Issue 2 would create a 13-member livestock care board; 10 members would be appointed by the governor, and the Ohio House and Senate each would appoint one member. The director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture would appoint the board's chairperson. The board would include three family farmers, two veterinarians - including the state veterinarian - a food safety expert, a representative from a local humane society, two members from statewide farm organizations, the dean of a state agriculture college and two members representing Ohio consumers.
