Damnit, the weather forecast is looking a little bleak for Saturday...
http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/44116?dayNum=2
I'm still plannin on coming unless it looks like a storm Saturday morning, we'll have to play it by ear. I got your cell # kosmo, if I chicken out that morning I'll call ya.

...I am in South Euclid so the starting point is around 40 minutes ride for me as well. How about the starting time around 10 AM from the Heinen's parking lot in Rocky River ?
Me and InyaAzz are both about 30minutes from the start as well, so that seems about fair. 10am is fine with me, I was gonna PM InyaAzz and suggest that he and I meet up around 9:15 somewhere in Lorain and ride out together, so does that sound alright Inya??
Also, where exactly are we gonna meet up in Rocky River, I don't know where the Heinens is, I haven't been in that area for over 10years!
How about a head count too, how many people are we expecting? I am definetly in and may have one or two friends with me, or might just be me, don't know for sure yet.

Take city money to do this , Clean it , patrol it, salt it, pav it, etc...Just park like everyone else and save us a little money.Ohio is seasonal for motorcycles, having a lot year around for them to park is stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid. And like I said a waste of money.
Have you read the city proposal???? The money collected from the parking permit decals after the first year will pay for the upkeep. And the proposed spaces are NOT entire lots but small areas. The one I saw on Gay street the day it was opened took the place of one actual car space. There was dead space next to the space, thats why it was utilized, therefore only one car space was lost but the spot is big enough to hold several mc's and even more scooters.
The city's plan is more or less a one year test to see how the spaces work out, whether less or more are needed. I think its a great inititive that the city is taking, more and more bikes (scooters and mc's) are on the road now thanks to the cost of gas, this is a good thing.
If you haven't read the official proposal, here is the link...

Welcome. I'm also in the Hilliard area and fairly new, riding just under a year now but turned over 4,000mi yesterday!

I'm sure most of you are probably aware of this speed trap but yesterday on my way home from class I was on 670 eastbound when I came around a corner and under the overpass (right b/f 5th avenue) a cop on a motorcycle...
They usually sit under the bridge on the Westbound side where the speed limit drops from 65 to 55. They are there quite a bit.

Whos going to park there the other 8 months of the year?
First of all, its not a waste of money because after the first year the city is going to charge riders for a decal to be able to park in these spots.
Second...8months?? I don't know about you but I rode my bike quite alot over the winter. To say there is only 4months of riding time is crazy.

Waste of money.
Why do you say that? Have you been downtown lately? Have you seen how many scooters (and motorcycles) are illegally parked in alleys and on sidewalks? Most parking garages will NOT allow motorcycle/scooters to park there.

Here is your google route as a much smaller link. That route looks
doable for me. A good ride for me always ends up taking 4+ hours with
stops for hydration/restroom/lunch. I might end up splitting off in Avon though
to head back to Lorain rather than go all the way to the end.
Here is that link...

I actually would call the station and ask to talk to his superior. There is no call for that.
And if you were only registering 70 then there is no facking way you were doing 72 unless you have a speedo healer, or you rolled off before you looked down.
Unfortunately it would be your word against his, you know who wins that one. Unless he had many complaints and his supervisor felt like pulling the audio from his dash cam <-- actually not a bad idea
The cops were out if major force today ALL OVER.

I rode the parks a while back. Casual ride. Nice scenery. Some curves, but nothing you're gonna be able to lean at speed into. Cops DO roll through there frequently.
I might pass on this one...something tells me I'll be working in Macedonia this weekend or the next. We'll see.
I was wondering about the police/rangers. If anyone else has any ideas please lets hear em. I have never rode in NE Ohio yet, that weekend will be my first trip up there with my bike so I don't know any good and fun roads simply found that route on motorcycleroads.us

I'm in Lorain. You need to look me up..we can log some seat time or shoot the shit.
Your settings say "Cleveland". What are you ashamed to say you're from Lorain , I know, most people don't know where Lorain is so the "Im from Cleveland" thing comes up all the time, been there done that. I was born and raised in Lorain, been living in Columbus since 2000.

Another rider lost his life yesterday near my house on the Westside.
Heard it on the news this morning, think they said his name was Brian Beaumont?? The news article below does not list his name.
They said he lost control and hit the semi. I can tell you by the looks of the picture and knowing where it happened that the semi probably turned out in front of him off of Securities St.

that would be sweet! the Metroparks would offer nice scenery and low traffic with some curves but nothing high speed
could plan some stops along there pretty easy as well
Definetly nothing fast, but would be a nice ride. That map doesn't really do the route justice,
I zoomed in on that road using my MS Streets & Trips and the parkway looks nice and twisty from start to finish
Here is a link to the start of the parkway on Mapquest....
Scoll along and follow the road, not bad.

Anyone want to plan something for the 26th?
I'm gonna be in Lorain that weekend. I was hoping to ride with my friend, I haven't seen his bike yet, its a Buehl, but he usually works on Saturdays. I might be interested, if you don't mind a scoot in the mix. It is a 600cc, so I can hold my own pretty good
-
That being said, can anyone tell me what the hell is up with those idiots you see that ride around with their helmet hanging off the side of their bikes from the underseat helmet locks? What is the point of owning a helmet and bringing it with you if it's just going to be a decoration?
Possibly for a passenger.

The Hooters in Hilliard has a bike night on FRIDAY nights. Its nothing like QS&L but not bad, its over early though, like 9pm I think.

Looks like rain all day Sunday...

The first week I had my scooter I dropped it trying to put it up on the center stand; I was doing it wrong. Once I was shown the proper way to do it, its a piece of cake.

Had my scooter up to 110mph once, yep a scooter

All depends on the vibe I get from traffic. I sometimes only flip the brights on when I'm approaching intersections where there are cagers waiting to turn, the change from dim to bright is sometimes more of an attention grabber than being constant bright. Kinda like a manual mode modulator .
