    walking dead

Dale was my boy... Now it's got to be Glenn.
  2. I learned to ride motorcycles on a cruiser, riding a Skirtster home from Farrow's 23 years ago. Learned to wrench on a Harley, and the brother became a Harley mechanic for C&A as well. Now we both have sportbikes because cruisers are just that little bit too slow.. Haha!! Welcome!

    Sigh....
  4. I currently have an Arai Corsair RX7, X-Lite (Nolan), Shoei RF1100, and two Suomys. My latest helmets are the Suomys, and there are two for a reason. They are the most comfortable of the bunch and are quieter by far than the Arai. Very happy with them.
  5. I just read every post here. I have no idea why, but it killed a lot of time. Think I'm going to lurk on the peni thread now...
  6. I really can't stand it when people say things happen for a reason. I can't fathom the reason... Thoughts out to the family, and your son is a wise and kind soul.
  7. I don't wait. I once got off a scooter to get the car behind me to pull forward to trigger the sensor- she freaked that a biker (on a 50cc scooter) was walking towards her, and caused an accident pulling around the bike and into the intersection. She got the ticket too. Now, I look left, right- and all around to see if I see the PoPo, and go.
  8. Chicks dig Italian bikes. Only reason I can get a girl to give me a second glance. Hope it's working for you too! Welcome...
  9. Sorry~ Didn't know the background story. Removed.

  10. I didn't. Bring a delicious puppy, and it'll be a partay.
  11. The top speed wasn't that much different. Biaggi hit 325kph on the straight. The BMW of Melandri and the Kawasaki of Sykes were within a stone's throw in the high teens and low twentys. Add to that that Laverty didn't get the same speed, with a contract that stipulated equipment parity... He had the best line with the best drive onto the straight is the story that made the most sense to me. And chicks dig Aprilias.
  12. A coworker, Jen, hid in a stainless cabinet and yelled out at me as I went to pick out a lens from storage. Startled, but without a moments hesitation, I turned around, farted, and shut the cabinet door back on her. I think I won this round in pranks.
  13. I've got the DVR set, and my brother is coming over at 6:00. I've already seen the race though thanks to www.la7.it. Just have to overlook the commentary in Italian. I knew the what the fastest bike would be...
  14. Drop a line if it's still around in two weeks. It's perfect for my set up, but not this week or next with the $$$. I want to get to the track a couple of more times this year, and a Dragon trip or three as well...
  15. I had a Sigma 24-70 f2.8 that I used for weddings for 3 years. Excellent lens that can be picked up inexpensively. I have shot with the Nikon version too, and it is noticeably contrastier, but in the age of Photoshop, little difference does that make. I also used the Sigma 10-20 to do interiors for the Grandview libraries, and it served it's purpose well.
  16. Those who know me know I have no class...
  17. Says the guy on the minibikes.... We just refocused on used camera gear this January, and have picked up business exponentially compared to the same timeframe last year. It was a little lost after Gary left, but we brought several strong people over. Jeff is there with the sole purpose of building the used business, and we now have my friend Zach there too. Pretty strong and personable crew. Pricing for a new slr would be around $500 as the starting point. Used, I just sold a Sony A700 for $250, which the buyer got a hell of a deal. Got a Pentax K20 that's going to have an excellent price out the door too. A guy who barely used it traded it in for a new D7000. Because it's the newest and greatest... Feel free to pm any questions. I've been doing this for years, working large format cameras doing commercial work, medium format Hasselblads doing weddings, and now digital doing weddings. Spent two years teaching it too.
  18. I'm a manager over at the 5th Ave. Cord. We're the only Cord with used gear in the area. Stop by, say hi, and flash the official OR hand sign (the minivan) and I'll try to hook you up. I'm a Nikon guy myself, because if you were working Pro in the late 80's & 90's- Canon was a joke to the serious shooter. Guess what was claimed as superior- the glass. Chicks dig Nikons. That's all I'm saying. Aprilia's too for that matter.

    helmet opinions

I currently own a Suomy Spec1R, an Arai RX-7 Corsair, and an X-Lite 901. The most comfortable is the Suomy, hands down. It's the quietest too. That said, the X-Lite is my wet weather helmet. It came with a Pin-Lock set up which is awesome when mist or fogging might be an issue. It was comfortable, and did well for two seasons before I got the Suomy. The Arai is my beater. Loud. As. Hell.
  20. Thanks for the post. I could certainly appreciate a program like this, as my daughter is coming of that age. Cheers!
