track bikes come up on ebay occasionally. from what i can see, you pretty much just want to look for salvage title bikes that are selling/auctioning for cheap and convert them yourself.

as long as you can find penndale rd in wampum PA, you can't miss it.

I think at this point we are simply aiming to to get the bike ready to run laps at beaver, make some adjustments and order more parts if needed and be ready to race the next round after beaver. And for that to happen, it'll depend heavily on whether we get parts in on time. Craig has already made good progress on it, like a boss. But yeah, we are serious about the 3 hour fo sho. I'm gonna review that "starting a hoopty race team" thread I made a bit back to see how people recommended we cover expenses and distribute amongst the team members. We'll draft an agreement and go over it this weekend whether the bike is ready to test or not.

thanks for the input guys i would/could spend more, but i have a plan in place to build a detached garage/man cave (for bikes and toy car) in addition to the 3 car garage, after which point in time, i would be a bit more spendy and buy a "long term" toy car (don't know what i want yet). this is strictly a car to keep me amused and tide me over til I've sorted out the details. all that and try not to dump too much money into it whether it be repairs or depreciation... hence, trying to buy a car that has practically hit bottom for depreciation. i'm open to other suggestions, but unless it's a compellingly awesome car, i probably wont go over 15K. my default pick is a stock S2000 or a good deal on an elise (which can occasionally be found for just around 20K). still waiting on the guy to get me the dyno/tuning info he has. per him (and the carfax backs this up) he moved from virginia after a nasty divorce and his shit is all in a disarray. i'm assuming he's using this to keep these docs from me, but i'm hoping he'll produce them to reduce my worry. bad, i saw that supercharged S2000... he's down to 16.5K but he doesn't answer PM or emails to his craigslist ad. and I have no idea who "VLAD" is and don't like to call people lol also, it runs on E85 which i think i can find near me but that car worries me too because it's had so much work done. the guy who built it seems to know what he's doing though. i hope he gets back to me. i can't post in the classifieds thread cause i dont have enough posts on that forum as far as dyno/diagnostics shop goes, i'm looking for a place in Northeast ohio (which is where i am) NE of cleveland. if i was in cbus, there is be no question I'd take it to dtm-brian. i will probably take it to him if i end up buying it.

did you look at the ad? in your opinion, does it look like it's got the parts needed to keep it running smoothly? let me know what the LS1 s2000 price is. that would be neato as long as it's not a basket case.

i thought about that too, but i dont think the seller will want me to drive it 300+ miles to get a dyno run. the seller isn't a bad guy by any means, i believe him when he says he had it tuned... i just need proof and find out if it really does make the power he says it does (it certainly felt strong, though laggy as fuck... stupid high strung POS lol jk) and that it's running optimally. i will probably take it to him after i buy it (IF i buy it and that's a big if)

have some fun in an empty parking lot. i dont do it a lot since i get on track a lot, but it is fun. just make sure your tires are warmed up before you get too crazy.

The S2000 was a bit of a "dream car" for me back when it came out, so I'm kinda doing the whole "I was too poor to even dream of owning one back then" scenario. at 12.5K (or 12K which is what i'll offer him) the honda is pretty much bottomed out in price. you also have to keep in mind this is just going to keep me amused until I buy a "proper" toy car in the next couple years. i should probably buy a non-turbo'd s2000 and just enjoy it and sell it later, but i want more power. that's what i said. i'm going to guess whoever had it before him installed all the crap on it and got it dialed in himself. There is an AEM EMS on there (amongst other things) so it's not a terrible setup. he said he is looking for the dyno/tuning info cause I told him I was concerned about it. i know he's had it listed for a while, so he is motivated to get me the info.
