  1. So were we, but I always had a lot of older friends.
  2. Whatever happened to the good old-fashioned asswhoopin? Back in the day, if some dude and I had drama, we'd pummel each other to raw hamburger, then have some beers and get over it.
  3. I want it. I love those old-school bench-bikes. Win. You need clip-ons or Clubmans, NOW!!!1!!1 Heh
  4. From the story: 'The Road Traffic Act contains an offence of "careless, and inconsiderate, driving" and, according to Crown Prosecution Service policy, that could include driving through a puddle to splash bystanders. Courts may impose fines of up to £2,500 for such an offence.' Damn. I did that to someone up by the Columbus convention center once, when I was about 17. Laughed my ass off.

  6. My main bike for the last few years has been my 1100 Shadow-- 615 lbs before I get on it. This thing weighs nothing next to that. I want drag bars like I have on my Shadow, and Hob13 has one I could use (his dad has a garage full of old Triumphs, and about a million sets of 7/8 bars). Unfortunately, this bike has the risers built into the triple-tree, and the drags hit the tank without taller risers. So I'm going to have to get those goofy riser-extenders that slot into the built-in risers before I can use the bars. Anyone with a set of those (cheap!) should let me know.
  7. Yeah, I keep bugging him about that. I'll have to remember to mention next time I talk to him. He did come out to a few of the BWR bike nights, though.
  8. my buddy Mike (who just sold/traded me his '77 GS750) just bought this bike. He got the front end fixed over the weekend, and was riding it today. It looks to be up and running nicely now.
  9. I traded him my Glock 17 and $200. I'm happy with that, although I miss that gun. And mod-wise, while I'd love to cafe it, that shit costs money. Flat black is cheap. The engine runs extremely (read-- 'Aaaaahhhh I'm a cruiser guy why is my front wheel off the ground?!?!?1!') well in the powerband, although it bogs a bit if you open the throttle too wide too fast. I'll stick with fixing that gawdawful paintjob and other minor cosmetic stuff for now. I did steal the stock rear turn signals off of RainCheck's '01 Ninja 250 and stick them on this one-- it had tiny generic aftermarket ones that were more or less invisible.
  10. A '77 (with a '79 engine) Suzuki GS750. Runs quite well, and it's a blast to ride (I love old-school bench bikes). Immediate plan is to paint the tank and fenders flat black, and patch/ recover the seat somehow (note the Kentucky Chrome currently covering two smallish splits in the ancient vinyl). I wouldn't mind getting some clip-on highway pegs and new handlebars too when I get some cash, because the stock ones hurt my wrists (funny angle for a tall guy).
  11. It may be fair, but I doubt he'd spend that much on them. I'll ask him when I see him.

  13. Cool. I'll ask around, if I find anything good I'll post up here.
  14. What kinds of things do you need? And are you looking for cheap stuff or more quality stuff? I may be able to find you some things with a bit more info.
  15. Yeah, I got one of those for my SNES eventually too. Better living through technology, GREAT SUCCESS!!!
  16. This is 8 different kinds of awesome. Unfortunately, the woman narrating the video is a fucking half-wit, so skip to like the 1:15 mark to see the actual bike and mute the bitch's constant prattling. Yes, I know, it's a Harley. Get over it. That's not the important part. It's fuggin bike, with a dude in a wheelchair riding it. And it kind of reminds me of a Roman chariot, which just makes it even cooler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr57hxdBk9U
  17. Way too many people in the world already. I'd mash that damned button like I was doing a "TEST YOUR MIGHT!!!" on the original Mortal Kombat. And epic justice if I keel over while mashing the button.
  18. If you decide a firm price and it's low enough, Hobie (Hob13) might be interested in it as a backup set- given that like two people have already dropped his Kanatuna and scratched the pipes, he might do well to keep some others around.
  19. Zombie. Aim for the head. In seriousness, though, it's a common saying among medics in cold climates, "You're not dead until you're warm and dead." The body does interesting things in cold weather. In truth, I'm kind of surprised this made the news in Norway. Saying "I'm hypothermic" in Norway is like saying "I'm Korean" in Seoul-- kind of a foregone conclusion.
  20. Might do that here in a little while. Some OR people have actually seen it already-- my buddy Mike has brought it out to a few of the BWR bike nights, but I'll try to take a few pics to post on here. It's probably going to get another project thread eventually, too-- it's in great working order, but cosmetically it needs some help. We'll see.
  21. Just traded it for my buddy's '77 Suzuki GS750. Mods can close this thread if you want.
  22. You misunderstand my meaning. I was only referring to the correct term for our system of government. I don't find the constitution particularly 'limiting'. The term 'constitutionally-limited' is both valid and correct. Our form of government is constitutionally limited.
