  1. It was one year ago this evening that I brought home my FZ6R, my first "real" bike. [insert] witty scooter joke [/insert] Looking forward to year 2!!!!!
  2. What works much better than a detector is a keen awareness of the road and the the drivers and traffic ahead of you. As a mc rider you should already have a pretty developed sense of awareness on the road. Traffic patterns and tailights tell amazing stories of the road ahead of you. Laser detectors are worthless. Laser shoots such a tight beam that the cop can hit the guy next to you without your detector ever going off. It will usually only go off with a direct hit to your vehicle, by that time its usually to late. Standard radar detectors are still decent at protecting you on a lone stretch of road. BTW, this is why I don't speed in my company van Cruise control gets set at about 5over everytime I'm on the road in the company van.
  3. In my personal opinion, a battery that has drained down that far will most likely never charge back up. Might want to come up with some kind of timer-cut-off for them LED's.
  4. Thats crazy. Did you see how many pedestrians were almost hit! Thats the really bad part.
  5. Don't feel bad Chevy, I never saw this video either. I guess it was a big thing to recreate a couple years ago with the high schoolers... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyPhyFiLiRI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq7r3F1SoX0
  6. Boy, who misinformed you? Hey now, don't diss the SilverWing, that thing topped out at 115mph, just took a little while to get there
  7. I've gone on some of my best rides on days when they forcasted horrible weather, go figure.
  8. I love how they make it out to be a big deal that hes over 100mph, pfft, anytime I get out on 270 I top 100 at least once.
  9. Ok, I just made it official, I am now registered for this years event. Anyone that wants to help out with an online donation by credit card just click on the link in my signature. I will be registering Melissa here shortly and will setup a link like mine in her signature. I will also be setting something up for those of you that would like to donate by check, bare with me while I setup a separate page for offline donations. Also, anyone that wants to ride in this event with us, by all means you are welcome to ride along with us but keep in mind we are not professional cyclists, we're in no rush, its not a race, we keep an average pace of 12-15mph. We will be starting to train/get-in-shape for this event by riding in the evenings as often as possible. We usually ride at the rail-trail in Old Hilliard. We will also plan a Saturday or Sunday ride occasionally at the Kokosing rail-trail in Mount Vernon (once we're in better shape).
  10. Just keep an eye on the board, there are plenty of meets and get togethers. Several of us just got together for lunch yesterday. Once the bike nights start up there will be plenty of meeting up!
  11. I'd really like to see some current pics of it, my wife might be interested! And I'm assuming its all back to 100% mechanically and safe and all that.
  12. Yeah you better, but try not to get runned over when you leave! I saw that car almost tag you when you were leavin! That plaza's parking lot is probably one of the worst lots I've ever seen, people drive whatever way they want across lanes and everything else, crazy I tell you! BTW it was nice seeing everyone and meeting a few new people too, wish I wasn't working, would have loved to been on the Fizzer!
  13. You have no idea! Welcome. Hold on!
  14. Just how many times can we do this?????
  15. Silly, you can't fall off the face of the planet then just pop in here and expect to get some man love from me
  16. How does one end up on two tv shows if you die?

    OR bike nights 2010

I think I read in Alive newspaper that Screamin Willies in Reynoldsburg was having bike nights on Thursdays starting in April I think. I'm assuming Hooters in Hilliard will start up with Friday nights again.
  18. Oh, now you went and blew it. I won't hold that against you but I can't say the same for some of the others around here! Welcome.
  19. That was pretty good. Was it me or did that guy sound like Cmoose?? Not the language, but his voice People are generally stupid, I learned that a long time ago.
  20. Thats about all I plan on answering.
  21. With you Its just about having a nice day out on the bike for a good cause! For us, its really our motivation to ride our bikes and get in shape; having the charity event looming over our heads makes us get out and ride so we know we can do the 30miles. Once we get into better shape, we may take a ride on the Kokosing rail trail in Mount Vernon, its 15miles each way so its a great test that we can do the 30miles. Its a really nice trail.
  22. We don't ride at a very fast pace, I think we only average 10-15mph so with the reststops the entire 30miles ends up taking close to 3hrs. Afterall, its not a race
  23. Yeah, hello from another FZ6, FZ6R actually :)
