Ron paul scares me with his views on foreign policy, but I am with him on so many other points. Michelle Bachman believes in the Constitution as its written which I like. Nobody is perfect, I am looking for the better candidate. I honestly hope we see somebody else jump in. It's a personal choice about how much risk you are willing to accept. I wear a helmet 100% of the time but ride without my jacket very rarely and always in jeans. One of my riding buddies regularly wears shorts and no helmet. Save yourself some grief and don't worry about it you can't save the world...

Does it have to be a semi-auto? If not I would go with a bolt action, lots of good rifles to choose from in that caliber & super accuracy. If he misses a coyote on the first shot just do some quickscoping

I don't remember the model number but it was the stainless ranch with synthetic stock, pretty sharp looking. I bought it back around the time the AR ban was expired or getting ready to expire and owned it for a couple of years. If they are more accurate now I would consider giving them another try, but ammo is so expensive now I stick to shooting 22s for the most part.

I have the target model mini 14. and it will shoot with ease out to 200 yards. I have never been to a range past that so I have no clue for accuracy past that. But I would say if he is looking, tell him to get the 580 series, they have a MUCH better barrel then the older ones. Anyone who says they have a mini that was unreliable needs to learn to take better care of his weapon?! I can run 200-300 rounds of dirty cheap ammo thru mine with out a hiccup. Tell him to check out http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/ruger-mini-14-mini-30/ for more info on the mini and not hate from the AR crowd. they run around $580 new for a new ranch rifle or get the tacticool one like casper for around 700..

I have had a lot of experience with rifles and the mini I had was one of the most unreliable one I ever owned, and it wasn't because it was not cleaned properly. I have owned several surplus SKS rifles that were more accurate and reliable if that tells you anything. But like I said maybe I got a lemon and the newer ones are better?

I sold mine, the accuracy was poor and it was not reliable. Maybe I got a lemon but I hated it. I would recommend a .22, lots of choices and would make a good farm gun, lightweight & cheap to shoot.

Just bought a spare sv top triple off of ebay (for $9.99!) & need a couple of holes drilled for handlebar clamps. I debated just drilling it myself but I am too cheap to buy a good drill press plus I would screw it up anyway, but happy to pay someone who has a press (and some skillz). We went last year and stayed at the Grand Vista Hotel in Vonore, not far from 75 or the dragon. Had a great time can't wait to go again.

i live in the louisville area now and if you go down i71 to around route 421 the roads are amazing. northern kentucky is good but it gets even better the further south you go! its about another 40 minutes south of nky

I want to take a class later this year or early next year at Mid Ohio and learn how to ride on a track. I have been riding sportbikes for several years and always wanted to try this. I clicked on the link at the beginning of this thread but it appears to be broke, can someone point me in the right direction or post a link? Any tips or sites for track day noobs would be appreciated also...

Just got back, it was a blast! Hit the dragon every day we were there, only saw one leo yesterday. Loved the cherohala too, rode that twice, once at night (last night) it was excellent. Hit some super nice roads down in georgia too. Waiting for killboy to post up some pics. If you have never been you should definitely go, but haul your bikes down the ride back to cinci is a drag...

Has anyone on here slayed a mountain called The Dragon? Well it is 300 + tight curves. It is a road that connects from Tennessee to North Carolina. It is an awsome ride. I was told riders from all over the U.S come every year to try to slay this Dragon or check their skills. I have made this ride it was a rush. If you attempt this ride please use caution. this ride is steep and VERY curvy. hope to see some u guys out there will make this ride again this weekend!!!
