  1. Here's a picture of what happened.
  2. While looking at the back of my bike one day, I noticed that my license plate was slightly split on one side. That split got bigger, and eventually the other side did the same. Just wonder if this has ever happened to anyone else.
  3. Wow, and I thought that I had a bad driving record. My record is the reason I bought a cruiser instead of a sportbike. I got two tickets on my brothers bike last summer and wasn't looking to get more.
  4. Magley64, that's really messed up. You would think he'd give you a warning for doing the honest thing and pulling over when you obviously could have gotten away. He was probably just purposely being a dick.
  5. That would have been nice to have at the time. There's a lot more to the story that I told too, but it's really long and I didn't feel like typing it out. There was probably about 5 other cops there and neither one of them said anything when I told them it wasn't a law. I even asked the other ones and they all just shrugged.
  6. I am in no way one of those people who hates cops and thinks that they are always out to get me, but sometimes some ridiculous stuff happens. Last summer I was on my brothers bike, got pulled over on the highway by a state trooper. He told me that I was not allowed to ride on the highway because I didn't have my endorsement for a full year. I told him the only restriction was that I had to wear a helmet for the first year. We argued about this for a bit, and long story short, he impounded the bike because I was on the highway. I was pretty upset that I had to pay to get it back when it had been impounded for a non-existent law. I have gotten some pretty amazing warnings though for stuff that I shouldn't have gotten away with so I guess it evens out. That's my story. Anyone else ever have a ridiculous and/or funny run in with the cops before?
  7. That sounds like an awesome idea. If I was closer to Dayton I would jump in on that.
  8. I'm not really sure what to do now after reading this thread. Definitely not go to Disney Land after what happened to that other guy.
  9. You could get WERAMI (where am I) or NDAMAP (need a map)
  10. There's an SUV that drives around town where I live that says "IMLOST"
  11. I did see the link you put, but you said that you hate those tires. Is that just cause they are inferior to the more expensive tires or are they just downright bad tires no matter what you compare it to?
  12. Thanks to all for the replies. I was unsure about it so I figured I'd post a thread. My uneasy suspicions have been reinforced and I won't be buying a reman. Especially for my brother's bike, I'd feel pretty bad if something happened to him cause I bought a crap tire. Any suggestions on a half way decent cheap tire?

    Pick the Perp

I got up to around 20 questions and only had 2 right.. "who was in possession of heroin" both times haha. I gave up.
  14. I have been looking for a tire for my brother's bike (180/55zr17) and came across a company that re manufactures tires for bikes. Has anyone ever heard of a re manufactured bike tire before? Has anyone ever used one? I'm just trying to decide if it would be worth it to just spend the extra money to get one brand new. My brother is in pretty desperate need at this point for a tire being that his tread is completely gone and the radials are showing in some spots. Here's the company that re manufactures/sells them, they are about $85.00 including shipping. http://www.cycletires.com/index2.html
  15. Like Nochknstrps said, there are some people who ride them because they are handicapped and can't operate/balance a regular 2 wheeled bike. I used to know an older gentlemen who had ridden most of his life, as he got older he lost his balance and was no longer able to hold a motorcycle upright so he got a trike kit for it. I also saw a guy on one in a parking lot who got off and had to use a walker to keep his balance. Both of these guys were obviously on trikes because of physical handicaps. Aside from that reason I'm not sure why anyone would rather be on three wheels.
  16. I watched that video on Friday right before I left work and have had the song stuck in my head since.
  17. That song is the ring tone set to my phone.
  18. There's definitely no way that you can get in trouble now if he didn't pull you over right then. The only way you can get a ticket without being pulled over is from a red light/speed camera.
  19. I'm not sure if you were responding to my post, but i edited it. After I read back through it again I realized that it wasn't the best advice in the world. the ZZR6 that I started on is an '08. I in no way ever got bored of that bike, but my brother wants to upgrade. Personally I don't even ride a sport bike anymore, it's just what I started on. I'm still going to stick with personal limitations according to experience though. I could ride a 1k, but I don't have to give it everything it's got. That would in turn make it pointless for me to own one and that's why I don't. The one exception that I can think of to this, is if someone has literally never been on a street bike, dirtbike, or anything with a clutch. In that case it would be a lot easier to lose the bike getting it out of first because of incorrect clutch/gas ratio.
  20. My brother and myself both started on his Kawasaki ZZR6. Remember, just because a bigger bike has more power, it doesn't mean that you have to use everything it will produce. It also just depends on how comfortable you are. If you've ridden dirt bikes or even 4wheelers before, you'd probably be fine on a 600. If you have to learn everything like balance, shifting, braking, etc. then maybe you would be better off on a 250 or 500. In my opinion though, as long as you don't exceed your own abilities, the only thing you'll have to worry about is other drivers.
  21. My brother has the '08 Kawi. I rode it all last summer and like it a lot. It's got about 7,000 miles on it now and there have been no problems with it. I don't think it's the most comfortable thing in the world though, although I am 6' 3" so it might be a little better for someone shorter. I think you'll be happy no matter what bike end up getting. As far as those prices go, you should definitely work them down no matter where you buy from. Remember, the economy isn't the best right now, so not as many people are buying bikes, 4wheelers, jetskis, etc., us that to your advantage.
  22. Thanks for the welcome guys.
  23. Walking next to the bike while pushing it instead of sitting on it. My brother bought a brand new bike and had it literally about 45 minutes when one of his friends dropped it doing that. I would have killed him, my brother just said "oh well, it's just a bike, but you're never touching it again" haha.

This is definitely my dream bike. The closest thing I could afford to it is my '85 Vulcan 700. Close enough haha.
  25. I can relate to that. When me and my buddies go mudding in our trucks, mine is usually the one with a strap wrapped around the bumper before we start haha.
