  1. You actually setting up a ride for Sunday?

You and I are going  figured we'd include those two asking for help. I really wasn't planning on publicizing it much more than that. You can if you want. This will probably be the last ride my tires have left in them.

  2. I refuse to ride because I'm not good at riding????? Huh, riding and learning makes one a better rider.

Good to see you are still coming.

And those skipping out, you will regret it. The gap is a wonderful place to be. Great biking and car culture. A lot of friendly folks, food and twisties.

Track days are a few times per month, easy to do another one of those before or after.

    Chris

:werd: what the slow poke said ^^
  3. my body positioning has to be all kinds of terrible and some of my lines are completely questionable yet I assure you doesn't remove one bit of fun that is had down there

your body position was horrible and your lines looked like dot to dot puzzle done by Hellen Keller

On the walk home from the bonfire

  4. no offense to the midget or badmexican, but while i wouldn't skip a baller trip like this one for a track day, i would still do a track day on a different date (preferably, before the trip) for the education. it's no silver bullet for riding shitty (as i can personally attest), but i think it helps and it will be quite a different experience than getting some pointers from experienced riders.

I'm absolutely not saying don't do track days. Just saying don't skip this trip for one. I love track days and you'll learn more in one track day than in an entire season on the street.

  5. You don't need a class. It's seat time and following someone willing to help. And not letting your ego get in the way by knowing when to back off the throttle. There's a group there for every pace, make sure you're in the right one and if someone tells you you're in the wrong group......take their word for it and switch groups

  6. The biggest thing I saw from both is not moving body's around and using the brakes. Leave the brakes alone, at least the back brake anyway. That 650 has a ton of engine braking. Get in a lower gear and rev that bitch out in the curves and then you can use the engine as your rear brake when you feel you need to instead of the brakes themselves and standing it up or sliding out. When in doubt lean harder and have faith it will stick. If it doesn't, well you leaned harder so you're that much closer to the ground if you do go down you don't have as far to fall ;).

  7. My monies is going to trackdays now lol

Ride with Me, Hutch and Chris on 129 and you'll have about the same experience as a track day. I love track days and do them every chance I get too but you are shorting yourself by skipping this trip for a track day. I understand your reasons and trying to better your skills after your mishap but its also all in the group you ride with. I watched your crash video and some of the other vids and the lines were all fucked up to begin with. That was part of the problem. Find a better group to ride with and follow their lines. You'll get that on the Gap with us. I would skip a free track day to pay for this trip no lie. You are cheating yourself.

  8. Yes, I almost nailed on on the Gap with Dori on the back. Not nice. He ran across the road in a corner. And a group of 4 others riding 2 up right behind me too. Would've been very bad. Was a baby wild boar but still. A few seconds difference and it would've taken us all down I'm sure
