  1. lol it's the same thing as at fault not at fault accidents. You can get cited and your carrier can determine you not at fault (and vice versa). Insurance carriers don't argue semantics "oh well you were advancing your skills!", you can sue in court for coverage but what a pain Personally I certainly wouldn't have my adjuster meet me at the paddock
  2. wow, sounds like an intense crash (like any aren't).
  3. I'll post this, Progressive insurance contract specifically excludes all race and timed events. I don't know the other carriers but I'll bet they are the same. As far as "so and so doesn't call it a race so your insurance will cover it" if your claims adjuster finds out you dropped it on the track you'll likely get your claim denied... no ifs ands or buts. Plain and simple cut and dry, track = claim denied, you might finagle something but any check you get will be because the adjuster didn't do their job right/by the book. Standard disclaimer: I am not a licensed agent nor do I speak for Progressive. My opinion is my own and Rpgressive does not endorse it.
  4. Great pictures, looks like fun. Ride safe.
  5. Echo others, I'd bet the 1499 line corresponds to HD switching from 1200 to 1600. I agree, riding a bike is fun but it's a risk you either accept or ignore. I accept the risk, and I like the "freedom" that comes from riding... I've been happier and had less anxiety since I started riding, that's worth the risk to me. I figure we all have our time on earth, if you spend it trying to avoid death you haven't lived, but no reason to be stupid... just enjoy life and know we only get one go round.
  6. lol, that's interesting to say the least... he always have a camera with him?
  7. man, too bad this guy probably walked away, one of those spectators should have ran over and kicked him in the nuts.
  8. Caged it, wife wanted to take the car, and after the long long day a cage was kind of nice for the drive home. We went Wednesday... longest line was Maverick at 45 minutes, everything else was practically walk up. 1 day is plenty, unless you've never been to an amusement park it's easy to get everything you want to do done.
  9. LOL I'm sure this "vacation" was the last thing he wanted
  10. That's much less annoying than the other modes/models, nice work!
  11. Nothing gets stolen at Cedar Point... $10 parking. I just went 3 days ago... have a blast!
  12. I never paid attention in school, most of the stuff above is just from work experience... everyday someone puts together an analysis report and asks me to do something.... "We need to ask this question better, look how many people are abandoning the application!!!!" So I have to look at the data and then explain "Well, these people are X and they typically Y so they abandon at a higher rate, if we use this as a neutral base you can see this question has no impact on the results" With these fatality statistics a lot of time it's a scare tactic, "OMG 80% of people on motorcycle die" well, by the time you account for the base demographics for people on motorcycles then compare these 3 factors you start seeing the picture that's being painted isn't nearly as grim as people make it out to be.... but all that said.... cagers need to pay attention!
  13. Let me preface my post, thei thread is great and I agree we need to do a better job educating cagers. ************************* Couple statistical notes, first and foremost the statistics deal with colissions, they aren't measuring if/how much less likely you are to be in a collision (agility, speed). Secondly, I think a few factors are incorrectly being measured as causation instead of correlation. Helmet is a grey area, medical insurance is a big one. For either, one could ascertain that people with health insurance are safer and more thought conscious. It's also likely since the bulk of bikes insured in Ohio are cruisers, male and over 25 any statistics that are used should be weighted and valued keeping the base demographics in mind. If males are 10% more likely to die in ALL vehicular incidents then for purposes of showing motorcycle statistics you should reduce or disclaim that base statistic. End rant
  14. I may be able to make this too.... 82 and 83 at 10ish
  15. On my phone so no picture port, but google for fuel fragrances and you'll find it.
