  1. Just passed 40k on my R1200R and it's been flawless. It's a little lighter and a little quicker steering than the RS. I recently added a German Market Speed Pro exhaust. It saved about 10lbs,has a nice raspy sound, and smoothed power delivery especially at lower rpm.
  2. The 2015+ 1200s have a "Bank Angle Sensor" that feeds info to the ABS and TC. As I remember reading about it, a "Bank Angle Sensor" is essentially a 2 axis IMU. Pretty advanced for 2015, and feels quite similar to the systems on my 2024 MT09 that has every electro-whiz-gadget.
  3. It's showroom condition, 2700 miles (more now), and it already has all the hard to find Honda accessories. Lighter than the GW, with firmer suspension and a touch more lean angle.
  4. So now I've owned motorcycles with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 cylinders. Might be time to start looking for a Boss Hoss.
  5. Just got tires mounted on the new MT09. Decided to try the new Bridgestone T33 due to their lofty claims. I am seriously impressed with the handling and power delivery. The front suspension is fantastic, and it pulls out of corners like a freight train. I added a Puig Touring Screen and a T-Rex center stand. I'm considering adding a top box, but if I do it would be hard to justify keeping the BMW R1200R and after riding it for 40k I have little interest in parting with it.
  6. Both are faster and better handling
  7. I watched a video that showed how to change the air filter, seemed pretty straight forward. It's not due until 24k (same as valves), so I have some time before I have to worry about it.
  8. 2 MT-09s weigh about the same as a Goldwing 🐖
  9. After looking at many motorcycles that would be appropriate for retirement age...I made the mature decision and bought myself a new MT-09. It's light and the steering is really quick
  10. Just sat on one of these at a dealer. I could def live with one of those at a sporty tourer.
  11. Didn't really want to but put the Triumph up for sale to make room for another. Marketplace - 2020 Triumph Street Twin | Facebook
  12. Thanks man My retirement bike will be the same brand as yours...just slower.
  13. That's the name of our golf cart at our campground.
  14. Looks nice. I'm curious to hear how it holds up. I've looked into a few for Android Auto, but would want something a little smaller on a naked bike.
  15. I informed my company on Friday that I am leaving effective 3/14. I did give them an option to pay to retain me as a (very) part time consultant for 90 days to ease the transition. 50/50 if I want to stay on as a consultant or just be done. Wheels are in motion.
  16. Not sure. It works for me. I am not a member.
  17. Congratulations! I plan to inform my company next Friday. Tomorrow I'm going to look at a potential retirement gift for myself.
  18. If I was going to do a lot of 2 up touring, the GW would be at the top of the list. For 1 up I prefer something under 550 lbs.
  19. This is the most comprehensive Federal tax calculator I've found. You can plug in earned income, capital gains, interest, dividends, standard deductions, etc. https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/1040-tax-calculator/
  20. The more important question is...what motorcycle should I buy myself for a retirement gift? 99% I'm retiring in March.
