Ok, me passing out now, I might see you on Friday night up in Hillard. Or Thursday at the Buffalo Wings out East.

I still think it might be just a bit rich in fuel delivery. Sounds like it's close to what it should be. Not far off. It's better a bit rich, than a bit lean. Are the plugs sooty like that after a hard high rpm run? Or is it just sooty from idling about town?
-
The number on the plug. For NGK, if a 9 is normal, an 8 is hotter, and a 10 is colder. A hotter plug has a similar effect to advancing the timing. Combustion temperature will go up 10-20. Watch out for pre-ignition detonation, if you hear or feel it, forget about using a hotter plug. You use a DPR7EA-9?... oops, not sure you'll find a DPR6EA-9. looking... edit, they make them: "NGK Resistor Spark Plug DPR6EA-9. Will also fit Models: Honda VT 750 C 2004-2007" I wonder what happens if you change all four plugs...
-
NGK is good, just a different heat range if one is available for the type you are using. The reason, is that cold plugs get sooty, so I'm guessing the sooty plug might be better off if it's hotter. edit: just one level heat range change is plenty, not one that is way different.

hmmm, Hypercharger mod says it increases flow and velocities... The only thing I can thing of is incomplete combustion. Either too much fuel, or too much fuel on one side of the combustion chamber. But if it's only on one side, the intake or the exhaust, it's probably related to the flow through the head. Something changed the flow and/or mix, or changed the requirements. A quick fix might be to try changing the heat range of the sooty plugs to a hotter one. So you'd have two different heat ranges for plugs, in each cylinder head.
-
timing?... delay the spark timing a bit? Almost all engine performance modifications require the spark timing to be retarded a little more than stock. But the sooty plugs are on the intake valve side, yes? And dual plug heads? edit: wait, stage 3? your mods need that?
-
geez... that's funny, but it works.
-
This may sound stupid of me to say... but make sure the bike is standing vertical when you check the sight glass on the side of the engine case, or the dipstick. Most dipsticks are top mark is full, and bottom mark is add some amount.

This website might be a bit more up to date. It covers different items anyway. That calsci guy made that website between 2003-2007. http://www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/laws.asp

It's a simple procedure that will save your life. Just do it. And be sure to tell the Doc you usually get dinner or flowers first before something like this...

We should set up a decibel meter at a dyno day and find out. http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4513.221 4513.221 Local regulation of passenger car and motorcycle noise. ...(B)(2) For motorcycles: (a) When operated at a speed of thirty-five miles per hour or less, a maximum noise limit of eighty-two decibels; (b) When operated at a speed of more than thirty-five miles per hour, a maximum noise limit of eighty-six decibels... Here's the get out of it... local noise enforcement must be posted on the highway... ...(D) No regulation enacted under division (B) of this section shall be effective until signs giving notice of the regulation are posted upon or at the entrance to the highway or part thereof affected, as may be most appropriate. In my part of town, you can get the ticket for any modification to a motorcycle exhaust, not just how loud it is: ...(E)1) By prohibiting operating or causing to be operated any motor vehicle, agricultural tractor, motorcycle, all-purpose vehicle, or snowmobile not equipped with a factory-installed muffler or equivalent muffler in good working order and in constant operation; (2) By prohibiting the removing or rendering inoperative, or causing to be removed or rendered inoperative, other than for purposes of maintenance, repair, or replacement, of any muffler;... Seems to me I read that California was trying to outlaw all exhausts and mufflers that were not factory stock.

Bump 'cause I'm hungry...

You can get kits for CJ Jeep also. All wheel driven power. http://www.eaglekitcars.co.uk/Magazine.htm

Good point. Indeed, it could be a reluctant starter. As long as the solenoid is "clicking", and good amps and volts are making it to the starter connection from the battery.

Ok, I looked it up in Ohio Revised Code, and did not find anything on using a road guard in intersections. Only public safety vehicles can do that. To be fair, it should be done with safety vest, flashing lights, and whistle or siren. edit: oops, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have a siren on your car or motorcycle. On the lighter side, I never fail to find something odd in state laws: A herd of domestic animals on the roadway is considered to be "traffic".

I've been in a couple of large escorted rides. It really helps when getting going and out of town quickly. We road guard intersections out in the countryside, but I don't think I'd try it inside city limits in a larger town. Someone (a patrol officer) was saying there is a rule, law, or regulation that allows it, but I've not tried to look it up and confirm that. The National Guard does it all the time. Just paint all the bikes olive green and go for it.

@ ChickOn2: if you like to do BBQ, try this one. The recipe is right on the back of the pack of McCormick seasoning. The aroma will drive people crazy while it's cooking. For me, it's been the best BBQ I've done at home. I'll do this one on 3 or 4 day weekends. I'll let it cook all night, and it's ready in the morning. http://mccormick.com/Recipes/Slow-Cooker/Slow-Cookers-BBQ-Pulled-Pork.aspx Slow Cookers BBQ Pulled Pork Under $2.00 per serving. One recent bloomin' onion was under-cooked for me. yuk, should have sent it back. There's nothing better than a left over casserole, cook once, eat for days. It's easy to switch to other ingredients, using whatever is available. Tuna Broccoli Casserole mix: 1 1/2 cup uncooked pasta shells 1 package frozen broccoli - thawed 1 6oz can tuna - drained 1 can cheese soup 1 soup can milk Place in greased 2 qt casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup crushed potato chips. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. I probably do a chicken-pasta-combo casserole more often. Or chicken and rice, yum. Or a can of veggies. Or any variety of a can of soup. It's not fancy. It's a guy thing, simple is good. Throw whatever I got in there and cook it up. Cooking humor: http://www.badgirls.org/kitchen/ Gals that cook up whatever crap is around to throw together... and hubby still likes it just fine, and wants more... The website used to have details of how that went down, but now it's just basically home grown recipes. do not type in badgirls dot com... it's badgirls dot org... you've been warned, ha

But that Brighter Day Natural Foods, makes food sound both good tasting and good for you. Whoudaeverthunkthat. Either that, or go out on the Levee House Cafe on the river. For the view of the river, if nothing else.

US gives flight 93 site land owners one week to sell.
ReconRat replied to natedogg624's topic in Dumpster
This is the same federal government that had ruled against the individual states, to prevent them from taking land and property for economic gain. And more than once ruled against that. -
It's law in Ohio also, but they found loop holes to get around it. So you don't see too many free air pumps sitting out in the open. Shell still has free air, the last time I checked. I have one tiny compressor in the car, and one big portable at home. Both do jump starts also. And I found out the work light on the big portable, is wonderful when the power goes out for days. The big battery will run the LEDs forever.

http://www.ohio-riders.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&day=2009-6-7&e=126&c=1 I know, it's not a bike night, it's a bike afternoon. They are considering bumping hours into the evening. That's easy, everyone show up late and demand satisfaction. Maybe a dozen bikes there today, at any one time. But... They are giving free stuff away this afternoon. I got a Hooters T-shirt, a kickstand puck (Miller Lite), a dewrag/kerchief/handkerchief thingy. And picked up a Passport game thing that you get stamped all over Ohio by visiting places, to enter a contest to win stuff. The hostess, said the Hooters Hillard had 160 bikes last Thursday. They were counting. And yes, Hooters East is thinking about bumping bike hours into the evening, instead of just the afternoon. If anyone is thinking of going to Hooters East this afternoon, I'll even ride back. It's about 10 minutes for me. edit: oh yeah, I had to let a young deer hop back and forth across the road on the way back (McNaughten and Main). She couldn't make up her mind which side of the road to stick with. I followed along behind, and encouraged her to GET THE HECK OFF THE ROAD. Before she might get hit by a car.
