The weather forecast looks like it is riding weather up to Christmas weekend.

Every day is a good day to ride

Sweet. I have been thinking a 300 would make a fun commuter.

Scam Alert. If it seems to be too good to be true, it is.

Have not kept track of mileage over the years. On the current bike I have logged over 68000 miles in 4 years 7 months. This averages about 40.6 miles per day.

Avon Storm 2 Ulta tire offer excellent wet traction on my ST1100. I get about 15k on the rear and 22k on the front. The downside is these tires create a significant front end wobble - only a problem if you don't keep your hands on the grips.

I ride as long as the temp is above mid-teens and the roads are clear of ice. Electric gear is wonderful.

I picked up a new helmet and bluetooth comm system. I spoke to Jon. He is a good guy and has a great attitude. I wish him all the best.

The KTM is bad but who can argue with a Guzzi?

The level of support of Iron Pony for one of its employees is to be commended. I will make it a point to go to the Pony on Saturday and buy something I didn't know I couldn't live without.

Last weekend was perfect for riding. Unfortunately, it was also perfect for getting some outside work done around the house. With that said, I was able to get out for a short ride. The ST1100 has turned over 100,000 miles. Once the majority of the riding season is over, I need to replace the timing belt and send by Alpinestar boots to get new soles. Historically, my bike gets put up around mid-December until early February - barring days with clear roads and high temperatures above freezing. Riding to work and home in the dark with temps below freezing is not especially fun. Riding on snow- and ice-covered roads is a non-starter for me - unless I get caught in it. Nothing like slick surfaces to ensure precise throttle, brake and steering inputs. When do you typically put your bike up?

Plenty of riding days left this year. Don't throw in the towel so soon.

I have found I get better fuel economy based on the brand of fuel. Valaro, Speedway and a few other ethanol blends result in lower MPG than BP, Sunoco and other first tier brands.

Just ride it.

If you want to play racer, do it on a race track not on public roads. Sounds like lessons learned from this are use your rider radar, don't override your line of sight and practice proper braking technique.

It takes two parties to create and escalate an incident. Be the better person and walk away.

The ARC is a fun class too. With a small number of instructors and approved sites, the number of classes is limited. as with all Motorcycle Ohio classes, they are a great value.

Rider education and training could have saved these lives.

Congratulations on completing the course. When instructing an MSF course, quite often I find the 'experienced' riders are far worse than the new or inexperienced riders. Old, bad habits die hard.

A good question to ask is why were you unable to avoid it? Too close to the vehicle in front of you? Overriding your headlights? Inattention?
