  1. Great color! I remember thinking about one of those.
  2. 10.35 sec. quarter mile at 135 mph I think. This was 1984 keep in mind. I remember the time but can't recall the mph. I wasn't rding it. There was a guy we used to ride with called "Odell". He was a very small black dude. He must have weighed 90 lbs. He was fearless on a dragstrip, at least compared to the rest of us. Whenever I staged I almost always stalled off the line. It stumbled with him but didn't stall. He was acually pretty good. Same guy rode my CB1100F with the big bore kit to a 10.27 quarter mile. For me it was always the time not the mph. MPH being more a measure of horsepower. I spent most of my time doing roll-ons. We'd race from a rolling start 30, 40, 50 etc.
  3. Hey I've actually seen families ( 3 people) riding dirt bikes in Costa Rica for transportation. In fact my wife had familiy, recently, critically injured riding 3 up when they were hit by a car at an intersection. Not that I'm implying anything regarding the picture - just brought it to mind. Cool V-rod.
  4. The kits add successively larger turbos resulting in what would have to be some significant turbo lag. The smaller turbos would be much more streetable. Either way very dangerous on any curvy road. I had a 1983 Kaw 750 turbo with a boost kit. The stock bike ran about 7 lbs of boost. The kit pushed it to about 13. Even so off the boost itwas like an anemic 400. On the boost it would outrun any 1100 of that time. The switch from on boost to off was significant, though nothing, I'm sure, compared to this beast. My bike did a 10.35 at edgewater. Hard to launch wthout stalling the bike. I remember armoralling my seat one night. The next morning was unusually cool - which translates into increased boost. As I was merging into traffic on the higway I rolled on the throttle while glancing back for traffic. It hit boost unexpectedly early and I nearly slid off the bike which only caused me to apply more throttle. What a rush-- scared the crap out of me. LOL
  5. The opening scenes of Torque were cool. I'm a conservative rider myself but I'm always in awe of the guys that can drag a knee. However the chick fights - aboard their bikes - without helmets I might add- were way overboard. Not to mention the train scene etc. The jet bike maneuvering thru city traffic - give me a break. I bought the movie without having seen it as well. It's entertaining when I have nothing else to watch.
  6. So do you guys like just wander these roads and put faith in your sense of direction to find your way back or what?
  7. LOL I was just thinking the same thing....
  8. What do you mean "torque" was lame? Jumping onto and off of trains while talking on a cell phone in one hand and a switchblade in the other is commonplace around here.
  9. Hmmm.. Could it be related to your screen name - "Doll face"? Or the fact you are female? Or an "attractive" female? Or an Attractive female that rides bikes? Or an attractive female that rides bikes and can touch the ground?
  10. Look good! Good price based on what I've seen. The company is trying hard to get their line established so you generally will get a good product for the money. I was planning on buying the men's version based on the few reviews I've seen.
  11. My vertigos are definitely snug.
  12. I just bought a pair of SIDI Vertigo's . Well made boots. They run about a half size small for me. I have small feet and generally wear a 7.5 to 8.0 U.S men's. My Sidi's fit a bit snug but otherwise perfect and they are a size 7. The only negative is I lost height due to the thin soles compared to my hiking boots. Short people have no peace.
  13. Yeah - Actually I always thought he seemed kind of small compared to the other guys. In fact that blond girl ... zap I think was bigger.
  14. Nitronick - Weren't you on the original American Gladiators? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,475904,00.html
  15. Ghostrider and I have a lot in common we both own bikes and we're both old..... uh er
  16. Really? My wife is from Costa Rica. Spanish is practically the only language spoken around our house.
  17. I almost bought a solid black one with cream interior at the Auto Livery. It was a 91 I believe. When I test drove it it made a strange noise that didn't sound right. They tried to convince me it was ok.. but I had no desire to pay the repair bills these cars can elicit.
  18. Agreed. we need someone in Cinci. Points well taken. By the way I drove 8 mile earlier this week .. you live in 8 mile right? Couldn't see a trailer.
  19. My sentiments exactly though worded a little differently.
  20. Crap! You can touch the ground. That's better than I can do.
