  1. I've heard that before....at least once or twice a month
  2. It's only a couple of days away. I have been anticipating Mr. Ebon to post up an excuse...err sorry, I mean a reply of why he can't make it.
  3. Webbikeworld.com talked about buying a cheap ($10) one, removing plastic, and all of a sudden, you have a very cheap, portable, powerful, air compressor that can fit in just about any bike. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-technical-articles/air-pump/
  4. I love the memory foam tips! There are several different style that use those. For me, they definitely work the best. They stay in my ear, even at 150+, no helmet. They are all day comfortable, solid, great feel and fit very securely. If you use a helmet, the volume needed is much less then other styles, because they block out so much of the surrounding noise. That can also be a bad thing, as you can't hear people talk, or other sounds, so use at your own risk. I have been using Memorex EB200a for a while now. They have the Comply memory foam tips, cost $10-20, and fit my ear really well. I love these things. Also tried a Kicker EB101, which has an included mic. They come with silicone tips, And the Comply memory foam tips too. I paid $10. shipped via ebay. There is a little button on it, and with an Iphone, you can play/pause, next and previous track. If I tuck the Mic inside my helmet, I am able to talk at 65mph on the busa, and hear, and be heard clearly. The next style I try, I think is going to be the Memorex IE400. They have a 14mm driver, that sounds very appealing. I have only heard one person talk about them, (who wasn't a biker), and he loved them.
  5. Actually..now you have to be at the meet up spot, and Ironton. That is how I read it. I never saw an If, or a Maybe in there anywhere.

    Baby Ben

Congrats guys! You really didn't have to name him after me though. I know I have made your lives drastically better and all, but really..this is too much. Thank you, thank you.
  7. Uh-Oh! I hope you aren't speaking from experience! Great pics, keep adding them! Have a great time

    Roadkill

Smooshabillity factor, is also related to animal size! There are some pretty tiny dogs out there, and plenty of them are smooshable, even with the smallest of bikes! Over the years, I have hit coons, rabbit, squirrels, a couple of birds, and depending on the bird and where they hit, they can be scary! None of them have actually caused any damage, just some cleaning. Some have been dead already, some were in my path. The one that you don't want to tangle with, dead or alive, would be a Skunk! Now that would just be horrible! Unsmooshable with any size bike! (unless you are borrowing a friends bike, then maybe)
  9. My mom and dad both had bikes when I was growing up. Mom had a Kaw, Dad a Suzuki. Don't remember much more that that. I used to love to ride, and was riding when I was their age. The only bikes I have owned are 4 Ninjas and my current Busa. Be careful, your kids might end up with a Kawasaki fetish! Anyone else notice he didn't add any pictures to Prove he wasn't driving the toaster, with his head hanging out the window? It was talked about. He might have confused them. Stay safe, and good luck!
  10. I did want to point out, that Mr. 600zzeb, has given a verbal commitment. I know it isn't a ride binding type of thing, like as if he had written down that he is going to be there, but he Did say it! There were 3 witnesses, all of which have posted in this thread already! There, now you are really committed. Just thought I would help you out!
  11. Whoa! I haven't been here much, so I am not sure if you have been around much, but it's glad to see you post again. I hope to see you out on another CSBA ride soon. So, what do you consider young guys? Yeah, I guess by asking that it just means I'm too old. I am recovering, and will very soon be able to ride just about any time, anywhere, with any type of bikes. If you get bored enough, send me a message!
  12. Vancouver is a great city! Lots of fun. I was in my suburban, so I didn't get to explore the roads though. I still regret not going to Alaska while I was up there! I am doubtful for the ride. I'm still recovering. One of these days I'll be able to ride again.
  13. Well.. I suppose i will do my monthly log in.. Been having problems lately and its just easier to not see everyone posting, and having fun. You dont care about all that.. You care about ice cream! From Westerville.. Head out past the zoo, stay along the East side of the river... And there is (or used to be) a really nice ice cream place out in Prospect. I havent been there for awhile. Not sure of all the names of roads..from memory it would be.. Straight North down riverside/257. There are several little pull off areas down there.. Several are good for pictures, or picnics. Personally, I like the last one the best.. I believe it is Park P. Also, there is the Scioto Park, depending where at you jump on riverside from. It's always nice to get a pic in front of the Leatherlips statue. That thing is pretty cool. Go Straight across Rt42 to Klondike rd. Not much traffic from here on out. (Sadly, since I have been very inactive lately.. But Cooter lived just a few minutes from there.. He still might. I won't name the actual road due to his privacy!) Take that all the way to rt36. Turn left down 36 for a few hundred ft.. And then turn Rt onto... Warrensburg rd (name might be wrong). You will come to a stop sign about 2 miles down the rd. There are some nice orange flowers by the bridge there. Usually, the trees (some are Mulberry trees if you like those) on the other side of the road, can provide enough shade if you need a break. Turn Rt. Staying on warrensburg rd. Less than a mile, sharp right hander (15 or 25mph type), then a couple hundred feet up a hill you, Turn Left onto Hodges rd. Another mile down the rd, Turn Left on 37, for maybe 500ft. Turn Right onto River Rd. The first mile there, is almost like you are driving through a tunnel of trees. It's probably my favorite part. There is a small pull off area for pics along the river.. Or often you can just park in the center on the rd. for pics. Anyways, you get to stay on River rd for probably 10 miles now. There is a stop sign, you cross over Radnor rd, and there is a Y in the road, you just stay left. Real easy. You run into a stop sign at 203/main st, you turn Left for .1 miles or so, then branch off to your Right onto Elm St. It's less than .5 miles down the road, on your left hand side. I don't remember then name off hand. Notable mentions. Waldo is close to Prospect.. They have the semi-famous G&R tavern. Famous for fried bologna sandwiches of all things. There is also a Blues Creek Preserve, (outside of ostrander) and a Galant Nature Preseve (few miles NW of delaware) both are a nice little quiet place to stop. They both have little hiking trails as well. From Scioto park, to Prospect.. Going the speed limit, (which is under 55 in several places), I would guess it would be a 1 hour ride, each way. It is just a nice, easy, laid back, scenic type of route, with usually very little traffic. It is at it's best, during spring and fall, when the flowers are blooming, and the leaves are changing. Women really seem to enjoy that route from my experience. It's also a popular route for bicycles. Last I was on those roads.. There was some gravel in a couple of the curves, but going the speed limit, I had no problem avoiding any of it. If I managed to screw up the names of the roads.. I'm sorry.. The turns should be accurate though! If you can't figure it out on google, let me know. It's a good way to spend a couple hours, or could make a day of it if you wanted to stop at some of the parks. Blues Creek Presere is a pretty nice place to stop, but the bathrooms are horrible! Galant Nature Preserve has normal bathrooms, but not as big of a place as Blues Creek! If you need one.. It is within my current mileage range, and I could play tour guide.. Or I'm sure Cooter knows all those roads too!
  14. Turns out, that I will have to be sitting this one out. My little trial today didn't go as well as I hoped, but it did tell me I am not ready for this length of a ride. Best of luck to you guys though.
  15. I know where Mohican is, and have ridden there before, I just have always followed. I am used to pain, and have been safely riding in pain for years. That is why God invented morphine, so no need to worry about that lol. If anyone wants to meet up with me, and then cruise on over to Fredericktown, just let me know when/where. If not, that's cool, and as long as when I wake up it's a good day, I'll see you guys there.
  16. Not yet, I still have a few things to get, but I am working on it. Next up is going to be my freaking garage door opener! I remember a write up on here somewhere, I just have to either motivate myself a little more, or heal up a little more, and I'll get it wired in. Also gotta get a tank bag, but I have been looking at those for a long time. I just can't decide which one. I don't really need more luggage, but I think I might put a drink system in it. Currently I have one I wear, which can be nice having a drink everywhere I walk, but depending on the ride, it can also get annoying. I have also been debating about mounting my phone up front beside my gps, but I am worried that it will distract me too much if I do that. That might turn into a safety issue for me. After that, I start working on the back half of my bike. I want a bike mounted tool kit, and first aid kit. I can put a lot of things on the front, back, top, bottom, and inner side of those luggage racks! There is always something to be added to my Tour-abusa!
  17. Looks like joey614 can meet gsxr07 somewhere in Columbus. Then meet up with me in Delaware where 42 breaks off from 36, at that little (I think) Certified gas station (or wherever they are comfortable with), then we can take boring 42 to meet bendougcarl in Ashley at that little gas station where 42 and 229 intersect. Bertman85 could also meet up in Ashley if he wanted, or we could grab him on the way to Mohican. I don't know that area at all, so he would have to pick a spot. I am open to any other type of meet up spots. That one just seemed like a kind of centrally located one, but trying to time that many meet ups might be an issue. Basically tell me when/where to meet up with someone, and I'll be there, gassed up and ready. I have been injured for a month, and am not sure how long I will be able to ride. I know I can't ride more then 60 minutes straight without a 10min ice break. I will have to take it easy, but as long as you guys are cool with waiting at the stop signs/lights/turns, I am cool with just playing catch up. Due to my injury, I might have to break off early. I do Not the area we are riding in, and am Not comfortable with leading. I am familiar with Columbus, Marion and everything between them, and my gps can get me/us to any spot if I have an address. If my riding limitations are unrealistic for what you guys have in mind, you can just tell me. I am an adult and can handle it. No hard feelings, I understand just wanting to get out and ride, and not worry about a gimp!
  18. Yup Airhawk! Thanks Chevy! In my Cockpit, there is also a : Throttlemeister (cruise control, Right Bar End, Heavy version to reduce vibration), Garmin 765t gps wired to a hidden 12v outlet, Gerbings heated gear wiring with 2 knobs mounted for individual heating control (barely sticking out under bottom left of gps), MRA Vario-Touring windscreen (which is absolutely amazing for taller riders, long distances, and high speed runs), Matching rocker switches to control my fan (Left one is barely visible just left of sunglasses) LED lighting (right switch completely blocked by sunglasses), USB outlet to charge my Iphone (hidden from this view by my gps) Foam Grips that slide Over your current hand grips. (great addition for anyone wanting to cut down on vibration, or who has bigger hands and wants a slightly larger grip to grab. This is the best accessory I have got for my bike that has been under $10. I could tell a very big difference in less than 1/2 mile.
  19. There is a new market! An easily removable, tank or tail mounted purse! Probably have to be a strap mount, as I'm sure the magnets wouldn't be good for the credit card strips. (if that is really true). All the ladies could just strap down their specially designed, paint matching purse..come up to the store, unstrap it, and off they go, wearing it as usual. Or, you could just use a tank or tail bag, and stick it in there. They have some that attach to your seat, and when collapsed, just look like your normal seat, just 1/2 inch taller, or however big. Or, you can just do it the MJ way, which wouldn't look nearly as odd, if it was a red, or black purse! Seriously though, for anyone that is debating about getting luggage. I know it isn't for everyone, but I absolutely LOVE my Givi! I rarely ever go anywhere without them. Those of you that know me, know I ride often (14k last year), and ride in any and all weather, including Well below freezing temps. I have packed everything I have needed over the time that I have had them, and have never had any problems. Well once, when I forgot to close the lid on the top case, and both my hat flew out, and 1 glove liner, but that was my fault. I will never own another road bike that doesn't have hard luggage. It completely Enhances the riding experience. Yes, my set up was expensive, but I know my side cases/racks (which I had first) have paid for themselves already. I found them as a used pair, for less then the cost of just brand new racks. I have saved enough just by being able to bring drinks from home, and not having to pay $3 for a water at a gas station. On many rides, I used to easily spend $10. a day in drinks and gas station snacks. Now I just pack it from home, and have enough to share with anyone that I ride with. Instead of buying 1 granola bar, I will now bring a box for the same price. Instead of 1 small water, that won't entirely quench my thirst, I can bring 10, and always have them ice cold. Between all 3 cases, I can do some serious grocery shopping, or easily pack for an extended road trip. My side cases are 21L each. That is big enough for 2 gallons of water in each side, plus a little extra room for snacks. My top case is a huge 55L one, which can fit 2 full face helmets. I have fit 5 large pizzas in there, with room to spare on all sides! If anyone has any questions about them, feel free to send me a message.
  20. For those that are wondering, in less than 30 seconds, I can remove the luggage, and it will look like this.
  21. I do carry a cooler in my right case, usually filled with various non-alcoholic drinks for all those bikes that can't even strap down a water bottle! No microwave, though I might have to look into a 12v powered one!
  22. Hey, first time I have been on this site for a few weeks actually, and the first thing I see...is a post about my bike! Kind of nice! It was the first day I've ridden in awhile too. Anyways, yeah, I am sure it was my bike. Thanks for the compliment!
  23. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to make the ride. Have fun, and stay safe everyone.
  24. I look forward to seeing everyone there. I will be going even slower then usual, and hanging out way in the back. So if any new, and/or slower riders are debating about going, you won't be alone.
  25. That is awesome! He did a great job!
