  1. ...I've put my life and others at risk...

So are you proud of that?? Only an ass would make such a statement; you'll get whats coming to you someday, hopefully you are the only one killed in that accident and not someones wife, or grandmother, or daughter, etc etc.

...I just think it's a bit two-faced to be judgemental toward them when we've all done it.

Who the hell is this "all" you're talking about, its certainly not the majority of riders here.

  2. Anyone been on 555? I hear it's a blast.

I rode 555 a couple weekends ago from Zanesville down to 37, I turned off on 37. I'm not sure how the rest of the road is past 37, looks good on the map! The section I rode was fun, and almost no traffic at all !

  3. Something else to consider... does the ticket indicate where you were clocked? Something like "XYZ County between markers 150 and 151"?? If so, I'd ride back up that way and make sure the road is even marked for airplane tracking in the area indicated on your ticket.

  4. ...Once I hit outside columbus (36/37) A cop is just chillin waiting for me. He got behind me and I'm done for. Seems to me the Airplane speed patrol calculated me doing 101mph...

    I got a couple questions.

    1. Did you or were you actually doing that speed?

    2. How do you not notice a plane on a bike? I can see in a cage, but hell I notice birds flying over me. If there really was a plane, see next question.

    3. Was the more than one cop on the road in the area you got pulled over at?? Usually when they run the plane there are multiple ground units, usually two or more on EACH side of the road. It costs money to have that plane flyin loops up there, they usually run multiple ground units to take full advantage of each pass of the plane in both directions.

If there was only the lone cop at 36/37 (where he almost always is sitting) then I think he may have been pulling your leg about the airplane and assuming he could guess you had done at least 101mph and would not deny it. This is just my opinion, but I smell a rat.

  5. You could spend $75 and be fully licensed in no time...

    - stop at the BMV, pickup a motorcycle booklet and study it for a few days

(or download it here... http://bmv.ohio.gov/driver_license/mc_lic.htm )

    - stop in the BMV, plop down $25 for temp packet (I think it was $25), pass that and get your temps.

    - schedule your driving test with the BMV

    - Rent a scooter from EasyPass for $50 and blow right thru your test with ease! http://eazypassrentals.com/

Then later on, take the ms course ;)

  6. And I started it...

FYI Cincinnati and I have a 150cc scooter...... I can't ride it right now though...

Get out; and I thought I was the only one on here with a scooter! A small scooter is not a bad way to start out, very light and a good way to develop riding skills, you could always upgrade (I use that term loosely, cause I love my scooter) to a motorcycle later.

    :scooter:

  7. ...I saw a carpenter bee coming right at me. Now since the wife was on the back i thought the most loving thing to to show her why we wear helmets is to dodge the bee. Smacked her right in the forehead at about 45 MPH.

Its amazing that you can actually see a bug comin at you ain't it. If you told someone that and they had never ridden they probably wouldn't believe you, its weird, I've swerved to miss a big incoming bug before :)

  8. thats the worst feeling when you are riding just after you take off and you see something out of the corner of your eye and its like a wasp or bee walking around in your helmet

I learned real quick to "bring your helmet in the house" and DON'T leave it in the garage! My wife and I hopped on the scoot for a ride early one evening, got about a 1/2 mile down the road and I hadda pull over cause something was ticklin my left ear, pulled over, took off the helmet and there was biggest damn wolf spider I ever saw INSIDE my left ear cup! If I hadn't stopped and that son-of-a-bitch had decided to bite me or try and crawl in my ear we could have had one hell of an accident!! Take the helmet in the house!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I won't bash you too much, but i wouldn't brag about 110 mph, most of us 600 cc and above can do that in 2nd or 3rd gear...;)

Well look at the design of your bike and mine. Sportbikes are geared and designed for such speeds. My scoot is not necessary intended to reach such speeds and definetly not designed to maintain them, but when's the last time you heard someone say their scooter went over 100mph :D

  10. I don't know why that train horn is so damn funny to me, but I do know that I have to get me one.

It would be fricken awesome on a bike! Can you imagine blowin that sucker when a cager cut you off!

  11. just curious david, why a 600cc scooter?

Do you have an irrational fear of clutches?

Do you have an obsessive compulsive disorder that requires your heels to touch?

My wife rides with me, she has lower back problems, the automatic CVT transmission is seamless and helps her be able to ride with me. Besides, "twist 'n go" is much more fun then "clutch, shift, go, clutch, shift, clutch, shift" Honestly, its much easier to enjoy the actual ride when you have one less thing to concentrate on.

Don't knock 'em till you try one. I've had my Silverwing up to 110mph and it does quite well on the twisties ;)

  12. that's true, it may be a cruiser, but at least it's a honda...

that's worth half credit at least...

:scooter: Do I get points for havin a HONDA scooter?? :D My scoots a strange cross between sportbike and cruiser..... looks like a sportbike from the front, sitting position of a cruiser
