Sinner: An old school bobber is where my ideas are taking me too. I figured I can kill two birds with one stone. Sharpen the mechanical skills and wind up with a nice classic bobber.
bluebird: That bike is way too pretty from what I'm going to do to it Thanks though, it is a sharp looking bike.

The CB 550 I have needs a little cosmetic work, but it has that classic cafe racer potential and that awesome four into four megaphone exhaust. needs some mechanical work but runs, sunfaded original tank with the orange striping and no dents at all. I am reasonable on price, and the bike just oozes classic, that's why I couldn't say no when I bought it myself.
What year is it and do you have any pics of it?

I have an 82 CB900 that is not running, but it also does not have a title. I would take $350 for it. http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1809305402.html
Looking for something mid-70's or earlier. For an odd reason that I can't explain I'm facinated with kick-start bikes and I know I'm not going to get over it until I get one and work it out of my system. Thanks though.

What I meant is that with anything we have (besides our active project), you'd be looking at a frame-up build, instead of just fixing an otherwise complete bike. You'll probably have a more pleasant start if you watch craigslist for one like we just found: We got a 1981 Yamaha Maxim 650 that a guy had started moving from an untitled whole bike onto a titled frame for $200. Needed carb work, some cosmetic stuff, and a little electrical babysitting- everything else was just unbolt, move, bolt on.
Ah okay, now that we're both clear as mud, you're right. Craigslist or something else would be a better idea, thanks for the input though.

No worries

I apreciate the info on the ready-to-go bikes but that's the opposite direction from what I'm looking for. My fault for not being more clear in my original post.

Sorry, 'we' in this case refers to myself and my roommate, Hob13-- we're acquiring a fairly large pile of old and/ or dead bikes, either for us to work on or to part out. Sounds like none of what we have would interest you right now, since the only one that is a more or less ready-to-go bike is the one we're currently restoring ourselves
Actually I don't care if it runs or not, non-running would be better in fact. I'm trying to improve / sharpen my mechanical skills and it may sound strange but the best way I know how to learn anything is to dive in head first and figure it out as I go along. Since I don't want to experiment with the bike I ride everyday, I figured an old non-running bike that I can work on is just the ticket. So actually you might have something along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Large Man with Dead Body: Who's that then? The Dead Collector: I dunno, must be a king. Large Man with Dead Body: Why? The Dead Collector: He hasn't got shit all over him.

I'm currently selling a 1978 CB550K with clean title, if that would interest you.
I'd deffinatly be interested in taking a look at it, I'm open to all ideas and suggestions right now.

We have a ton of stuff-- how complete are you looking for? We've got frames and engines and such for a couple of different models.
I'm not looking to build a bike from scratch, that'll come later. Looking for something closer to a restoration project. Something to fix up and possibly bob out, depending on the bike. You'll have to forgive me but when you say "We have a ton of stuff" who is "We"?

Since sportbikes didn't come into being until the 80's.... I think you're safe there
Just trying to keep all the bases covered.

Anyone know of any vintage bikes for sale? I'm looking for a project so a bike that needs work and attention is a plus. Make and model is not a huge issue so long as it's more cruiser than sportbike. Looking for mid 70's and earlier. Thanks for any suggestions.

Very nice. My dad had a 1972 CB100 if I remember correctly. He used to put me on the gas tank and cruise around when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Good times.

I agree. I'm all for making sure that people are here legally, but those who are here illegally are entitled to the same Constitutional protections as the rest of us.
Furthermore, being here illegally shouldn't result in being beaten into retardation.
If a person does the crime on US soil then the same Constitutional rights we have as citizens apply to non-citizens whether they're illegals or vacationers from the Netherlands with a tourist visa. That being said, i agree that just being here illegally shouldn't result in being beaten to retardation. Being here illegally should result in being deported but that seems to be one of the little hic-ups in our country's imigration policy. An adult beating or abusing a child, sexually or otherwise, is what should result in a swift ass kicking, by convicts in prison or some up-standing civic minded citizen. I will say though that it sounds like the prison officials were partly to blame by turning a blind eye. On the flip side, no matter how locked down a prison is, convicts will find a way to put a hurting to someone if they really want to.

You have my condolences. R.I.P. Chachi

You could just do the Wing Zing this Saturday at 3pm (LC)
I like this idea, however I think I'm still going to plan a day ride around some of the wings places.
-
I'd have to say Gallos Tap Room on Bethel (I think). They're nice and meaty and the cockfight sauce rocks!
Their cockfight sauce is awesome, I put it on my burgers and wings .
-
thurman's also has good wings, even though they are known for their burgers
I know all about Thurman's awesome burgers, didn't know they had wings though

So the consensus so far is BW3 is good, Hooters is bad, and some odds and ends places. I kind of agree with Hooters but it's been so long since I've had their wings that I couldn't make a fair judgement now. I've never actually had wings from BWW. For wings I tend to stay away from chain restraunts although I might try them now. QSL has pretty good wings and I'll have to try the wings from Benny's Pizza. If people bring up many more one-off wings places I'm gonna have to set aside a day to ride from place to place. Sort of a day long wing crawl.
