  2. you could sign up for MSF instead:

    $25 for BRC

only a couple hours in the class room, and then get a good number of hours practicing low speed maneuvers on someone elses bikes, and get to ride the maneuvers you'll be tested on a bunch of times, and on the last day, they just watch you do what you've been doing for the last 9 hours of the course and give you a certificate to get your motorcycle license (M endorsement).

safe, cheap, easy, and fun. yes, you CAN haz cheezburger and eets it too

  3. Nothing but positive encounters with Harley owners. When I lost my front tire due to a blow-out on my Suzuki Intruder 1400, a very nice cruiser which I no longer have, an older gentleman stopped by and let me use his cell, which helped out a great deal. He rode a Harley but that day he had his truck. At a gas station a few Harley riders gathered around my 600RR and checked it at a bit, commenting that it had alot or torque, which was true. It's all about the road, really. As long as your on it with two wheels, you're good. Some dude on a Sportster tried to race me in a roll-on when I was riding my 600RR. When he got smoked he stayed well behind me, even when I was doing the speed limit, the punk...

    lol, wut?

  4. Ah the Rob Durren 'I think I'll look cool if I hold my bike stupid' pose...

....what's extreme about having someone help lift your bike on the front wheel, then you hold it for the camera?:lol:

  5. Ok, my 2003 RC51 has ran flawlessly until a few months ago.

4 Months ago: Battery started dying. No Problem, New Battery

3 Months ago: New Battery dies. No Problem, replace regulator/rectifier and charge battery.

Now: Bike won't start. New battery was replaced with even a newer fully charged Yuasa battery (stupid asian batteries, Yuasa all the way!)

When I crank the bike, it sounds weak (Keep in mind, brand new battery) and won't turn over. Checked all the obvious things: Air filter, I smell fuel out the exhaust, the engine turns, so it's not hydrolocked in anyway. It's not the BAS or the kickstand or clutch switch because the engine wouldn't crank if those were an issue. Plus it doesn't fit the battery draining mystery.

Here's my theory: Somewhere in the wiring harness between the battery and the starter, there is a weak connection and current isn't flowing properly to complete the electrical circuit from the battery to the stator to the R/R and back to the battery.

Everyone else agree? Any other ideas?

I've checked the grounding points and they all seem solid. I've heard other RC51's have similar problems with electrical harnesses, but I can't fine the problem area. Honda NW blew me off when I called and said they can't get me in until March to look at it. It's probably something so simple that I'm going to go nuts when it does start.

I'm in Pickingington if anyone is interested in stopping by and taking a look at it. Beer can be provided. I'm sick of my pig sitting in pieces in my garage as this weather warms up. I have a random work schedule, but let me know if anyone is interested in helping a brother out. Thanks in advance!

    lol wut

where do you think yuasa batteries come from?

have you looked on rc51 forums? (try speedzilla and fireblades.org) i'm sure it is a common problem. from what i've read up on other bikes, it may be the stator? or maybe the relay connector (if there is such a thing on the fitty one cent)

hope you get it worked out.

  6. i'm so glad i'm a ninja (i have my black belt in malls) so i know exactly what i would do with my glock shuriken guns if i was attacked by pirate zombies. i'd aim straight for their taint without mercy.

it's the only way to kill a pirate zombie, you know.

you noobie pussies don't know shit bout mall ninjitsu. pitiful.

  7. I took my Aprilia RSVR into Full Throttle Yamaha in Willoughby this past week for a few service things (yes, i am a lazy POS).

I've been worried about being able to get my bike worked on since the closest Aprilia dealership is a bit far away from me, and my mechanic friend is very busy and I hate to bug him for this sort of thing. Finally, I heard from one of the threads that an Aprilia dealership (along with yamaha and motoguzzi!) opened up in Willoughby, and I called them up. The guy I talked to (not sure if he's the service manager) was a cool guy, and was up front and informative about all the work and how many hours he thought it was going to take. Everything was very fair in terms of estimates, and hourly rate.

I took the RSVR to get a new front tire put on, oil change, clutch fluid flush, rear brake fluid flush, and a couple little things I noticed about the bike. I got charged 2 hours worth of labor, and they was done in one day. Honestly, as far as a dealership goes (at least the ones I've dealt with) I think that's quite good.

So, if you need to have your bike worked on, and you're too lazy to do it, and your mechanic friend is too busy, and you're around NE Ohio, full throttle yamaha is a pretty safe place to get it done at.

  8. There are two simple answers anyone who has to live with a concealed weapon will tell you...

    Glock.

    Galco.

Some will tell you the Glocks jam-these rumors are due to the fact that many people who fire a Glock are used to a 1911...if you hold the Glock loosely it will in fact jam occasionally. It must be gripped. And if you have it out to use it, trust me-you'll be gripping the living shit out of it. The Bersa, as a side note, is a joke.

    glock. lol.
