I meant no direspect. I only meant that when I signed that contract, I thought I fully knew what it meant. I was wrong, every time I enlisted/reenlisted. People grow/change/mature, the military doesn't care.

Understandable. Some may comprehend, but to know the feelings...? At 17, did you fully realize how much it hurt to leave a family? Did you realize as your views of the world changed, that contract would remain?

I don't think anyone fully understands what comes with that contract.

I didn't mean "leave" within the heat of the moment. I mean someone does multiple tours, hates what they are doing, and still has years left of an enlistment. They can't leave. Of course I had an idea of what I signed into. Did I fully grasp the gravity at 18 y/o? Hell no!

I think "unwilling" is the perfect word. I believe every able bodied American should serve an enlistment.

What other "career" doesn't let you leave as you wish? When times are tough. When things aren't fair. When things break legal/moral boundaries. I didn't enlist during any major conflicts, yet I do what our elected officials deem is neccessary to keep our quality of life. As for not joining until you are needed...does that mean the US should have zero military forces, until we are attacked? It's called Defense. Thank a vet, not for what they have done, but what you are unwilling to!

Most in the miltary appreciate the thanks they get, deep down inside. Unfortunately, many are too humble or even embarassed to fully show the appreciation. The ones that say they "hate getting thanks" disgust me. If that's how you feel, keep it to yourself. Don't ruin it for others. Anyone that thinks it is just a job...go to the airport and watch a family farewell before a 12+ month deployment.

What would be a fair price for a clean m9 with about 3k rounds? 2 years old. Light use from normal use and hard/soft holster use. 2 mags. Original packaging, paperwork and receipt from OE. Not selling here/not posting pics here, just looking for an unbiased answer.
