.au/2015/08/03/robbie-madison-insanely-surfs-big-waves-on-a-motorbike/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDi9uFcD7XI http://cdn0.techly.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/robbie-madison-650x459.jpg
  8. It's been a good year for spiders. They are everywhere. Oddly, a lot of unusual species. Had to lay down some chemical warfare.
  9. Last time I fixed a bad signal/noise, it was a buried coax down in Florida. They traced it to confirm, and dug the line out and replaced it. Corroded connectors, or something. Got wet. All connections degrade over time.
  10. If it will stay funky for long enough, run a DOS tracert to find the bad location. Give them that IP address. Typically they act up in high and low temperatures. Might have to ask for dispatching or an engineer or something, they seem to know more about the equipment.
  11. Cabela's was well stocked with 22LR this morning. I guess the shortage is finally past. How many years? Grabbed some Winchester 40gr HV. That will probably go first. Well stocked on other ammo also. Saw a deal on PNW 300BLK 147gr range.
  12. Somebody is still running Flash bits? I dropped that when FireFox blocked it. Mine was already blocked anyway. But no more running Flash for a while till Adobe fixes Flash. If....
  13. That part about housing has been around for a while. Several states already take part in distributed housing. The power of the Fed is the threat of cutting off funding to the states. So at some point the states will just refuse, and take care of themselves without outside help. Not sure which ones, but some states have done so or threatened to do so. That threat has real power, if it's a state that contributes more to the Fed than it receives. Good intentions aside, tactics like this threaten to break the states apart. And begging the question, won't this result in local governments, corporations and lenders doing the same thing? To either police their own house or to enable their ability to hide? We create our own monsters....

  15. Having had a lot of smaller bikes, I'd jump on a CB500F anytime. 500cc was the minimum for long distance "back-in-the-day". Always found that anything smaller simply freaked out when pushed down the road all day at road speeds. A 300cc is more for around town and a few occasional road trips. I will admit that current motorcycles have more available power and durability than way back when. Would I buy a 250/300cc? No, I won't be going back there (unless it's a dirt bike), but most of the 500cc bikes are attractive. In the end it's what will be comfortable. Try them on for size.

I thought reasonable thoughts about them, until a co-worker got a lemon from them. It went back and got fixed or replaced, but it was a hassle and cost money to do so.

Drop ship from grabagun.com in Texas to FFL of your choice. Lowest prices I've found anywhere. Usually free or $2 shipping. On-line only, but at least you can check and compare rock bottom prices. Low prices, but good luck finding popular items in stock. They go quick. The lowest price 1911s sometimes have to go back for lack of quality control. Somewhere higher priced 1911s are a better choice. Remington-Rand made more 1911s in WW2 than Colt. Springfield made 1911s prior to WW1. Many (if not most) current 1911s are forged frames and slides produced by Imbel in Brazil. edit: quick history of mil-spec 1911: http://coolgunsite.com/collectors_guide.htm
  18. Honestly, if you don't already use your brake light to communicate with cars/trucks/bikes behind you, you're doing it wrong.
  19. Suddenly reminded that the old bikes didn't even have a front brake activated brake light. Only the rear. Suddenly remembering that the rear brake is used to show brake light. Suddenly aware that situational awareness is important, and too many riders won't look behind them. Suddenly wondering where this goes. Auto pilot and sit back and read a book?

I was averaging 8 miles a day at work. maybe 14000 steps. I tried a step gadget, but don't care. I don't walk that much anymore...
  21. Awesome bike. Awesome price.
  22. Different additives do different things. And I still believe most of them ain't for squat.
  23. Think it will be ok with just that single mounting point? I've always had stuff break off using a single mount. Dang vibration. The wiring should be a bit of a vibration dampener.
  24. I've always seen some one else run out of gas. Carrying spare fuel would be worth it, just so I don't have to drain some out of my tank for them. Quicker too. I do carry a 2.5 mini NATO jerry can in my Jeep. Dump it in the tank once and a while to keep a fresh supply. Probably should use Stabil in it. There is a blue marine Stabil that last longer, but using double regular Stabil is probably the same thing, maybe. edit: Nope, Stabil Marine is for preventing ethanol damage. Not the same thing... but maybe better... does appear to be double strength.
  25. nah, that's just jBot - the natural order of the Universe
