  1. Make your own solar panels?

I see this is following the pattern for all the other daily ZOMGBUGOUTSHTFWTFBBQ!!!! threads. Start off innocently enough talking about survival techniques, and end with a dick waving discussion about the type of gun to bring or how you can pick off a mosquito in Louisiana from the top of the Empire State Building with your AR15 with 2000 pounds of tactical gear bolted on it, and since it works in video games how you'd carry 5000 rounds of ammo, a chainsaw, rocket launcher with 100 rockets, shotgun with 300 rounds, medkit, berserker kit, and quad damage while traveling with the greatest of ease.

Can we have a SHTF subforum already so this shit stays off the front page?

  2. Nice thought for the cargo container house guy to "test" the metal at 100 yards with a .22LR rifle. While it maybe a very common round, not sure how well the metal house would do against a higher caliber round at a closer distance. Or against multiple attackers.

a .22 at 100 yrs? You might do more damage by throwing a rock at it.

  3. Krystyn and Holly, Good to hear both are you are getting your CHLs. Carry and train whenever possible.

My reasoning for lights or a tracer is if someone does break in my HOME I dont have a lot of places to hide or shelter myself if they have a weapon. I want them to be aware right away that my gun is aimed in the middle of their chest. Also obviously the light will hinder them from actually seeing my face or portion of my body.

A weapon mounted light will illuminate the intruder but it also shows where you're at. It's good to have as a backup if needed, but a secondary light in your off hand is safer. You can hold it FBI style, up and away from your body, so that if they shoot at it you will be less likely to be hit. A strobe function is also good as disorienting them.

A laser for a CCW is kind of pointless, especially if it's not integrated you'll just increase the size of the firearm and make it more difficult to conceal. Plus that's just one more thing you'll be worrying about in a critical incident when you should be concentrating on the fundamentals.

  4. Agree we don't know the situations leading up to some of them but take away the uniforms and the cops look like the thugs that need arrested. This video was made to look like this.

Keyword "look". I have brought this up before but this is why officer actions are judged my the standard of a reasonable officer and not a civilian.

Its easy to look at a video and think you know what's going on, but you don't see the rest of the video or know why they got arrested. If you're getting arrested obey the commands and you won't get made to comply by force.

Yeah there are good and bad cops, just like EVERY other career field.

  5. Right if you have the correct balance of fish and plants you don't need to inject carbon dioxide. Also things like a bubbler and surface agitation play a part in your oxygen and c o 2 levels. I run minimal filtration and little to no surface agitation. I also don't hardly

Vacuum the substrate much because I wanna get it almost self sustaining.

  6. Beautiful tank! I've always wanted to try a planted tank, but have been weary since it's a whole different science than saltwater.

I decommissioned my 65gallon reef (downsized to 30gal cube) and have been thinking of using it to make an ohio biotope tank with some bluegill and such. If they get too big I can just put em in the pond out back and catch some littluns to start over.

Thanks. Its really not as difficult as I thought, not much more rime spent on it than my non planted 50 gallon. Lighting and fertilizer are key really. I've got some decent growth coming in. Actually had to clip off some and replant.
