    Nut Up......

Okay I'm getting confused with the bitch fest because I missed 20 minutes. Who's on who's side now and which team gets to vote the next member off the island?
  2. Issue 2 would create a 13-member livestock care board; 10 members would be appointed by the governor, and the Ohio House and Senate each would appoint one member. The director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture would appoint the board's chairperson. The board would include three family farmers, two veterinarians - including the state veterinarian - a food safety expert, a representative from a local humane society, two members from statewide farm organizations, the dean of a state agriculture college and two members representing Ohio consumers.
  3. They should restrict gambling to the large indian reserves located in Ohio.
  4. Motards look fun but then again arn't you just putting street tires on a dirt bike? Well that and the associated "bling bling". I guess I just don't get it, my yz426 if fun to tear around on the road with now that it's dual sported but it's far from a comfortable ride. That's what the V-strom is for.
  5. +1 How can I help it if only 10 people are posting intelligent comments?
  6. I'm in the same boat. It is certainly a gamble and just like issue 3 is being pushed hard based on peoples fears about the economy and jobs. If it passes I'm sure there will be people who come out winners and lossers on all levels. At this point I will vote yes simply because farmers seem to feel it is the best answer. If it doesn't work we may all suffer.
  7. I got mine this summer for just over $8000 OTD. Normally I see 950/990 adv's and SE's going for 2-3000 under origional price ($13000 SE and $15000 ADV). I was just in the right place at the right time. Winter can be an especially good time to buy DS bikes from people who "have" to sell. Spring is the worst time to buy usually. Ca DS bikes tend to sell cheaper because there are more adv and DS riders out there. If you can fly out to get the bike or find inexpensive shipping there are good deals to be had.
  8. Maybe? It is a stop gap answer in my opinion.
  9. Don't be fooled Casper. This CAN NOT and WILL NOT trump laws passed at the Federal level reguarding farming! State laws must meet or exceed Federal standards via the code of federal regulations for the FDA. It only protects farmers from back door legislation within the state reguarding new laws effecting farming and farm product sales. It may actually have to make some Ohio laws stricter to meet Federal guidelines which are being proposed for how food is tracted from the farm to the dinner table.
  10. Yeah, I'm not big on that idea but I also know how ineffective the OSU ag extension and dept of ag have been in Ohio when it comes to dealing with farms that choose not to use best available standards and practices. This may provide a centeralized body that can be held responsible for the proper use and implementation of resources to enforce agricultural standards. On the down side it might also be another big hole in the floor that we get to dump $$$ into.

    Polar Bear Run

I thought last year they actually did a short ride that started and ended at the Pilot station?

    Polar Bear Run

Nope, just sit out in the parking lot in your car. Here's your sign! Yes, it's a motorcycle ride.
  13. Issue 2 for dummies: Sets up a new bureau in Ohio’s government to set rules and regulations pertaining to the practices farmers use to raise, care for and sell farm goods. It appears to be in reaction to activities that Peta and animal rights groups who have successfully gotten laws passed which have made farming practices very difficult and expensive. It is not clear if it will in fact stop animal rights groups from changing laws regarding this but is thought to give small farmers more voice in changes that might occur. At least this is what I've gotten from the issue.
  14. Well, you can't have my KTM so:p But it does everythig you have there:
  15. I honestly don't know why their still getting on about this. Seems like it should have been over long ago. I mean if you don't like eachother so be it, no one is forcing you to hold hands. We're all motorcycle enthusiasts, beyond that we may or may not have anything in common, and so what?
  16. Well, I should at least point you in the right direction. Ted and Mike are fellow caveman riders who work at motohio BMW. They're good riders and will be able to really answer you questions about handling, performance and reliability of the X-challenge. Just tell them Buildit sent you and they'll give you a special deal. http://www.motohio.com/
  17. It's going to be a really long winter.
  18. I'm just not a beemer fan so I can't give you a unbiased opinion on them. I only know of one or two riders who have x-challenges that really use them offroad and performance wise the bikes do no better than a KLR. So it comes down to $$$ to me. Is it worth an extra $3000 for the BMW logo on the tank? Besides most new DS riders end up trading bikes within two years of their first purchase. So I'd recommend buying used at first then decide what you like and dislike before getting another bike.
  19. Last I heard all four mayors were yes votes and Strickland was still no. I'm still a no vote because it seems like there are too many unanswered questions and big holes in the planning. Most of all it seems like a desperate move by people to get jobs and money. I'd rather see them start off with one casino someplace like Scioto Downs where real impact would be far more conspicuous and people could judge it as a success or failure for a future vote for more locations.
  20. Just get a KLR 650 like the rest of us.
  21. Must be the helmet instead of a backwards baseball cap that's throwing me off. Either way it's more lean than I feel comfortable biting off so nice photo.
  22. Try the back room over at Black Bird off rt 36. Last time i was there they had some decent used stuff.
  23. He doesn't look like the average 5'6" 180 lb kid on that bike either.
  24. Yeah, I looked it up again when I got home and I was almost on top of it. I just went up totally impromptly without really planning to look for it. I did find the worlds first concrete street.
