I have wanted to put together this idea for a bit I know when I was looking for a bike I keep reading review after review of bikes but they are kind of slanted in that they only talk about the new bike that they haven't had for a year or more and that they kind of have to say good things about the bikes or they might not get the newest and greatest to review. Now this said it can only work if people can talk about what they own with out just talking it up to try to make them selfs feel good about what they have bought. you have to be able to see flaws in the bike and say what you think they are. so don't homer this up. I have an 06 buell lightning XB12scg. Likes 1. I like that its not just a cookie cuter bike its not a HD or A rice rocket. I always get lots of questions about it. 2. It really handles great just makes turning easy and fun. 3. Lots of real world power from stop light to stop light. You don't have to get high in the rpm's to get to the power band. 4. low regaler scheduled maintenance. (note I said regaler scheduled) it doesn't need all the valve jobs and no chain work belt pulls up slack on its on. 5. Im a short guy at 5'5" and this thing is low and narrow in the seat makes it very easy to move around and get both feet flat on the ground for backing up and so on It also don't have a long reach to the handle bars. 6. Very nice riding positions can go long distance with easy on it and don't seem to get to much wind trying to blow you off of the bike. 7. has some of the best looking factory wheels in the game. 8. Really has done a great job of getting all the weight of the bike down low. 9. exhaust sounds great love the back fires and all the pooping you get with an HD motor. Dislikes- 1. Buell is no more 2. I have had some blowing fuse problems. It shakes alot and that causes it to eat any wire casing that is touching anything. I have had to put electrical tape on three wires so far. None have been so bad that I needed to replace the wire at all but you must be ok with problem solving lol. 3. This bike gets hot in the summer. there is no way anyone could ride this with shorts lol and have lag hair left. 4. I'm not a fan of the breaks. I understand the concept but I dont know that its a better way of doing things at all. 5. I don't see this as a track bike at all if thats what your looking for. 6. Again the vibrations can get to your hands at low speeds. 7. crashed the bike in the summer last year and it takes FOR EVER to get parts. or A.D. Farrows really sucks. they keep getting in wrong parts so I don't know if that was a buell problem or a Farrows but was very very frustrating. FINAL WORD ( I don't regret the buying of this bike I do enjoy it a lot. lots of run to ride to work or to no wear at all and haven't found anything I would want to replace it with yet). Well since I see this is back up and that really cool. I have to add to my year on the bike. I put about 9000 miles on it this year and it was great. I do seem to have a problem with getting it to go into 3rd gear if I read line 2nd and this makes me made cant figure this out at all it will flash that its in nutral and then drop to 2nd again. but if I shift before the red line its ok. I did a trip to the dragon on it and it did great on riding potion and wind blocking for me i never had any pains but that might be because my fathers wife has a vrod and she was out of gas about every 100 miles lol. Thats all I have now if I think of more I will edit it. Hope other people take the time to do this could really help out other people when looking for a bike.

I have always loved the monster but i love naked bikes. The only thing that keeps me away from it thou is the cost to main tain the bike. Make sure that you can aford to service a ducati before buying one.

no see your the type of guy that has it twisted. AMA racing crash's happen with everyone going in the same direction and sand traps to stop you and the bike hay bails to keep you from hitting a pole. See in real life its the stoping that kills you when you hit a tree or and oncoming car. See the real world dosnt put up safty nets for you. To many people on here feel like the race track is the same as the streets and then take the bike out and act like it just because they are wearing there magical suit of armer.

So how would this thread go if I said that I think that all bikes should be governed to a speed limit of 70 mph as a top end only because it will save lives.

but its not your job or your right to try to influence anyone to do anything. let them do what they want to do. its not your ass in the seat. you should just worry about you. How often do you speed. they have just as many web sites about that and when talking about that your actually putting other peoples lives in risk. We lost a firefight a few years back that was on his busa and he hit a car that didnt see him and he was speeding way over the limit and killed the passenger and him self. Im saying if someone dosnt want to wear gear then so be it.

ya thats what i try to do but then i feel like im acting like im not good enough to wave to them lol. see I seem to get alot of shrugging off because i ride a buell I dont get the HD love because it dosnt look like an HD just sounds and I dont get the sport bike love because its not a sports bike. But thats why I love it. it dose get alot of attention thou in a parking lot at like QSL.

most doctors will just tell you not to ride at all. all they see is whats left of us after something goes very wrong. its just like police or medics. Now if you all want to get something band or make rules lets make an age limit for driving on the top end of age just like we have one on the bottom. 90% of the cars that pull out in front of me are an old man or woman that can hardly see anymore awww.

Now thats what im saying is we all know the game and we are playing on the wrong side of the odds. dont get all wrapped up in the idea that the leather and the helmet will keep you alive. It just makes people think they are invincible and then they push it harder.

everyone goes down. just dont agree with the idea of acting like we are safe just because we have gear on. its all a game of chance. But thats part of why we all ride is we enjoy the risk the chance of life the idea of living it to the fullest and not just hiding for risks.

and thats your right to do what you want to do. but you still are not safe even with gear. it can end at any time with just the right old woman pulling out not seeing you. or how often do you speed going from place to place dont anyone say they dont speed. going 70 on a bike is like running it in 2nd gear on alot of them. Im just say to me this thread is more about imposing your ideas on other people and I just feel its not the right way to think. its just not for anyone to pass judgement on another man. Im sure all of us do things that we shouldnt in life

well all im going to say on that is that we do still live in a free country to do what we want even if it means making the wrong decision in others minds as long as it dosnt harm someone else. So that said Im not one of the homers to make fun of someone else for riding with out gear its on them it dosnt harm me in any way. now some day this could end up a dictatorship and you can be first in line for that.

I think going down at all breaks bones lol. I know my sister went down at mid ohio and just slid and broke her coaler bone is 3 place. I shouldnt just say slid it was the in pack of just the low side but it was enough.

ya see my hands dont sweat and for me and im not saying what i do is right. I have been down twice and I guess my natural reaction is to tuck my arms in lol. thats what always happens. tuck and role. I do need them pants my knee's have been waked two times hard. dam Deer got me good last year. i wish they would open up hunting season on them year around. I would like to see the last white tail in a museum some were lol.

I can say i dont like wearing my gloves much.
