  1. Someone find me a dealer that'll let me overnight test a $20k vehicle without anything down... I'll shop there. I've got a lot of errands I can run at night on the dealers gas and insurance.

In 1996 Waikem Nissan in Canton let me take home overnight a brand new 300ZX twin turbo with just a copy of my drivers licence. My girlfriend drove home my 1992 300 Z

    Result? I purchased it.

2002 Downtown Ford in Canton let me keep a brand new Ford Excursion Diesel over a entire weekend with a copy of my drivers licence and I walked in! (worked right down the street)

    Result? I purchased it.

Both of those vehicles were around the 45K area.

  2. Welcome Christine,

I don't know how familiar you are with Ohio roads but I would say the best riding in the State is in the S.E. portion. With your choice of wheels I would bet you have already invested in heated riding gear so that will help extend your riding season. I normally continue street riding through the end of Nov-Mid Dec time of year myself.

  3. All that gear and no gloves? :nono:

Where? Look again' date=' both riders are wearing gloves but the Yamaha rider was not wearing a chest protector and thats where he got the strawberry. There was another rider sporting no gloves so I flagged him over and gave him a spare brand new pair of Dirtpaws I had in my tankbag.

Check this guy out, he owns the place (Beans bike park) riding in his Bib overalls on one of Brock Sellards old race bikes. The guy is no spring chicken (nor am I) and he can ride.

  4. I found this article

WILSONVILLE -- Members of the Brother Speed outlaw motorcycle club rolled into a bloody 26-bike crash on Interstate 5 north Friday afternoon, south of Wilsonville.

"When we arrived on scene, it was ordered mayhem," said Lt. Mike Towner of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. "There were ... two dozen motorcycles scattered across the freeway."

Two bikers with critical injuries were flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center and OHSU Hospital in Portland. Seven other crash victims with less serious injuries were taken by ambulance.

Northbound lanes at Milepost 282, near the Baldock Rest Area, were shut down at 2:45 p.m., then remained closed for more than an hour, backing up traffic for more than seven miles. Southbound traffic also experienced delays.

The bikers were heading north to take part in the Portland chapter's annual birthday bash and a weekend demolition derby, according to one law enforcement official.

Lt. Gregg Hastings, Oregon State Police spokesman, said 26 motorcycles were traveling north in the left lane, following a car, when traffic ahead began slowing. The car and the bikers all tried to slow down, but collided, piling up on the road. A vehicle in the middle northbound lane was reportedly struck by one of the motorcycles, Hastings said.

State troopers rushed to the crash scene, along with crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, American Medical Response and fire departments from Canby, Aurora and St. Paul.

Karen Eubanks, TVF&R spokeswoman, said seven crash victims were treated for shoulder and hip injuries and broken bones. Two others were treated but refused to go to a hospital.

Police estimate membership of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club at more than 100 in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah. The club, founded in 1969, is one of six in Oregon identified by the state Department of Justice as an outlaw biker gang.

Members of the club wear black and gold colors that depict a grinning, winged skull wearing a helmet and motorcycle goggles. The bulk of the club's Oregon membership meets at clubhouses in Portland and Hillsboro, according to law enforcement sources.

"BROTHER SPEED M/C is a club that is serious about brotherhood, respect, riding fast and building choppers," the club writes on its Oregon Web site.

Looks like they got a head start on the demolition derby to me. Just ask any Harley rider and they will tell you " Never use the front brake,, it will toss you over the bars"

  5. I was street riding yesterday and on my way home decided to stop by the MX track to see if any of my friends were riding. Talked to a few guys I know and I happened to have my SLR with me so I decided to take a few photo's. When you whip out a SLR your deemed instant pro photog and guys start stepping it up and showing off a little with less than spectacular results sometimes.

1 I'm KING of the world!

2 looks like I might come up a little short..

3 Rut Row. If your new to riding off road never do this. You can see the rider let go of the throttle here when he should be doing the exact opposite. If you hold the throttle wide open it will bring the front end back up.

Another rider ran over to assist to this poor guy and I stepped onto the face of the jump to wave other riders off. He had no broken bones but did suffer some rashing on his back from sliding on the dirt.

  6. Ummmm..... Who says all those miles are his guys

Me, I can verify that he purchased ALL of those bike brand new and put

all those miles on himself. I can tell you that he is a good rider and I think it would be many of you picking gravel out of your own skin if you rode with him. Where were all you hotshot riders when we took a 536 mile ride into WV? I posted it here and guess how many Ohio-Riders showed up?,, ZERO! mileage to high, pace to hot for you?

Personally I could care less if people wear gear on rides, it's there skin/life on the line and not my own so to each their own,, I've been on 7 rides over the years where people have been killed ( including my father being hit and killed by a drunk driver in 03) and all 7 of those killed had on FULL riding gear at the time. Quick is a good guy as well, I personally witnessed him lay his own bike down so as not to run over top of a guy that had just looped his ZX12 on a entrance ramp to the highway. Just a couple months ago I had a person wipe out into a guard rail on 1 of my rides and guess who I called to come and scrape the bike off the road? Quick said " no problem" on a beautiful Sunday and brought his truck right over to help me go and collect the bike. Anytime I want someone to ride with I can call him and he's always ready to go, I think if I called him during a thunder storm he would ride along.

Speaking of riding with no gear last weekend Quick and I rode up to Akron to meet up with a new riding group and 2 guys showed up wearing shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoe's, & sunglasses. Quick did have a jacket & helmet on and we split for a little ride through the valley and the 2 gearless riders riders soon disappeared into the mirrors. This ride was lead by a chic ( Ducati hottie, remember her? some of you ran her off as well) but we still had a fun riding day.

Any of you folks that want to show your stuff Quick has rides that start in New Philladelphia at the Sheetz Station on Sundays @ 1PM. If you want to put your money where your mouth is I know who I'll put my $ on....

  7. That was a great idea, I'm lucky though my camera bag fits under the seat of my ZRX no problem ( yes it's a SLR and NOT a point & shoot) I want to get 1 of those new Sigma 17-250 lens so I don't have to carry a extra lens.

  8. Which setting should I have the meter on?

Make that 200 Volt AC, the meter might have symbol like this ~

should be the 200 amp setting....

Amp setting won't tell you anything unless you run the current through the meter and I haven't seen any consumer models that will let you put a 200 Amp load through them. There is a clamp style amp meter with a jaw that wraps around the single hot wire (black) at the breaker box.
