  1. Well I canceled PIRC days today. Weather just looked too crappy, I've done my share of days in the rain already this year.

Sooo...wife has a doctors appointment Monday. As long as the doc doesn't tell her he thinks the baby is coming earlier I'm going to try and squeeze this trip in. Not sure if I'll ride all 3 days or not. Need to figure out how much time I can afford to take off for this.

  2. I believe I did, we'll find out for sure this weekend. It held temp in the garage idling/revving for about 20 minutes.

Don't ask what it was, just assume it was super complicated and only a master mechanic could've figured out such a serious issue. And then realize it was the exact opposite of that.

  3. Anyone going? I'll be there both days. I wanted to hit up some other tracks but with a kid due in October and a bunch of other crap going on, this may be my last weekend.

I'll be there with my father-in-law in an RV parked in spot 11. (Shout out to Randy for hauling my ass to the track since I know he lurks around the forum to see what's going on!)

  4. I'm still up in the air about this. . I'd love to go, but I don't have enough days left to do all 3. It's also getting time where my kiddo could be born. It would be early, but possible. I think I'll decide after the wife's doctor's appointment on the 19th. And I also have a possible work trip that I'd have to be leaving for on Monday the 26th. Hmmm. Basically I have no idea what's going on yet.

  5. I believe Ryan (white saturn) and Dan (white gmc truck with grey trailer) are already there. Said they were pitted a little farther down than usual. Closer to the area of the map you circled, but not all the way to the end.

I won't be there till about 9. If you haven't found them already, look for a green/white Southwind rv pulling a black trailer around 9.

  6. Well 2 675's are loaded in the trailer and I'll be heading down Friday at some point, probably be there late as usual.

One of these 675's is a rare 2012 Pandarrrrr edition, and will be offered for sale. You'll have the opportunity to feast your eyes on it, touch it, rub it, sit on it, and even take it for a test ride. (Cash in hand or your first born child will be needed as collateral.) Potential buyers will love the 2-tone black/white panda paint complete with pandeyes. This is the only 2012 Pandarrrrr you'll find with this additional option on this paint color.

It has a few small mods, because if you know the Pandarrrrr you'll know it comes with everything you need and tons of mods aren't necessary. Ohlins, Brembo, quick-shifter, its got all the kit.

The bidding war will start at $6500 for the lucky owner of this rare bike.

  7. I'm planning to head down Friday night. I'm on the east side of CLE (Mentor), and have room for 1 more in my trailer if anyone needs a ride. I've got canopy/tools/chairs etc. if anyone needs a spot to pit.

Currently only planning to ride Saturday, but that may change. I'll probably camp out Saturday night and drink beer.

I have about 30k on her right now give or take. Just did the valve check, all fluids changed, new chain, sprockets, new stator and rectifier, and tires before this year's GAP trip. Had a questionable owner before me. Shes back to being in a garage and being taken care of again.

You remember what she had on her when she left your hands?

Glad to hear...last time I saw it was at the GAP trip and it was looking pretty dirty.

I think it had a little over 13k on it when I sold it. Rode that bike from Ohio to Florida and back, had a hell of a time doing it but would never do it again without some riser bars and a throttle lock.

  9. Watched the races live on an Amazon Firestick I "unlocked" myself. (Just did a bunch of google searching to figure out how to do it) Quality was ok, but not great. Good enough to watch.

The only downfall is I think I can only stream it live, so for the races at 5 am I'm probably out of luck. Haven't figured out how to watch ones that are already completed yet.

  10. Somebody like this doesn't buy the track without checking into epa rules and regs first. If they are planning to fix up the track, repair/rebuild or otherwise improve the facility, repave the track, remove tires or anything like that, permits were checked on before the purchase was made. The sale was under contract for a long time with the buyer having an option to back out if the epa or anything else was going to prevent him from moving forward as planned. The guy is a commercial real estate developer, I'm sure he thought of this stuff before plopping down 500k or whatever the purchase price was.

But I will believe the Nelson stuff when I see it actually happening.  Too many times we've been disappointed...

Have you seen what's going on there? I think we have at least some reason for hope. Can't comment on whether or not the new owner will make it motorcycle friendly or not. But more has happened in the week or so since we've confirmed it was finally sold than the last 5 years since I've been going there. The old barn was leveled in 1 day. I'm pretty sure the rest of the buildings will follow if they haven't already. I've heard the old bridge is coming out too, it's been deemed unsafe. Not to say this guy can't disappoint us yet, but I've got a bit of "inside info" from the same people that told me this place was sold months ago that says otherwise.

Since this thread was based on a rumor that turned into a fact, Nelson is sold. Here's another rumor, complete repave and also widen the track at the same time. Most, if not all, of the tires are going. It's a rumor, but a pretty good one I think.

Here's what's left of the old barn as of Monday I think:

How do you know that's who it is?  And so what if I do...I like Ferrari cars.

My boss told me "Brian Ross" was the guy looking to buy Nelson back when I first made this post. That's all I got to go on, but I'm pretty sure it's good info since it's the name I keep hearing everyone else throw around regarding the sale of the track.
