  1. That sounds a lot like my truck, manual everything and paid $300 for it. Can't go wrong with an old beater for under $500
  2. Haha :lol:I never thought about that, that's the GM version of S-10 right? Well, exactly the same truck, different tag on the tailgate I guess. My truck isn't an S-10 or an S-15 but it is kinda unlucky. I'm gonna go with S-13 is = to Ford.
  3. That looks like a good ride. It's on my brother's birthday though. 200 miles sounds like a damn good way to celebrate though

  4. Honestly, I have no idea. I don't remember where I picked it up from. I think I saw it somewhere once, but it's a s/n I've been using for a long time now. I might as well make something up now that you say something, or pick a s/n that actually has meaning. Sorry for the disappointment.
  5. This is a little late, being that I have been a member for about 2 weeks now, but still new none the less. I'm from the Toledo area, (NW Ohio for anyone who doesn't know) I have been riding for about a year now. Just got my own bike over this last winter ('85 Kaw Vulcan 700) but rode my brothers bike ('08 Kaw ZZR6) a lot last summer. I ride a cruiser because the insurance is cheaper and I will end up losing my license or killing myself on a sportbike. Maybe one day I'll get into a sportbike, not now though. I'm looking forward to doing lots of riding this season, and hopefully will be able to go to some events and meet some other riders from the site too. If anyone else is from or passing through the Toledo area I'm always down for some ride time as long as it's above 32 and not raining.
  6. hahaha, WTF? That's almost like saying we don't like people who ride motorcycles around here, on this site.
  7. The one thing that I absolutely HATE seeing is a passenger on the back of someone's bike without a helmet. Not wearing one as an operator is your own choice, you are in control of the bike and anyone who's ever ridden a street bike knows that cars try to hit you all the time for no good reason. It's bad enough to not wear one yourself, but allowing a passenger to go without one is just ridiculous.
  8. Yeah, new paint is a bad idea. I'm considering painting my bike orange sometime this summer.
  9. I'll have to hook up with you guys on a ride sometime then.

  10. Hmm, I noticed you ride a sportbike, and the DTC is probably made up of sportbikes right? Do you allow cruisers?

  11. If they think that pigs are unclean, and it's called the swine flu, shouldn't they just be saying "we told you so"?
  12. You're the guy who does DTC right?

  13. I didn't see any boat. I did see what might be a beer though, making the situation even better haha. That was pretty funny.
  14. My friend has a '73 honda 750 that is having problems with the transmission. The first time I took it out it was having a really hard time going from 2nd gear back to 1st. It was like it hit a wall and you would have to slam the shifter down to get it back to first/neutral. Then it wouldn't stay in 2nd gear from first, you would have to hold the shifter up with your toe to make it stay in 2nd or it would fall back out of gear into neutral. I was told by a friend that it is a common problem with older 750's that the shift forks go bad. I don't know much about transmission, but that sounds like it could be accurate. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on it?

Are you Zack S? If so, I didn't know you had a profile here. If not, I'm in Toledo too, we should ride sometime.
  16. Oh yeah, I almost fly off the back when I get on it! I can't keep the front wheel on the ground! Haha yeah right, my bike is slower than a hover round in wet cement.
  17. I havn't had good luck with plates at all. I lost my 30 day tag for the bike after my 3rd ride so I just rode with no plates for the rest of the 27 days (very surprisingly without getting stopped) I somehow had the sticker for my trailer on my truck plates one time and almost got arrested because of it. My front plate on my truck got completely mangled one time and I have no idea how it happened. I think I'm just going to make a completely sealed plexi glass container for my plate and then put in on a small trialer behind my bike so nothing can happen to it haha.
  18. + 1 My brother got stopped by a cop who rides a gsxr1000 and he just told him that he needs to be more careful and gave him a warning. Just because a cop rides a bike and also issues tickets to bikes doesn't make them a hypocrite. If anything, they are probably more understanding and know the laws better.
  19. I have another story where a cop (for reasons that I can not explain) gave me a warning. I'm going to make this long story short. I was traveling waaaay way too fast down the highway at night with only my temporary permit at the time. That's three different violations. I turned off of my exit and was cruising along when a motorcycle flew past the van behind me. I didn't know it was a cop 'til he was next to me yelling at me to pull over. After he ran the plates/id/etc. he got back on his bike, put his helmet on and just said "I bet you didn't expect a cop on a motorcycle did you?" then pulled away. I just stood there in amazement that he didn't ticket me and impound the bike. Keep in mind I was on the highway, at night, speeding, with only temps.
  20. There is actually a law in Ohio against ticket quotas. I would search for it but I'm lazy. There was a cop talking about it, basically what he said is: There are no longer quotas, however cops do get a big pat on the back if they bring in the most tickets, and are recognized if they get the most during the month. So although there aren't actual "quotas" cops do get rewarded for giving more tickets.
  21. The circle idea would probably work well. I think I'm going to try to get the DMV to give me a new one for free though being that I have only had it about a month and a half. If they don't I'm just going to weld it together haha.
