So you passed the course - but did you go to the BMV and get the M endorsement added on your license yet? Not official until you have... Enjoy being labelled as "MC NOVICE" for a year!

Better get m'damn iphone 5 this week - just listed my DroidX on ebay. Ebay estimates the phone alone should fetch $77.99 and I have a bunch of accessories with it (car dock, multimedia dock).

My order status on he verizon website still shows as "Ship date 9/21" No email from them about shipping. When did you place your order? Mine was 03:12 on the Verizon website.

Tilt to zoom? WHy not list "Swipe to unlock" on the apple side? (A touchy subject I guess because it's a patented Apple feature that got Samsung's fingers burned as I recall...)
-
That was the phone I was considering instead of the iP5 but rejected it because it was my buddy and his wife problems since the ICS update. Both crash regularly. Same as my DroidX.
-
More or less, yeah.

We shall meet on the field of honor at dawn and duel with swords, you scoundrel.

I'm gonna be sleeping in the recliner for the week!

DONE! It came out perfectly. Rev.Dice at Sweet Baby Octane added his artistry to the concept and I liked what he did so we went ahead with his improved version of my original concept. The pain was much less than I expected. The only sucky bit was when he was shading over the bit of the scapula that forms the hard bump you feel on the top of your shoulder on top of your arm. Also, the outside of the arm was fine but the leaves that wrapped around the front and back of my arm were more painful. I was able to continue a light conversation throughout it all so it really wasn't bad at all (the conversation really DOES help take your mind off the pain). Some areas felt like burning, some felt like the needle stick you get when you get a local anesthetic in your skin. Afterwards it felt like a bad sunburn. Been 2 hours now and the sunburn feeling has gone.

Read the backstory. Yes, this is a forever decision. I've wanted it for 10 years, and I still do. I will never stop missing my mother.

"Can't we just hate Obama because he's incompetent" = "I disagree with his politics". If you live for a democrat agenda then he's doing just fine. When the next republican president takes office the dems will all say he's incompetent when they really mean they don't agree with his politics, and those with a republican agenda will say he's doing just fine. Ah, the ebb and flow of the two-party system. The ying and yang, always in balance. We hate them, they hate us, always at odds, never willing to compromise. We're all just krill in the vast ocean of US politics and the government is a hungry whale.

Yeah! I mean he totally f*cked up the credit card industry with that whole "Cardholder bill of rights" crap. I mean, who the heck wants their interest rates on prior purchases protected from arbitrary hikes? http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Fact-Sheet-Reforms-to-Protect-American-Credit-Card-Holders Oh, wait...

I've had a guy tell me he doesn't wear gear because he has wrecked over a dozen times and never been seriously hurt therefore he doesn't need it. I have heard the arguments against helmets, just as I've heard arguments against seatbelts. At the end of the day I support it as a personal choice as long as I don't wind up paying for in higher insurance premiums (or wasting the money of a national health service). So if someone wants to ride without a helmet, drive without a seatbelt, smoke or engage in any other behaviors that are risky then that's their choice; but don't expect me to celebrate or evangelize that behavior.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... "Anyone who doesn't wear a helmet has nothing up there worth protecting."
-
I thought that quote was from the citizen who filed the complaint, not the board members who chose to consider it. On the flip side, if all the board members were democrats and the complaint was rejected out of hand then they'd also be accused of bias.

2-3 mins to put a helmet on? Mine goes on in 20 seconds.

The lesson here comes from Aesop's Fables. Specifically, "The old man, the boy and the donkey". http://www.aesops-fables.org.uk/aesop-fable-the-man-the-boy-and-the-donkey.htm The moral is that you cannot please everyone. It is your money, your car, your choice. Do what is right for YOU. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2

I submitted the order at 03:12 and it said 9/21

News this morning said that Verizon was still quoting 21st but acknowledge it will be longer than that. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2

Thoughts: - The story continues that she sat for 35 minutes in the back of the squad car without asking to go to the bathroom. Yet she was so desperate to go to the bathroom that she couldn't hand over he license? Seems her bathroom need was just a ploy. - How many times do cops hear the BS; "I have to go to the bathroom" line. See above. - Old people commit crimes too, and they carry guns etc. A cop who lets his guard down can wind up dead. Two weeks ago an 81 year old man shot and killed a cop. - She's an ornery old coot that figured she could boss around a cop and then found out she couldn't and now she's crying. - SHE refused to hand over her license multiple times in a state where that's an arrestable offense. - SHE said; "Go ahead (take me to jail)". - SHE refused to get out of the car. - It takes two to Tango. Her arm wouldn't hurt if she had gotten out of the car. - Heck, this whole thing would have been avoided if she had followed his instructions - the same instruction we all get and we all follow (or face the consequences). - What was the officer's alternatives? The lawyer said he should follow her to a bathroom. Could you imagine a cop EVER doing to for anyone? For any regular person he's giving them an opportunity to stash/drop contraband, or move a weapon to a easier-to-reach place. I can't wait until I'm old enough that the law doesn't apply to me any more.

They say that within the hour they slipped to weeks out! Submitted my order at 03:12 and my confirmation email says my arrival date is the 21st. I was on the Verizon website at 02:57 and kept refreshing and sure enough - exactly at 03:00 the iphone 5 join the list of available devices. Their website ran just fine for me so if there was a huge rush then they handled it extremely well.

Just ordered one each for my wife and I. Getting up at 3am or order them may be geeky but it beats the shit out of camping outside the Apple store for 3 days. Also, when the 4S was released demand was so high that even those pre-ordering in the first 24 hours were having to wait up to 3 weeks to get their devices. Now forgive me as I head down to starbucks for a triple-shot-venti-soy-no-whip-mocha-choca-poka-latte.
