Talk to r1crusher, he's on the hunt for a 600 track bike. are the forks, swing arm, frame, etc straight? What weight is the suspension set for?
-
Yeah, I actually ordered the same one you did from lockhart philips ebay site. Took a while to get it, but its as described. That said, unless you are super clumsy with the steering on corner exit, you probably won't even notice. At least, my whore of a bike didn't.

That's gotta be just the mounting kit. but hey, if its the whole thing, buy twelve
-
awesome! i saw your posts about that shiny new ducati you got. Hope to see you out there.

the safe word is "all orifices accounted for" the trick is to get it all out before you get bitch slapped again... otherwise, it doesn't count

Discount day at Nelson for Ohio Riders - April 16 2011

here is the link to motoseries's track info: http://www.motoseries.com/track_nelson.htm basically, it's $10 at the gate. I believe camping is free, from what i remember. now is probably a good time to do a summary of the track. It's a FAST track, it's a fun lay out. It is bumpy, and the grass has ruts (but then, so does ANY track that lets cars race/run on it). It is cheap, and good people run the show (motoseries is a great local org) and you can get a lot of individual attention if you ask. The facilities are kinda sad, but there are plenty of toilets showers, etc. It is definitely NOT as fancy or technical as a track like Mid Ohio. However, it is a very economical way of getting cheap track time. The track surface is also very grippy, even in the rain. There are lots of people that will help you at the track if you ask around... and I'm not just talking about the control riders or instructors. Lots of those guys are there all the time, and they're like a little family. Just ask anyone, and they'll likely give you the shirt off their back. If they are gross, don't ask for their shirt. If you are a solid Intermediate level rider or up, go there for the friday evening open track time. It's only $60 for 3 hours of open track. That is a bargain, especially if you can last more than just 20 minutes at a time. Then, camp for the night and do the day afterwards. Sunday is the race, and from what I understand, they are going to have track time on Mondays too. I'll post up more as I think of it. -

Hi ya'll I've been talking with the owner of Motoseries (Todd) and I've been trying to get our little group here a discounted day at Nelson Ledges. Here is the link to Motoseries website: www.motoseries.com Since I am such a smooth talker and don't have a gag reflex, I got him to give us almost a 20% discount for April and May. I've made a separate thread for April. So, what that means is he will give us $20 off for the Saturday, May 14th 2011 track day event. But we have to get at least something like 10 people to get this to work. If we can get more people, we can get an even better discount... so the more the merrier. If you're interested, post up here. I'll be there already to harass some people that need harassing. If you KNOW you want to go, go to the site, and sign up the the date with code: ohride11 Any questions, I can try to help as much as I can. There are others here that have been to Nelson quite a few times that will chime in. You know you want to see me in my panda leathers riding the ugly bumblebee looking bike around the track. NOTE: I am asking that you keep this thread related to the track day event and whether you want in or not. I will give a run down of the track and track day org as objectively as possible later in the thread when I get time. If you have a deep seeded hatred for Motoseries or Nelson for whatever reason, take it to another thread (I will be asking mods for help on this). This thread is to get people on the track, and have some fun, and do it without breaking the bank.

sounds like a match made in heaven! i wish i started on a dual sport. dont get me wrong, the ex500 is not a bad choice for a starter bike, but dual sports are just that much bettererer depending on what kind of riding you want to do. congrats on getting your woman to ride. i'm trying to break my gf in with a scooter. gotta start with just the tip, dontcha know

you work for a publicly funded state agency/department that would fire you if you expressed your opinion about SB5?

from one of the board members that handle the back end of it, the passwords should still be secure since they are... hashed? i dunno, the explanation made sense, but he said to change the password if it makes you feel better. i just went ahead and changed it. -
he has said in the past that he doesn't even break even on this site most of the time. and judging by hosting costs for a website like this with the traffic it gets, and the amount he charges per year for someone to be a "sponsor" and "supporter", i would believe it.

lol no, not at a short track. i mean, i'd love to try to milk a badger, but i heard they are feisty. like my original post said, the goal is to try to get a good compromise between a street friendly (as much as possible anyway) bike with decent maintenance intervals with sporting sumo characteristics. maybe later on, I'll want something more race oriented, but for now, I'm sure I'll be happy with a bike in the low 300lb range with 60 something hp. this bike is probably more than i can handle as is. the video is just plain baller racing, not some delusion i had about being able to do the things they do in that video. just like if i posted a motogp video, it doesn't mean i would compare my ratty 600rr to yamahahaha m1 gp bike and myself to lorenzo.

also, i just saw this.... sweet 6.7lb baby jesus: http://freecaster.tv/supermoto/1010117/fim-supermoto-wc-09-supermoto-of-nations-s2-round-2-replay

as an added incentive to becoming a "supporter" i will not dedicate entire paragraphs and novels to making fun of your posts, even if it is packed full of stupid. I will keep it strictly to 1 liners... 2 liners, tops. pinky promise.

yeah, the prices for the motorex cross power 10w 60 (I think that's the weight recommended) go from 15-20/liter depending on who you ask. Since my search started, i've come to realize the sporting singles are princesses when it comes to maintenance, so I'll suck it up and buy the recommended stuff. Also, it sounds like KTM and motorex pretty much developed that oil specifically for the LC4. I also have to get the bike sag set for me, and soften it up a bit. that's one good reason to take it to a track day. the other part being, screwing around on the track with it. MUAHAHAHAHAHA
