Also, the comment he made about an easy out or drill being made of brass? What an idiot! He can a metal that much softer cut through steel? Duh!!!
I was wondering the same thing. There's no way any company would ever make an easy out from brass. It doesn't make sense, like you said its softer, and brass is also more expensive than steel.

I never did like the idea of a threaded bolt lug that is recessed into the rim like that as compared to a threaded stud and a lug nut, but damn. There had to have been a better way. When things get that bad and I've tried everything, I just admit defeat and drive it to a shop. I'd rather pay someone else to deal with it than cut my rim apart.

I actually only broke my foot. I was off work for four months because of it though. As soon as I went back I got sent to Arizona and am now looking for a new bike.
-
Oops, I should have looked more thoroughly when I searched. Sorry.

I just heard yesterday that Buell is going out of business, I'm sure it's probably old news and I'm just now getting around to hearing about it, but does anyone have details on when they will stop manufacturing?
Also do you think it's a bad idea to buy one now that the company is going under? I've really wanted an 1125R since they came out and if I don't get it now I wont be able to later.

19%? WTF?? Why would you ever agree to pay that much in interest?
I don't have much credit history. The little I do have is good though. Last time I tried to get financed I couldn't without a co-signer. I kind of expected it to be on the high end. I was told it drops to 10% on a new bike as compared to used, but haven't seen that on paper yet. Again, this is why I'm posting before buying, cause I've never bought anything from a dealership and am new to financing/loans. I do want to build credit history with a loan though so that it will help when I'm ready to make larger purchases like a new truck or a house down the road.
Likwid, there's no reason to be jealous cause I don't even have a bike yet haha. Once I get one people can start being jealous.

KBB retail value is 6700 and maybe ad a few bucks for the extras but nowhere near they 11200 they are asking.
I have been trying to get the wife to move to vegas she will have give in someday.
The asking price was about $7800. $11200 is after tax tag title and 19% financing. Even so it still doesn't sound good from what you guys are saying.
Good luck with convincing the wife, the weather is beautiful here and completely worth the move. Although the company I'm with did pay for me to move so it was a bit easier for me.

lol, my best friend got a v star 1300 black with all kinds of chrome for 8000 otd. his was brand new from rick roush in medina. i was with him. your getting fucked
Well, this is why I posted before buying haha. I've just been itching to get a bike since I got here though. It was a high of 92 yesterday here and every time I see someone on a bike it kills me that I don't have another one yet.

I just moved to Phoenix Arizona about three weeks ago from Toledo, OH.
If anyone remembers my posts from back in June, I hit a semi and totaled my bike and am just now looking to get a new one. Now that I'm in AZ I can ride all year, so although I missed out on riding season in Ohio I can start riding here in Phoenix.
I've been wanting to ride so bad since my accident and may have come across a good deal on a bike, what do you guys think?
2007 Yamaha V-Star
136 miles (no typo, it's actually 136)
1300 cc
passenger backrest
floorboards
toe/heel shifters
holeshot aftermarket dual exhaust
The dealership also agreed to throw in helmet, riding jacket/boots, gloves, and possibly different handlebars since I don't like the stock ones
The price would be roughly $11,200 after all fees, taxes, and financing charges. I haven't tried to talk them down on the price yet, but that may be possible. So does that sound like a decent buy?

NOTHING stops faster than a controlled no skid brake.
NOTHING, not locked tires, not ABS, not dumping the bike.
</thread>
The side of a semi stopped me and my bike quicker than any controlled no skid brake lol.

Glad to hear your doing alright. It's scary to think of what could have happened. Thank God a little road rash was it though.

I was drunk, but beer never gives me a hangover much. I have a huge tolerance so I was good. I pounded them down while watching 2 movies with the wife. I normally grab 2 or 3 at a time and have them next to me. I'm a fast drinker so I have to do that to keep from getting up too much.
I can finish a whole 5th of 80proof liqour in a few hours in one night, but liqour will give me a headache in the morning and a thirst like no other the next morning. I love liqour, but it HATES me.
Last time I had a 5th in one sitting it was nothing but baaaaad news
-
Haha that's awesome. I love shady deals.

Hangovers are actually just dehydration because you pee so much while drinking. Drink
Lot of water right before you go to bed and you shouldn't have to worry about it. Works eve®ytime for me. Also when I got in an accident on tuesday the emt guy told me that the pure oxygen they gav
E me works really well for getting rid of hangovers.
This post is probably messed up cause I'm leaving it on my new blackberry storm and I'm still learning how to use it.

That thing is awesome. All I'm wondering is how they actually got it complete before getting arrested.

You kidding he's gotta be made of steel! Like he said, "God was his gear". Besides, I hope he gets a good laugh, it's the best medicine.
You have no idea how hard I laughed at that. I really think I am going to use that avatar, maybe the name too haha, at least it would have some meaning behind it.
Oh yeah by the way, my last name is Steele.

So can I ask what kind of gear you were wearing...? Brand and materials..?
The only "gear" I was wearing was an HJC helmet. Ironically it was one of those days that I decided to wear my tennis shoes instead of boots cause I was working in the office instead of the field that day. Other than that I was wearing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a short sleeved polo. Like I said before, it's nothing short of a miracle that I wasn't more seriously injured. I truly believe that God was my "gear" that day.
-
You were wearing a bra when this happened? That had to be embarrassing.
Haha, you have no idea man. All I kept saying was please no! Don't cut my shirt off!
-
I don't have to work till July 27th. Too bad it's cause of an accident so I can't ride till then either.
-
Damn! I wish I would have known about that before it got flagged! Haha
-
Wow! Glad you are ok and that you can be so positive about it all. I guess it's hard to see the negative when you came out of this alive huh? Heal soon!
+1 for wearing gear!
It is pretty hard to see the negative. The first thing that I thought after I hit the truck was "Holy s#*t I'm alive!"
Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of the bike and truck tomorrow. You guys should really see how messed up my bike is and how little damage was done to the truck.
-
Glad you are ok.... sucks when it happens cause you dont really even have time to get out "OH SH....". could you have found something bigger to hit?!!!? lol
Haha, I was looking for a train that morning, but after waiting at the tracks for an hour I decided to find a semi.
-
Holy shit man, glad to hear you're ok. Thank god this isn't another RIP thread it well could have been.
I thought I was going to die right before I hit the truck.
I'm ready to hop right back on a bike, but of course the girlfriend and family are all trying to convince me to just buy a new truck instead haha. I've been on craigslist all day looking at potential bikes to buy. I can't wait til my foot heals so I can at least ride my brother's bike.
