  1. Looks like you could use some more lighting as well. Another thing I did was paint my floor white with that epoxy garage floor paint, I know it sounds dumb at first but it really helps reflect alot of light back up on whatever your working on. Plus I have dumped brake fluid, oil, coolant, and everything just wipes clean off of it.

  2. I was riding home from either New Albany, or Westerville one evening this summer, and I saw a guy riding something old, possibly similar to what's been posted here, with a sidecar. I lick myself in the ass for not turning where he did and checking it out. I'm willing to bet he would've loved to show it, as it looked like a restored bike.

That might have been a Royal Enfield ( Green bike on the left in photo ) or possibly a Ural Patrol as well. Both are modern bikes that look (& ride) vintage.

In the photo thats me and 2 of my neighbors taking our singles out for a afternoon ride, in the middle is a old Yamaha SR500 and the Red bike is my 1982 Honda FT500 Ascot. Sadly both of the 2 others are deceased now, they each suffered from heart attacks less than 2 weeks apart. We were all members of the Ohio Valley BSA's owners association.

  3. 5.. um I see at least 6 :D Damn dude.

I don't think I would want to ride my old Cannondale Crash "A" terium (criterium) road bike at Rays. It's 1989 vintage with 6 speed Campagnolo Record components, it even has the old school tubular tires, these are tires that have the tubes sewn into tire casing and you glue them onto the wheel.

I do have 1 more road bike but it's a fixed gear Cinelli from I use to live in San Diego and they had a velodrome that I use to ride & race on.

  4. Here is another heart breaker

    http://www.volunteertv.com/news/headlines/67565022.html

It's long read but here is a "overview" of the details.

The animals pictured below; car-jacked, then raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch. An even more cruel fate awaited her!

Channon Christian was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breasts and put chemicals in her mouth... and then murdered her.

    VICTIMS:

    PERPS:

Knoxville (WVLT) - The District Attorney General of Knox County announced the list of charges facing now five suspects in the double murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

The District Attorney General Randy Nichols is not saying whether or not he will seek the death penalty, but he does say the State will seek conviction for all charges filed in a 24-page indictment from the Knox County Grand Jury.

Lemaricus Davidson, 25 , faces a total of 46 charges.

Letalvis Cobbins, 24 , faces a total of 46 charges.

George Thomas, 24 , faces a total of 46 charges.

Vanessa Coleman, 18 , faces 40 Tennessee state charges.

Eric Boyd, 24 , also arrested in connection with the fatal car jacking, only faces federal charges as an accessory after the fact.

Where are Al and Jesse? Are they providing counsel and help to the families of the victims?

Of course not - the victims were white

Why hasn't this received National coverage by the news media like the Duke 'rape' case?

Oh, that's right - the victims were white

Why hasn't the NAACP, ACLU, New York Times etc., called for an investigation?

Must be cause the victims were white

Why hasn't the FBI been called in to investigate this as a hate crime?

Oh, that's right - the victims were white'

So, if a white radio shock jock uses the phrase 'Nappy headed', it gets 2 weeks of constant news coverage.

If two white people are tortured, raped, and murdered by a group of black people, it barely gets a blip in the news.

  5. BJ is having a night time ride this Sat night, he started letting quads back about a month ago so come on out if you don't have any party plans. He will be having a big fire and the lights will be turned on for riding in the dark. This is NOT a race so any novice off-roaders could ride the track without the fear of being run over. Riding starts @ 5PM and the lights will be on till 1am, yo can camp overnight for free and ride on Sunday as well.

  6. I have purchased 17 (so far) new motorcycles through Park and have always received a good deal. I do all my own maintenance/mods so I can't give a opinion on there service department. I will say I have NEVER paid for a assembly/set-up charge because I always bring a torque wrench and tire pressure gauge when I pick up a new motorcycle and I have NEVER had 1 delivered/set-up properly for riding off the floor.

  7. the yamahahaha manual says that after a certain year, automatic decompression was introduced (apparently, 05's have this feature where it decompresses during the kick or some crap) so the lever is the hot start. someone told me it was weird that i didn't have a hot start button next to the choke, but i guess this is why.

Auto decompression was added into the exhaust cam in 03 on the YZ250F and it is a poplar mod for the 01 & 02 models, I have retro-fitted 4 of them. The "hot start" lever just leans out the mixture when pulled.

When starting (hot or cold) make sure you are at TDC then you just have to give it a swift kick ALL the way down with authority. These bike are not like the 2-strokes where you can just "stab" the kick starter and they light up.

  8. im no expert but i favor the honda 250, 4cylinder if you are just messing around. its has peaky response time, reliable, and my personal opinion, best in retaining value. I'd do anything to swap my 100 for the 250....

WOW, Honda is bringing back to life the 1964 RC 164 4 cylinder 250 and dropping it in a dirtbike frame, where do I sign up? :D

Casper, you might consider the Suzuki DR400 if you really want a dual sport, it is a much better off road performer than the 650. You didn't say if you were looking for new or used and if you looking for used try and find 1 that has already had the suspension modified. If you are in the 220# range now then strap another 30# of camping gear to the back you won't have much range left in the travel, most dirtbikes are sprung for a 175# max. It's pretty easy to change springs though so don't let that be a deciding factor.

If you already have a pickup truck I would get a real dirtbike and haul it to the place you want to ride it. You can put real dirt tires on then and won't wreck them by riding pavement. Another good thing about hauling is when you crash ( & you will crash riding in the dirt) you still got a way home if you crush a radiator or get a flat.
