  1. You are displaying the classic signs of armchair quarterbacking. Have you even been in in that kind of situation? I can't imagine anyone having the presence of mind to remain calm when you are POSSIBLY going to die. Seriously, come down to our Dojo on jujitsu night and we'll show you a couple things. 1) An unarmed person can kill you in seconds 2) It takes training, confidence and mental preparation to remain calm when you are overpowered and pinned, even in a controlled environment. An untrained person being overpowered in an uncontrolled environment has no chance. I spar on a regular basis, and I roll Jujitsu twice a week. I'm over 6'2, 210lbs and I get tapped out by smaller, better trained fighters more than I care to admit. Even rolling with folks I know and trust it gets in your head when you get locked up - even though I know I can stop at any moment by tapping out. I am slowly learning to use technique rather than brute force because brute force lasts about a minute and technique stays with you forever, but that's where training, patience and confidence comes in.

    WTF head??

  3. New Philadelphia to Youngstown is an hour and a half, and to the Falls is like 5 hours. Seven hours?? You can't help but blame both of them. The driver should have been asking why he's still in Ohio after 2 hours if they went 77 to 76 towards 80.
  4. Magley's theme song, to the tune of Rawhide: Trollin' trollin' trollin', now my junk is swollen, keep them posters rollin', rawhide. Don't make no sense, no never, touch myself in leather. With never a girlie by my side. All the things I'm missin', sound logic, sense to listen, are waiting at the end of my ride.
  5. The way I read the story it wasn't a legitimate shotgun inside the toy gun - it was an improvised shotgun / "zip gun". That is illegal under California Penal Code 12020 (A) (1). A "zip gun" is any device that was not imported as a firearm by a licensed importer AND not manufactured as a gun by a licensed manufacturer AND no tax was paid on it, nor tax exemption granted AND is made or altered to fire a projectile by an explosion. Funnily enough, if he had put a REAL shotgun inside a supersoaker he'd have been fine as long as it still met length requirements.
  6. So who got the kid while they were scraping calamari off the side of the church?
  7. Same reason you can't just go test-drive a Ferrari. Idiots would go joyride it just because they can.
  8. I ride a 2011 vstom 650 and love it. Some days I wish for the power of the 1k, but on days I go fill up I'm happy for my 50mpg+
  9. So he was riding a non-abs bike? (black stripe) Hoping for a full recovery. I wonder who pays what for the bike? I'm assuming they checked his endorsement and his insurance... If I was to guess it would be the bike's insurance paying for it, but an at-fault accident on him and his rates going up - unless he signed a waiver that he would pay for the damages/use his own insurance like a rental car. EDIT: He'd have to be dangerously inexperienced or going dangerously fast to fail to make that corner. GSXR750? Betcha he was giving it some.
  10. Lucky you. The rest of us only have a few inches.
  11. Was it a gsxr or a strom? Or were there two wrecks?
  12. Never said the car was for her. Might have been trying to mortgage the house for a new Vette for himself. You never know.. Sure as sugar ain't getting a car now. He'll be too old to drive by the time he gets out of prison.
  13. WHAT? Absolutely not! HOW DARE YOU? If he had wanted to buy a motorcycle, then sure...

  15. Anyone got a link to a news story or anything? Can't believe a fatal accident would have no reporting at all.
  16. Was at IP yesterday for a new helmet for my boy. Saw the Suzuki tent but didn't ride for the same reason MT stated.
  17. And the moment a cop tases someone, he's demonized.
  18. Taser only crosses 2 cumulative inches of airgap. There's tiny gap on each gun-to-cartridge contact, leaving less than an inch of airgap that each probe can cross. A winter jacket will render the taser useless.
  19. Direct quote from a witness. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/18/Trayvon-MMA-style-attack Who's getting emotional, again?
  20. How quick can you change a taser cartridge? Only tried it with unfired cartridges, so the buttons on the side are difficult to press with the wires still bunched up. Still, about 5 seconds is my record. That actually sucks. If you miss you'd better be ready to drive-stun or you're now defenseless while you transition to another weapon.
