  1. The gain from the 2.8 is really nice. The only thing IS helps with is a steady hand. I only shot with the 24-105 once and it wasn't enough to make me want to consider trading my 24-70 for. I found being able to get better speeds in dimly lit situations were flash wasn't a good option more important. If I didn't have to worry about that the 24-105 would definitely be the way to go. Right now if I want decent bokeh for portraits I use a 50 1.8 or my 100mm macro.

I love the nifty fifty! I haven't shot with the 100mm macro, but I have the 100mm f2 in my set. It creates nice bokeh as well.

I agree, the IS probably wouldn't help me benefit from my shots as much, since my choice of subject are usually moving.

  2. I used to have the 24-70 L and the the 24-105 L, and dumped the 24-70 in favor of the other. I liked it better, especially for portrait work. Some of the earlier 24-105's were notas good, but I think mine was a later 07 version and it was super crisp and had the best bokeh on a lens I've ever seen. Check it out, very good lens. After buying it, I dumped everything except the 100-400 L and the Tokina 12-24. Didn't need anything else.

fredmiranda.com is probably the best for used Canon lens(or was a couple years ago). Sometimes you can get lucky and Adorama or B&H will have used/ refurbed lenes too.

Originally, I had my eyes set on the 24-105 f4L. Then there was the huge debate of whether or not I would need the IS. I find myself photographing subject matter in low light condition, so I think the 24-70 f2.8L would be the way to go.

  3. I have the 40D, it will not disappoint! I wanted the fast FPS it has, along with the higher MP, bigger screen, pretty much everything, since I was moving up from a digital rebel!

Sounds enticing, but I love the high ISO on the 50D. I hear it does well in low light situations - not saying that the 40D doesn't, but it's definitely my biggest concern since I do a lot of concerts and nightscape photog.

  4. Not a bad deal on a great camera. It's a bit dated, but still a good one!

Out of curiosity, what are you considering to upgrade to? I'm a Canon fan, soo don't kill mw with the "N" word. (Nikon)

I'd like to go full frame, but I don't wanna give up the tokina 11-16mm since it's my favorite lens. So maybe the 40 or 50D. I wouldn't mind having a nikon, but I already invested in canon lenses. Plus, I've used canons for a while now so I'm comfortable with the button layout.

If you guys wanna see some of the photos I've taken with the 20D, follow the link in my sig :)

  5. You are looking at a mint condition Canon 20D. It comes with all original accessories, box, lens, and manual - all of which are in perfect condition. The lens has never been used as you can tell by the pictures. Even the box looks brand new. It also comes with a new battery and a 96MB and 80MB CF card. I am selling because I want to upgrade to a newer body.

I am looking to get $400. Cash only please. Let me know if you guys have any questions. Thanks for looking.

  6. Here's another design. This is more of an inspirational shirt to get out there and ride. I kinda like the outline of ohio with the 'ohio-rider' logo going through it. Maybe the next one I'll place that logo on the front so it'll be directly over the heart. :)
