  1. SFC Bradley Hughes, 41, of Newark, died Sunday (24 April) of a non-combat incident in the Kandahar Province of Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday. He was assigned to the 528th Sustainment Brigade in Fort Bragg, N.C., according to a news release.

He was one of the recruiters in Newark when I joined the Army in 2003. Went to National Trails with him and some other recruits. I also ran into him a few times at the Hartford Fair after basic training. He was a really good guy and I'm honored to have know him. It saddens me and pisses me off when this kind of thing happens to someone I knew. Stand down SFC Hughes, your mission is complete. Rest In Peace Brother.

  2. well, he pulled him over for no front plate. yet said he saw him without his belt while he was driving, even though it was on when he walked up... didn't get the ticket for no plate though.

Well if he pulled him over for the plate, then that would be reason enough. He chose to cite for the belt and not the plate. My guess anyways.

  3. bullshit. If they have a cell phone, they are choosing their cell phone over feeding their family. If they have cable, they are choosing cable over feeding their family. If they have a car worth more than $10,000 they are choosing some sort of luxury over feeding their family.

There are a lot of "poor" people who have a ridiculous amount of non-essential luxury items ranging from designer clothes, to 22" rims, to gold goddamn teeth.

I will publicly offer up my services to any "poor" family feeling the pinch from gas prices. First we'll review their spending and see where they can find more money to pay for gas. If they're actually being fiscally intelligent, I will personally drive them to and from work on a daily basis. I would be shocked if I end up giving anyone a ride.

I wouldn't say cell phone. Many, like myself, don't have home phones. Not having one can really screw you over. Now if you have a smartphone with all the extras on the plan, than yeah you could say that.

  4. Sorry for the couple hours the site was closed. I was testing the sync and failover. There were a few bugs, but I'll get them worked out. All in all, it was pretty smooth. I did find out, however, that you all freaking CRUSHED the backup box. There were 40 or so people who just kept hitting refresh. Definitely need something a bit more powerful. CPU loads were in the 60.XX range. LOL

Well thanks for bearing with me on this. If I get this this to work smoothly, we won't have anymore outages.

Guilty on the refresh button. Lmao

  5. My bike gets about 40mpg and the car gets 23.8mpg.

I have FuelLog on my phone and you input your odometer, fuel volume, and volume price and it figures a bunch of stuff out for you. For instance, on average it costs me 14 cents per mile, 7.11mi per dollar, average of $199.29 per month and and average of 17.239 per year. Pretty cool app actually.

A people that values its privileges above its principles will soon lose both.

    I love these quotes.

  7. clicked on page 3 and scrolled down real fast so that I wouldn't see other's answers.

I would say the States came first. They then joined as the UNITED STATES .

Now, the real question to mull over is chicken or egg.... can't have one without the other...so which came first if that is even possible.

Egg. You did not specify if it was a chicken egg. Dinosaurs laid eggs therefore the egg came first.
