Huge Props For Iron Pony, And Hoblick

Last week I purchased a set of conti-motions from Iron pony. My third set of these. I've always been happy with them. This set not so much. I had them mounted and balanced initially by dustin34xx(i dont remember his numbers). I had a shake from 30-60 mph. I pulled them, and since he was back in TN, I had another friend of mine throw them on his balancer and check the balancing. Everything was fine. Dustins work was good, as it always is. I checked my head bearings, swing arm bushings, and anything else that may have some play thats not supposed to. So I called Iron Pony and spoke to a fellow named Jeff in parts. He was very helpful. I explained to him about going to deals gap on thursday, and I needed a to exchange my front tire, due to this shake. He agreed to do so. AWESOME! I decided to do some google research and discovered I'm not the only one, who has had similar shake issues. I conversed with granda080, issacspappa, and hoblick yesterday on the situation. I decided to buy a new set of tires all together. I don't have time to get a second bum tire..... I went to hoblicks at 10am, this morning and found him working away in the garage. He dismounted the conti-motions and off to Iron Pony I went. I met with a Derek at I.P and explained to him my situation and what I had researched and posed the proposition of allowing to return the front and rear tire, and give me store credit toward another set of tires. I told him I wanted the Pirelli Angel STs. He checked the computer and didn't have the rear, but he had both in the new GT. He agreed to make the swap for me. I paid the difference of the two sets of tires( 180$) grabbed my tires and my free T shirt, off to Hoblicks I go! I returned to Hoblicks, and he mounted and balanced the new tires. I paid him and off I went. I came home mounted them up and took off to run some errands. No shake, no wobble, nothing. Just a nice smooth ride. I just wanted to take a moment to thank Hoblick, and Iron Pony for going above and beyond. I will rest easy knowing I have a solid set of tires now. Sorry for the long winded post, but its rare to find good customer service these days, and You guys made my week. HUGE PROPS!

I don't have the boots, but if they are anything like my Latingo suit, they will be great. Sizing is spot on. None of this size 40 being set up for a midget stuff.

Seriously Considering An 03 Triumph Sprint St

My wife and I do some decent day trips via fz1. It's great. There's a ton more room , for the passenger. On the sprint we could only do 100 miles or so, and she constantly smashed me into the tank. One thing I will say about my sprint was that the fit and finish was outstanding. The paint was awesome, the fairing fit was great. It was a joy to wrench on in that aspect. I.P is exactly right. If your willing to spend the wrench time , it can be very rewarding. I loved it until i waited forever for some parts and that's when Trudy and I parted ways. -

My gen 1 will never leave the stable. Biggest thing on the gen1 fz is to check for second gear kick. Roll hard through the RPM range in second gear. Here's my sprint -
Seriously Considering An 03 Triumph Sprint St

Did someone call my name? Maintenance and sprint st955 were the story of my life for three years. I loved the motorcycle, don't get me wrong. I prefer to ride than wrench though. Valve checks were 12,000 miles. Rear wheel bearing isn't listed as a maintenance item, but they aren't sealed up real well. Tore mine down and regrease every season. Front brakes were very inconsistent. Triumph didn't put a non stick coating on the pistons, and brake dust would build up and give them inconsistent feel. Guys were swapping out for Dayton 675 pistons in the caliper. Shift shaft leaks oil. Sprag clutch is a big downfall. Not a cheap fix I didn't care for mine 2 up at all. It was cramped up. The 955 engine is a dream. It's like riding a tractor, with all the torque so low. I know I just made it sound like a terrible bike, but I loved mine. It just wasn't what I needed to commute everyday. The wind protection was great. I had some heated grips and was comfortable down into the 30s without a bunch of winter gear. My biggest complaint on the motorcycle was getting parts. I waited 2-3 weeks multiple times for parts. When your bikes a daily rider, that sucks. I traded my 02 sprint off for an 02 fz1. My sprint had 35,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. I had it many places, down dirt roads, and all over Ohio, wv , and pa. It was a great time, I just wanted somthing alittle less maintenance intensive. -
Looks like the rain in this area may put a damper on riding plans....

I had a run in with a guy on a shaft drive cruiser last week. I just don't understand

I've never heard of any of those! Time to check them out! Thanks man!

everyone needs whipped topping!

Appreciate the props. I'm planning to do a different genre each week, just to keep a wide variety going. I agree with you when you say they are alittle late. There are so many "metal bands" out there, its hard to stand out. I feel your band, the reefer hut is one of those under rated bands. I can't wait to hear your new material..

Welcome from troy!

I wasn't bashing I.P by any means. Heck I didn't even know I.P offered a course until this thread. I have spent lots of money at I.P over the years, even this week I bought tires from them. I wasn't taking a jab at anyone. All I was attempting to do was help a dude out, whom seemed to be concerned with a 200 dollar cost. I never stated the course was not worth the money, I never mentioned taxes, or anything along those lines. Yes 50 dollars is cheap. When I took my class, if it were 200, I probably would have paid it. I was just trying to get the point across to the fellow that the MSF course is the way to go.

They are touring and doing it! Tasha is friends with Levi's mom and they seem to be doing well.

It has been brought to my attention that my comment was taken out of context. Dudes a new rider, probably overwhelmed with the new costs of motorcycle, gear, insurance, possible motorcycle work to get said bike roadworthy. I never once said your program was not worth the cash.To a new rider whom is tight on cash, and is trying to do things right, its hard to fork out another 200 bucks. I was there once. We all were. I remember searching your closeout sections for gear on the cheap because I could not afford anything else. All I was trying to say was that if money is an issue, alternatives are there, instead of spending 200 dollars. I took my MSF course in troy, for a mere 25 dollars. Apparently thats now 50$. No, it wasn't your cream of the crop hand picked instructors, but they sure taught me a hell of a lot.

My review this week is going to be from a band local to me. These dudes graduated high school a few years after I did. Just some troy boys who made it big.I love that they stuck with it and kept the dream alive and never gave up. This ain't your grandmas easy listening. They have a little older sound to them compared to some of the other bands, which is why they stand out to me. I love that they can quickly go from your normal metal growl, to some nice vocals. Much like Avenged Sevenfold. What stands out to me about this particular band is that their lyrics have a positive feel most of the time. Some metal just drags you down. This pumps me up, and makes me want to go raise hell! This particular album is pretty darn good. Heres a live video of one of my favorite songs on the album- Hey Mister . Heres the official video for " Hey mister" For those of you who say" I cant understand what they are saying" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSG3v0GtHkM This particular song is hits home for alot of kids these days. Its a shame how many dead beat parents that are out there. anywho; On with this.. I really dig this song, because it starts off showing of the other side of there vocal talent. I love that they can actually sing. Anyways, thats all I have this week. =)

Without the MSF course , I wouldn't be here to post this. End of story . Find somewhere other than I.P. it's 25 dollars anywhere else.
