I didn't use them either, bought a new flasher relay to slow the blink rate down. Really easy to install and doesn't get hot like those resistors.

Have you checked the breaker for the dryer in the service panel? I'd check that first.

Make sure to check outside and make sure the vent is clear. My boss had same problem and there was a nest in the vent.

You also might want to check the vent duct and make sure it is not plugged with lint or kinked anywhere.
