    Semi vs. my bike

Haha, you have no idea man. All I kept saying was please no! Don't cut my shirt off!
  2. I don't have to work till July 27th. Too bad it's cause of an accident so I can't ride till then either.

    What a deal!

Damn! I wish I would have known about that before it got flagged! Haha

    Semi vs. my bike

It is pretty hard to see the negative. The first thing that I thought after I hit the truck was "Holy s#*t I'm alive!" Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of the bike and truck tomorrow. You guys should really see how messed up my bike is and how little damage was done to the truck.

    Semi vs. my bike

Haha, I was looking for a train that morning, but after waiting at the tracks for an hour I decided to find a semi.

    Semi vs. my bike

I thought I was going to die right before I hit the truck. I'm ready to hop right back on a bike, but of course the girlfriend and family are all trying to convince me to just buy a new truck instead haha. I've been on craigslist all day looking at potential bikes to buy. I can't wait til my foot heals so I can at least ride my brother's bike.

    Semi vs. my bike

Thanks to everyone for your support. It is amazing that I'm here. As far as the truck driver, I was told that he was really apologetic and worried about whether I was alright or not. It sucks that it happened, but I know that it can't be easy to see a bike from the seat of a semi so I don't hate the driver or anything. The good news, I did want a new bike, I would have much rather just sold mine to get a different one though haha. The second piece of good news is that I've been trying to quit smoking and being in the hospital I was obviously not able to smoke so it got me past the first couple days of having no cigarettes. My mind has been too preoccupied with the pain in my leg and being messed up on morphine to even want a cigarette.

    Semi vs. my bike

The driver was cited, and arraigned in court immediately from what I'm told. My attorney is dealing with all the legal stuff and I'm not really sure how it will all turn out yet.

    Semi vs. my bike

I just got out today, I was in for two nights. Two broken bones in my foot, some mild road rash on my leg and a black thumb nail. It's nothing short of a miracle that I am not more seriously injured. I'm pretty sure that God himself was standing between the semi and me when I hit it.

    Semi vs. my bike

On Tuesday morning I was in an accident on my motorcycle while on my way to work. I wasn't even a 1/4 mile from my house when it happened. Basically a semi failed to yield after stopping at a crossroad. He came across the road into my line of travel and I T-boned him right at his front passenger side tire. There was no sliding into it, I didn't lay the bike down before hand, it was in an upright position when I hit the truck. I flipped over the bars hit the truck with my body, then bounced back onto the road. It was probably the scariest thing that I've ever experienced because I knew that there was no avoiding it and I knew that I was about to hit the truck. It's pretty amazing that I'm actually able to type this thread right now. I very well could have been dead. I know that my helmet helped out a lot being that there was a hole in the side of the trucks fender where my head hit it. My bike is completely totaled out and it will be quite a while before I'll be able to ride again. It was just last week that I was reminding everyone to wear a helmet because my friend just got into an accident. I'm yet another example of living proof that if you're on two wheels you should have a helmet on your head.

    Rider Down

That's exactly why his hand and face got messed up. He instinctively put his hand out to catch himself. Also, thanks to everyone for your concern and prayers. It's greatly appreciated.
  12. Haha, because I have a picture posted of my brother on the back of my friends bike.

    Rider Down

A friend of mine was out riding a few nights ago and was in an accident. A car took a left turn and pulled out in front of him and he T-boned the car. He was put into the intensive care unit and is still currently there. His hand and arm were broken in multiple places, the jaw piece on his helmet shattered and cut up his face, and he suffered a concussion and head trauma. Things are looking pretty hopeful for him as of now, but please remember him in your prayers. He'd be dead right now if he hadn't been wearing his helmet. I know most of you guys wear helmets, but anyone who doesn't should really re-think the decision not to the next time they go out. Be safe out there guys, no one is promised tomorrow.
  14. From what I understand, the information will show up when the run your plates. My buddy recently got pulled over and the first thing the cops said was "where is your helmet?" He told him that he ran his plates and saw that he hadn't had his endorsement a full year. He got off with a warning, but yes, they can tell. That's the part of the reason we have license plates.
  15. AAaahhhh hahahahahaha  I just died laughing at that!
  16. I'll have to check that out. What's it called? Lock-tite is pretty much just a bitch to work with. I don't think there's any advice out there for that. The one thing I can suggest is using a 12 point socket to reduce the risk of stripping it. Other than that, I've got nothing except for.. good luck, and screw the Kawi haters
  17. It covers metric and standard. For example, the #3 die can be used for 11mm and 7/16. The kit I have covers most of the common sizes, but you can buy bigger kits that cover more, or smaller more specific ones. I bought mine last year sometime, so I would assume they still have them out on the shelves and there shouldn't be a problem finding them
  18. Craftsman makes an amazing stripped bolt removing tool. It's similar to how a normal socket works, but it's cut differently so that when you turn it, it cuts into the head of the bolt and grabs it. I work on cars a lot and stripped bolts is a very common occurrence. You can buy different kits that will cover various sizes of bolts, it comes with a chart so that you know which one to use for which bolt size. I think I spent about $20.00 on mine and it covers 3/8 to 3/4. It is well worth the money and have saved me time and money countless times.
  19. Well it's easy for me to do that cause I drive a truck and just like a bike, only have one passenger with me at a time, plus most of the time I just ride with friends cause my truck is a POS. When I do have someone in my truck, yes, I do ask that they wear a seat belt.
  20. Aaahhh hahaha. That's absolutely hilarious. You don't mind if I steal that and start saying it do you? I'll accredit it to you.
  21. At least it's an old bike. Should be easy to replace. I just pulled a '73 honda 750 motor for my friend and it wasn't bad at all. No confusing wiring harnesses on bikes that old.
  22. Shit, I've got it too. I heard there's a new strand of it that spreads through the internet. We're all Fu#*ed now.
  23. I would, but I havn't smoked in a good 5 years now. If I still did, I'd probably be all over that.
