  1. I'm the same way, very cautious but nowadays many web pages have nasty scripts that try and load trojans automatically, because of this I will always have an active AV on all my pc's. I also have my cable modem on a desktop timer that has a pushbutton on/off switch so that if something happens I can quickly turn off the modem to sever the link to the internet quickly. This timer also regulates the times that my modem is actually on, theres really no reason to have the modem online during the hours that I'm asleep or not home!
  2. Welcome! The wife and I used to ride bikes, before we got MC's, not so much any more! Need to get back on them this year! I rode in the ADA Tour de Cure in '06, '07' and '08
  3. For real. I don't understand why they pulled all the Dennys out of Columbus. There were here years ago, then all closed. I love Dennys!
  4. For those going out, please designate a sober driver! Much more fun when you don't have to worry about whether or not you'll make it home alive or ruin someone elses night by killing them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2mf8DtWWd8 Oh and Happy New Years!
  5. Like rollin the dice do you The idea is to stop a virus/spyware BEFORE it gets you, not after the fact.
  6. Dare I ask how you know this?? Or even where Axis is or what it is???? Hmmmm
  7. Hmmm, looked like a pretty beefy program, Norton is also notorious for being a system hog. The NOD32 was recommended to us by the sales rep @ Microcenter for our Netbook, ours didn't come with any AV preinstalled.
  8. That was pretty weird. Cool though.
  9. Not sure what the problem is at this moment but the Norton is a bad idea anyway. A netbook has very limited resources and Norton360 is a full service fully loaded program. You need a AV designed for a netbook that uses lots less resources. Such as Nod32 from Eset. http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php If you get it back up and running you might want to consider removing the Norton and tryin the NOD32.
  10. I've been on "that" list for a long long time!
  11. Heeeeeyyy, I resemble that remark

  14. Whoooaaa. What just happened here. Did I miss something So, anyway. Who's goin to KOC anyway? Still haven't made up our minds.
  15. I just don't think the movie was "all that" funny. Yeah I liked it, yeah I laughed a few times but can't say that I laughed my ass off.
  16. I'll be honest with ya, we saw this movie over the holiday weekend, I didn't think it was really that good. Funny...yes. Friggin hilarious...no Funniest movie I ever saw...definetly not Honestly, to everyone that seems to think it was absolutely the funniest movie they've ever seen...I think you need to see more movies.
  17. MagicJack is pretty nice, I use it as a second line, works good as a private voicemail number when you need to give out a number but would rather not give out the cell or home #. Anyway, ok, I hear all you network engineers, so maybe VOIP technology is okay but today was a good example of how damaging it can be to your business. I tried calling some hhgregg locations in OTHER states, they were ALL down, including their 800# service line! As someone mentioned, a "backup" plan for issues like this would certainly be nice. The hhgregg I stopped in at did not even realize their phones were down. They had no idea until I brought it to their attention
  18. I've spent all day trying to get ahold of ANY hhgregg store to schedule service on our dryer that failed last night. All the store phones ring busy. Stopped at the one in Hilliard, called them while standing there in front of their customer service desk, rang busy, no one on the phone. Apparently the entire company uses VOIP for their phones, and ironically, the entire company is without phones right now... Even the 800# they gave me to use to schedule my service is down. Hopefully some corporate yahoo learned a lesson today. Ma Bell is still the most reliable service. I'll never give up my hardline @ the house!
  19. Yes it did. http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=39676
