Depends upon that state's laws. Reciprocity means that that state honors your Ohio CHL - you still have to follow their laws. If it's legal there, you can, even if you can't in Ohio.
Yeah, I have carried in restaurants that serve alcohol in WV, legally, even though I can't carry in restaurants here. WV honors my OH permit.
It will. Strickland is now the NRAs boy.Just sucks we will have to prolly wait till after new years for this to happen.
He said if it passes, he WILL sign it. Just didn't give a time frame.

I carry a Benchmade 5000sbk, it's one of their auto knives, same one you can get issued from the Army if you're really cool with your supply NCO. Carried both it and one of the next gen KA-BARs in Iraq, only the KA-BAR in Afghanistan. Both very nice and durable knives. The Benchmade does need some work though. Then there's the assortment of odds and ends folding and fixed blade knives, too many to list here but my favorite beside the Benchmade and the KA-BAR would have to be the SOG Seal Pup, it's well balanced and it has kind of a uniquely shaped blade.
Yeah we tried to order them while I was in Iraq, and my supply NCO and I were really cool, he just couldn't get em.
Instead we got stupid gerber folders, Don't remember the model. I hated the over molded rubber handle on it.
***EDIT: re-read OP, I have the mini Leatherman with me most all the time.I know you're military, but auto knives can also be sold to "collectors",
if one is not military or LEO... Laws vary by state. I believe you're allowed to own an auto knife in Ohio, regardless of your currrent or former profession, you just can't sell one. Go figure. I could give you mine, and then sell you my half-eaten sammich for $300...
I have the Benchmade 3300 Infidel, auto, otf, stainless. Next time we're going to be at the same place I'll bring it along and let you fondle it, see if you like it.
+1 on the Ginsu! Have 3 - one in the barn, one in the garage, and one in the kitchen. Cut through whatever you want, stay as sharp as the day I got them.
Also have various assorted pocket knives, a mini Leatherman, and a fixed blade I saw at Harbor Freight for $9; conceals matches, sewing kit, fishing line & hook, safety pins, buttons in the handle, and has a compass.
Forgot about "collectors". I'm pretty sure you can carry autos in Ohio. I really would like to fondle yours when I see you.
Come to a gunshow with us once in while there are several dealers there with those.Yeah I have seen them at shows before, I just can't justify the cost at this point.
http://www.knifetests.com/BussefFFBMtestpage.htmlwww.knifetests.com does some cool tests with knives and rates them. Vids are available on their website
Sweet link. Thanks, I'll check it out more later.
My SOG Desert Dagger is by far the best knife I've owned. It's been used extensively. When i seperated i had it cleaned polished and honed.I like that a lot.
Rollo. ThinkGeek titanium spork. $9Awesome.

I figured this was better placed in the firearms section. I want to know what you carry, what you have and what you want. I'll start.
I used to carry this but has seen a lot of abuse in Iraq and the army. The blade needs some serious work. CRKT M16
Bought this in Iraq as well. Gerber Guardian Back-up.
Carried one of these in Iraq, now it is just a backup knife at the house and camping knife. KA-BAR.
This I always wore while I was in the army, now it serves more as a camping tool or when I think I may need a multi-tool while I am out and about. Leatherman Wave.
I really want to pick one of these up. Benchmade 3550SBK Auto opener. For sale (from stores/dealers) to military and law enforcement. Heavy duty and high quality.

Can't say about the range rules for certain. I have seen kids clearly under 16 in that range with their parents shooting rifles and handguns but I don't know if the guns were personal or rented. As for what caliber guns to start him with, I would recomend starting with a .38 revolver and a 9mm semi-auto. If and when he's comfortable with those, move up to .40 and .45 ACP. With all of the first time shooters I've taken to the range, that's how I started them and we moved at their pace. They all had a great time, learned alot about gun safety, and a few even changed their stand point on "no guns for civillians ever." Point being, start small-ish and work you way up with him untill he reaches his comfort zone in terms of both caliber and type, revolver or semi-auto.
Yeah, if you scare them with the first gun they shoot, they wont ever want to shoot again.
-
I'm not telling you about parenting, but my daughter is 3 years old. She already knows not to touch my guns or ammo. As soon as I feel she is trustworthy and mature enough she will begin shooting under my supervision. She is usually with us when we shoot so she sees the damage and hears the noises. A child familiar with firearms wont be curious with them and possibly do something dumb.
anyways, I'd recommend a friend with land and guns. Then you guys can shoot at your own pace and not the ranges. You can take your time with the training. But that might not be an option for you. I don't ever go to ranges so I don't know of any to tell you. my .02.

Wow, lucky dude!
This cracked me up:
“I just ran to him with this great big grin and said, ‘Simon, shake my hand. I’ve just punched a polar bear right in the nose!’” Werbowy recalls. -
Awesome, now post up the next challenge.
Yeah, hurry it up

Glad you're okay man!

t's not right across the street, either. It's a couple blocks away.
It's not a deliberate move to slap America in the face, the cultural center is being opened by Americans.
Who says this?
Who says this?
Who says this?
Who says this?
I can't really quote the rest, because it's almost all bullshit. This isn't a "liberal vs. conservative" issue.
There are plenty of close minded liberals who think that Islam attacked us on 9/11, too. But the fact of the matter is, this cultural center is being built by Americans, primarily for American muslims. They're on the same side as you.

I
t is well known by Pro-Lifers but not by the general public. The MSM has done everything to keep it that way. We must help get the fact out that Barack Obama strenuously defended the indefensible at least three times. The procedure is frequently called “Live birth abortion” but it is not really an abortion at all:
“... doctors do not attempt to kill the baby in the uterus. The goal is simply to prematurely deliver a baby who dies during the birth process or soon afterward.” [1]
Obama… “refused as an Illinois state senator to support legislation to protect babies who survived late-term abortions because he did not want to concede — as he explained in a cold-blooded speech on the Illinois Senate floor — that these babies, fully outside their mothers’ wombs, with their hearts beating and lungs heaving, were in fact “persons.” [2]
“On the Illinois Senate floor, Obama was the only senator to speak against the baby-protecting bills.” [2]
Obama fought it for three years as a Illinois state senator, even after it passed 98-0 in the US Senate as the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. [3]
Barack Obama fought it even after NARAL “…released a statement that said, “Consistent with our position last year, NARAL does not oppose passage of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.” [4]
Barack Obama goes way beyond “choice on abortion”. This is outright murder that he wanted paid for with our tax dollars. Voters must take into account just how radical Obama is when every democrat and even NARAL went against him. Voters must soberly consider where Obama wants to lead this Nation.
Obama has repeatedly proven that he does not respect the life of born children. How can we honestly expect him to respect ours.

Congrats, welcome to OR. You'll enjoy it here.

CG2112 and the rest of the liberals,
Technically, no, its not "at ground zero". But you're playing semantics here. Its right across the street. Same difference. Research the imam who is behind this "project". Its a deliberate move to slap America in the face.
Liberal "tolerance" baffles me. I think you just like to disagree for the act of disagreeing and being a thorn in someones side. "We're accepting and open-minded. We accept homosexuality, but condemn the soldiers that protect that freedom. We support gay marriage, but think that traditional marriage is a sham. We support "green" projects and want to save the trees, but its okay to suck out a babies brain at 30 weeks old then vacuum it from its mothers womb. We support the right to bash religion because we don't agree with it, but don't support the other people's right to practice their religion (but again, "We're open-minded"). Oh wait, unless they're Muslim, then we welcome them in, just to irritate people like we do. Everyone is equal, everything should be fair. Whats mine is mine, and whats yours is mine, if and WHEN I want it. Everyone should be able to come and go across our borders freely, despite their motives. Etc etc etc. Liberals are actually much LESS tolerant than conservatives. I don't care if you're gay, but don't understand why you have to put stickers on your car to tell everyone about it. Is that your "identity"? Really? If you don't like my religion, thats fine. I'm not going to push it on you, but I'm not going to hide it or be ashamed of it either. I will protect it. This country is great because of the founding fathers. Brilliant men with an incredible vision. And liberalism is the complete antithesis of their visions. Hard work, individualism, and opportunity make us great. Liberals want none of that. They want to get paid to sit on their porch and mooch off of the workers, but still have the same lifestyle and resources as those workers whose paychecks they raid. Only in America do the "poor" have cell phones, flat screen TVs ("but its only a 32 inch"), cars, and plenty to eat. The welfare recipients aren't the ones suffering right now (but will soon, since Congress just raided welfare to keep all of their voting teachers employed, no matter what, so they can continue to push their socialism onto our kids), its the unemployed. People who want to work, who don't want a handout, and who are mortified at having to ask someone for food or help.
Liberals claim to be exactly the opposite of what they are. They're more vicious, more cynical, less forgiving, and less tolerant than most other people. Watch Olberman, or SNL, or Maddow. They're hateful and "mean". They sound like middle-schoolers. "Did you see what she was WEARING??", "And that funny accent!", and "She said she can see Russia from her house. What a dumbass!" when in fact nobody (Palin) ever said that. Can't even discern between truth and their own comrades' attempts at "humor" (Tina Fey).
It must be so simple to be a liberal. Facts don't matter, "feelings" matter.
Sad.
I like to think that we'll survive this administration/ congress because we ARE America. I pray about it every day.
quoted because I like this post. Some feathers will be ruffled.

I don't have anything to add other than this was on the homepage, which I thought was ironic.Bikers taunt bleeding cop after wreck
A state trooper is cut off and intentionally wrecked, then taunted by bikers as he lay trapped, injured, and bleeding.
I haven't even looked at anything else on the site, will have no do that later.
