I'm with them, they would probably be ok for novice, but the full length boots are much preferred. If you are too much of a cheap bastard to get proper stuff, confirm with the trackday org just to make sure -

i wish you the best of luck with the weather. i'll be going to nelson in mid april, so i need lots of luck too. i would type out a big thing about what to take, etc, but I already did it like 2-3 times. peruse the track day forum, and you'll see quite a few tips. -
obviously, invest heavily in vegas stocks. (this is a joke, do not invest heavily into vegas stock. at least, not now, if ever)

tony takes very good care of his bikes so he can look good while he disappears in the corners ahead. he's also one straight up fella.
