  1. I haven't posted in here in awhile... Fell out of gym habits back in May, Steph got real sick and we stopped going for a couple weeks and never got back into it... Changed up our diet (nothing fancy - cut most of the pop and fast food and working on portion control) and started walking the dogs before and after work... My overall progress has been nice, but I still have a long way to go... I hate going to the gym, I need to find a hobby or something... I was up to 318 but I hit my lowest today at 276 so I'm down 42lbs... Been about 6 months... Very slow progress, but progress none the less... I started drinking 64oz of water each day now like recommended (before, I'd have an energy drink and nurse it for 9hrs at work and then some water before bed) and that's helped a lot too

    Good Job!!!

  2. Down 22 lbs to 208. Run time is going down, shooting for 8 min miles. Need to brush up on push ups, sit-ups(but that is easy for me).

Lots of cravings lately. I've added a b12 vitamin for peace of mind. Energy level is coming back even with the workouts.

I tried racquet ball once, definitely not my thing, but a great workout nonetheless.

  3. Juice fast or juice cleanse? Be careful. I tried it lost 20 lbs and gained 30 lbs back in less than a month eating minimal calories? Only thing that has worked is high fat low carb. I lost 70lbs and have managed to only gain 5lbs back and have stayed at a consistent 180-185 for 2 months.

Fast.  I appreciate the heads up.  I know everyone uses the excuse, but this really is a kickstart for me.  I will finish and then be in the desert for a year.  It's always easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle over there.

Good job on the 70 lbs.

  4. I've started a 60 day juice fast.  I'm on day 11.  Things are going well.  Down 11 lbs from 230 starting weight.  I do mostly vegetables, with a serving of fruit or so.  Approximately 24 oz @ 3 times a day.  Probably 80 oz of water a day.  I am also doing cardio for an hour a day, 6 days a week.  No bathroom issues to speak of.  Unlike the hype of the documentaries, I don't have a  huge surge in energy.  They are probably using tons of fruit.  I am a little more tired than usual, but mostly from the exercise.  I am struggling with recipes.  It is hard to get the quantities I need without adding lots of fruit.

So far Cucumbers, zucchini, with an apple are great.  Same with Bell peppers.

  5. Eh... if you haven't read the book it's a good movie.

If you have read the book it's some facts loosely tied together with embellishment and outright bullshit.

That can be said about every book/movie.  I especially don't expect reality from a military movie.

On that note though....I heard Unbroken is a ridiculously good book.

  6. In regards to diesel, an 'expert' was discussing this on the radio and said that unlike regular gas, diesel demand is relatively consistent (i.e. not many hybrid diesels out there) so it keeps prices relatively steady. I get that but if the raw material (i.e oil) is cheaper, why wouldn't that affect the price???

I'd bet the supply is by far the largest variable for both.  I really don't see demand changing that much.

  7. I'll continue to lead a medium paced group, Derek, no matter the route. If I get the route in advance, I can map study enough beforehand to pull it off as best I can. It's just nice having some familiarity in the mix. I was just getting quite confident memorizing the current route, but dont let that stop planning for a new route and meet point. I'll do my part if it's scheduled for a weekend I can go.

Memorizing might be a strong word, lol.

    **you did great**
