  1. i'd like to know what your will put down.

    mine did 41.3

I dont really want to for the HP numbers, I'm more curious to make sure my A/F is right. I'm fairly certain it is because it runs awsome but wanted to make sure.

And I guess Brian and I are supposed to head over to Cheeseburger in Paradise too :dunno:

  2. pretty good analysis except i was on the fzr (dunlops) and im sure you will be delighted to know i went down  .....in any case, it wasnt the tires, it was piss-poor judgement

Actually no I dont wish it on anyone. You'll learn I'm sarcastic, witty and spitefull but not hatefull. Just felt this thread was usuless and uninformative thus far so figured the Shinko debate could possibly make it somewhat interesting.

    But it didnt.

  3. no not true you only assume you know were it is. you can remember were you thought it was but you don't know if a car has gone through it and kicked it all over the place. you have then a false since of security my friend...

Yea you're probably right must just be coincidence that in all the years out here the gravel is ALWAYS in the same spot in the same corners. And must have just got lucky on the rides I've led out here when I told people what corners to watch for because there will be gravel in them and what part of the lane it will be in BEFORE the ride started. Just lucky guesses I suppose, and on 715 yes the gravel is always in the same spots. Try and speak on things you know.

  4. This thread does not deliver, why bother even starting a thread of this nature when you've got nothing?? Seems like somthing Sarah would do.

Since there is no info and I dont care to check back as I"ve totally lost interest after 44 posts of nothing I'll tell the story as I see it. A few newbs and two wannabe curve carvers join up for a ride to boost thier ego. Curby comes along to attemp to keep them inline. Speedytriple comes to show them how its done. Holly shows for a little eye candy. Anyway long story short Speedy bails early so Tim takes the lead. Well knee draggin Timmy's Shinko's "that he's so proud of" finally give up the ghost and took him out along with two others. End of story nothing more to see here carry on.

Jbot let the other puppy go or I'll quit sending you all the stray cats for those asian meals you like so much.

  5. I guess I assume someone won't over ride their abilities on a road they've never been on. I think 79/541 are very mild compared to 536, 555, etc...which are full of blind and strange camber turns. Visibility is good on 79, and there's only one decreasing radius (and it's barely decreasing). 541 only has 2 blind ones, but they're sweepers. 80% of both of those roads are straight with long lines of visibility...and the pavement is almost always free of shit and debris.

I learned to ride twisties on both of those roads, and never came even remotely close to losing my shit...but I rode cautiously with smarts until I was ready to hurl it into the turns, a skill I tested on a track day and not Coshocton County. I think that's a foreign concept for too many people, sadly.

I guess we have different POV's. I know of several blind curves on both of those rt's 79 does have a few and 541 has more than 2 not counting the ones that turn on the down side of a rise that you cant see till you crest?? Do you get out here much? And never assume someone wont ride over thier ability, because everyone does at some point and some more than others. I along with a few others personally saw him pushing the edges of his ability on our last ride.

They are both new riders, one never in twisties the other only a time or two with a leader and both just out of thier MSF course. This is why I tried to caution them.

But hey gotta learn somehow and it worked out ok so, live and learn I guess.

  6. ps it doesn't mater if you know the roads or not if you hit gravel your going to hit blacktop :(

    Not true on either statement.

Those of us that ride out here all the time do know where the gravel is because it always there so we already know what line to take because we know where the gravel is at before we even get there.

And no, just because you hit gravel does not mean you will hit blacktop. Thats when experience and rider ability comes in. Inexperienced rider will panic and chop the throttle, grab brakes, jerk the bike then yes you will go down. Experienced rider wont do those things and will usuall go right thru.

  7. Theres gravel in most all the turns out here, not a place to come explore without someone who knows the area for the first couple times.

Glad it turned out ok for ya. Fix it up and come out for the guided tour next time.

  8. I can picture what happened on the ride where the guy moved up. He thought you guys were holding him up because others were pulling away so he moved up. The problem with that is they weren't pulling away because they were going fast between curves they weren't slowing down for the curves like he needed to. Estimating corner entry speed is an important skill to have, anyone can go fast in a straight line and group rides aren't the place to do that.

    Yea, sounds about right.

If you've got to hit 100+ between the curves to catch back up with the group......... You're in over your head.
