ok, I suppose I should have said intermittent instead of constant, lol. Not pulse instead of continuous. But would repeated firing of a car coil do the task?
-
If you want pulse instead of continuous, any hot car coil will fire 40kV stuff. And the vehicle is already set up to fire one coil, maybe make it two coils. One for the engine, and one (or more) for your hydrogen generator gear. The extra coil(s) shouldn't draw any more than an additional 10amps? You would be building a second secondary ignition system at your hydrogen generator and firing it with wiring from the primary ignition circuit. That might even be modified with circuitry to increase or decrease the rate of fire. Sort of like an MSD box. Actually, you could fire it with any sort of circuitry you want. You would probably prefer a steady state, and not one that varied with RPM?

I think it's time to create an Ohio Rider flag... ... or stick a T-shirt on a pole. Seriously, two flags on the lead two bikes, one each.
-
Ok, both are the same video, 19 seconds. It starts with the FPD63 car, and there is a jump in the video where it switches to the video from the FPD62 car. I managed to capture the moment where he hit the car. He's upside down being tossed off. Big flame from the strike on the front left corner of the car. The news reporting doesn't help any, they all say two bikes hit one car. Definitely two different patrol cars, it even jumps to the right a bit in position, where the second one pulled up before turning. The first one must have tried chasing the first bike. edit: dang, still don't know... it might have been one motorcycle, and two patrol cars sitting side by side at the light...

geez, already watched multiple times to figure out what I did. Missed the H63 vs H62... I might want to try the other computer, it's faster.

You could try the TV flyback transformer. It's cheap and would have more mA at the lower kV output. And maybe could find one that has a higher kV output. I thought color TVs had more kV output, but I might be very wrong about that. One from a portable TV that runs on batteries might be interesting. I've not looked at one to see how it operates on the 12vdc. I'm believing that most 110vac TVs use that 110vac for the high voltage transformer. A couple of other devices use similar high voltage setups. A neon sign uses a 30kv-40kv transformer. X-ray machine transformers use a higher output voltage. Telsa experimenters try to find the X-ray machine gear. Both still have a 110vac input, for the rated output, as far as I know. You might want to work some numbers, to see if a 14.5vdc alternator can generate enough output to run something like this. You might be running a second one, or a third, like some of the boom stereo contest cars.' I'd be impressed by a 110v generator running on the engine.

I don't think there was two cars and two videos. The two videos posted were of the same one, posted on two different news websites. It's just a very jumpy video feed. You can see variations when running either one of them over and over. And very funky videos in those patrol cars. Most departments have upgraded to a much better video setup, after having lost court cases based on juries inability to view low grade videos now days.

That trike is a "Big Daddy" Roth build. He's a custom builder from way back. One of the original car and motorcycle customizers.
-
You need back-seaters to hold up a banner. Yes? Me thinking a good job for a pair of cruisers with passengers.
-
Running on a 12VDC source, a flyback transformer would probably generate output of only about 12kv-15kv.

You do realize that we are reading this and considering getting our little Hoot Owl punched on a weekly basis.... just sayin'... I get up way too early...

Work there in the Summers, when not in school. That should help with getting hired after graduation. Kinda working your way up from the bottom. Talk to them about an apprenticeship in engineering, for the Summers. It's worth a shot.

I'll take a wild guess that it's dependent upon the throttle position sensor output voltage. Check the free play in the throttle cables. If you adjust them, make sure they don't bind and rev up when forks are turned full left or right. Everything else gets more complicated, having to take voltage readings. First the throttle position sensor output voltage, and then voltage in the ECM harness using a harness adapter than nobody probably has to use. If the voltage drops in any of the wiring or connectors between the throttle position sensor, and/or the ECM, and/or the gauge cluster... it would probably not display correctly. It would display low. That is assuming the throttle display is reading from the ECM/throttle position sensor, it isn't clear in the wiring diagram to me. ECM and FI are extremely touchy about clean connections, if there is any corrosion or bad connections, that would be a problem. The question is, do the other 600RRs do the same thing? edit: wait... are you talking about the LED display on the Power Commander itself? I think I read in the Power Commander manual that the LEDs won't go all the way up when doing that.

Again seriously, there are smaller rack mount devices for continuous output, or capacitor discharge devices for one shot on demand. Starter systems on turbine engines have something similar. None of this stuff is cheap, not even used surplus. None of this stuff is safe, it's all extremely dangerous. Most are powered by AC or charged up with aircraft large generators. This is more in the arena of high energy physics, than electrical. The dangers are extreme. There is even the possibility of harmful radiation being produced, either microwave or x-ray. 40kV 1mA is more of an electrostatic device, but it's still powerful. That's the starting range for splitting neutrons off of atoms, and is why I mentioned neutron beams.
-
yeah, this will do it if you run it on a 110AC inverter, lol... Seriously... are you building an inertial electrostatic confinement (IEC) fusion device? or in other words, a neutron beam weapon?

Very cool, got you pumped up, heh? Were you allowed to take pics there? edit: for those that don't know what TRC is: Transportation Research Center, Inc http://www.trcpg.com/

May 6, 2009 Ferndale, Michigan (Detroit area) http://www.wlwt.com/video/19394955/index.html http://www.clickondetroit.com/video/19385490/index.html I had to run through the video several times, it's a jumpy video feed. It's easy to miss parts of the video. The light is green for the police car. The first bike is running the red light, and runs away. It looks like he's low siding, but it's just motion blur. The police car pulls out slowly into the intersection, and gets hit by a second motorcycle, running the same light. The second rider is the one standing there, he landed on his feet. The first one took off. http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/19387156/detail.htmlhttp://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30607431/

yup... everything... Ohio Riders > Time Wasters > Off-Topic > Firearms edit: actually, it's not a motorcycle board per se, it's a social gathering of friends who ride motorcycles. Work on motorcycles. Collect motorcycles. Etc... It's about the people, and their motorcycles.

I think Findlay high school seniors should "attend" the Heritage graduation. Be sure to bring a big boom box and dance their hearts away. Hug everyone. The whole place would go up in flames? It would at least make the national news...

you have a loft??? cool...

Stand in a hallway, put the shotgun to your shoulder, swing around and see what happens. I put a short smooth bore slug barrel on an old 50 buck Mossberg, with tiny laser/LED combo flashlight bolted on under. Cheap but extremely effective...
-
IP is right, shotgun is better. Less downrange damage, more initial firepower. Plus half of everyone will run at the sight of a shotgun. And forget the pistol grip with no stock thing. 357 will go through several houses before stopping. Somebody near here fired a 22 clear through one house into another by accident. Bullets are like little laser beams in modern houses. Stone or brick wall might stop something. Even cinder block won't always stop things like 9mm. Just be aware. edit: Plus a shotgun is a big stick. Thump them with it.

I never got one of those. When all the police departments traded in for semi-autos, there were a lot of those in the gun shows. Used ones, and they sold quickly. Might not be the straightest shooting revolver, but it's not meant for long range. I would definitely go for the stainless, it's by far the most popular. Any gun shows in your area? That might be the cheapest prices. The Bill Goodman shows are excellent. But you would have to go to the Dayton area for that. http://www.gunshow.net/ http://www.gunshows-usa.com/ohio_gun_shows.htm http://www.ohiogunshows.com/dates.html

yeah... 15.3% increase in one day. Still trying to understand how that happens. I know it goes back down slowly, but up quickly... advantage= oil companies

? Is that a clandestine way of telling some one to "sit on it" ? We need a new smilie for that...
