  1. I'm still in school, but I work for a concrete restoration company, so I'm kinda in a related field...
  2. It's true everything we design is triple redundant and 20 times beefier than it needs to be; this is to compensate for unexpected factors, the idiocy of other people, and Lawyers.
  3. Do you work in an office building? Is it still standing?
  4. Hey IP, I just checked Craig's and yea, good luck finding a bike as fast as mine for under 2k.
  5. Can't rag on us CEs or next time we design one of your offices we'll make sure it falls down on all you arrogant EEs and all you abundantly plentiful and disposable MEs.
  6. You get on craigs list and let me know when you find any ZX-6R that isn't wrecked and is a complete bike for under $1300.
  7. Hey I didn't put the tags there, that was all John.
  8. I'm a first year rider and I feel comfortable with riding with those guys, and when I start to get freaked out then I slow down.
  9. Well I was maintaining the gap between me and John, when all of a sudden Justin whips up beside me and into the gap between John and I. Then he looked like he was trying to pass John, but as I said earlier, John's twin is faster. But I know, it's still a bit shamefull that a v-twin sport touring bike, that is 400cc bigger than my 14 year old 600cc I-4, took me on the straight. That's why I said "screw you Justin."
  10. Ridding with the fast guys this weekend def helped me develop my skills further. This was the first trip where I really got off the bike to go into turns, didn't do it every time, but I only got to that point by watching other guys do it. So thanks to everyone faster than we for letting me learn from you; and screw you Justin and your SV1000, I won't let you pass me again on the straights
  11. There I fixed it for you. The first time I rode twisties was with the Coshocton boys, and I did it on bald tires. I'm pretty sure that was the first Coshocton run of the year, so I hadn't been riding that long, just a month before winter, then whatever I got in before the ride; basically not much experience. But +1 for keep your own pace, they always wait for you at the stop signs.
  12. I said at the very beginning of this thread that if you get any two of us together, the whole conversation goes down hill; that fact was proven today.
  13. I'm pretty sure you tried to pass him a few times but couldn't b/c his v-twin is faster.
  14. Yea that sounds like the type of rides those queer Coshocton guys like, fondling balls and f*ing midget goats.
  15. So Jrmmiii and I Enginerded out today after the Coshocton ride and scared away Schmuckgirl, or Dath Nanino w/e she goes by now.
  16. Sorry for leaving you behind Cheech, no excuses... though I thought that if you had been laying dead on the side of the road that the medics would have responded to my txt (you gave me your # when I was considering moving into you house since my lease was going to expire).
  17. I'm not sure which was scarier, sliding the rear tire on gravel going into turns on the devil road, or just all the crazy ass turns on the second loop, which was decaffeinate more challenging.
  18. Yea that was a crazy drop off, that ended in a wire fence, surprising that he came out ok. We came around the corner right after it happened, braking hard so we didn't run into the truck hauling the boat that was stopped in the middle of the road. Parked our bikes and looked back and He's standing there in the ditch with a big stupid grin on his face.
  19. I still don't understand how we straight lost you Cheech. From what I understand the two of you in the back passed a car, then you waved the guy in the back passed you and then you disappeared. Apparently shortly after he passed you, you went down; but then he turned around to look for you, passed the place where you two passed the car, turned back around and caught back up with us. And at no point did he see you. If that isn't bad luck I don't know what is.
  20. He paid $1200 for his 85 Rebel and I paid $1300 for my 95 ZX-6R!!!!!
  21. So on Monday my brother laid his Rebel down, b/c he leaned it over to far and caught the foot peg, and fractured his right ankle. Here's the link to his profile if you want to give him shit, or be nice, or w/e http://www.ohio-riders.com/member.php?u=3726 But anyways I rode his bike home today from the parking garage he had it stashed at after the accident. Let me tell you that if feels really frickin weird riding a Rebel when you're used to a ZX-6R. When I first tried to put my feet up I couldn't find the pegs till I looked down, and I was pretty shaky before I got used to the feel of not sitting forward and over my feet. The whole way home I was glad to be wearing his gear, because I was embarrassed at how slow his bike was and how loud it was b/c of his loose header. I was sitting at stop lights sounding like a HD when really I'm sitting on this tiny little bike that couldn't out accelerate a civic. I know a Rebel isn't a cruiser, but riding his bike has convinced me that I will never own a cruiser because riding with my feet forward and all the weight so low is not at all comfortable for me; riding streched out just doesn't feel natural. One funny thing is that his bike has a kinda accidental cruise control, b/c his right grip is to tight against something, so it sticks in position. So you can get it up to speed and take both hands off the bars and just ride down the road not doing anything, and maintaining speed. He loves his bike though... proof that he is not right in his head
  22. I had a Lexus (could have been an IS300, not sure) pull even with me on the highway and hold there for about a minute then he down shifted and took off. I wasn't going to let my little 14 year old 600 be shown up by some cage so I kicked it down two gears into 4th and blew past his shiny sports car like it was a Metro.
