You need to have it cast in Acrylic.

My wife got sick of the daily contact-lens routine and finally got lasik (PRK). Proper lasik, none of this "$99 per eye!" crap. Cost us about $4k, but she now has 20-15 vision in both eyes and contacts/glasses etc are all a thing of the past.

"They are NOT for general transportation." != "ride it to school/work a few times are week" For the cost of a tank of gas he can get regular plates and not worry about a cop pulling him over to ask him which bike show he's headed to. If he was truly going to comply with the plate's restrictions then sure, go for it. But he can't commute on historical plates.

Bear in mind that it is my belief that an ASP is illegal to carry in Ohio.

Good luck and be safe.

Seriously, some necropostiac sh*t right there. Dunno what tint I have on my car - was tinted when I bought it. How can i get it measured without the officer saying; "Yeah, it's too dark, here's your ticket..."

Did he lose any sleep that night?

Should have pointed finger at himself. Idiot.

This morning I was behind a compact car and the mustang to her left was signalling to get into our lane. The mustang, of course, wanted in front of the compact, despite there being no room. After a while the mustang started intentionally edging into the compact's lane to try to scare her away. Compact didn't budge. The mustang completgely ignored the fact that I had slowed to leave several carlengths of space between me and the compact so if the mustang would just touch the brakes she's have been able to make her lane change easily. I even forgave the fact that mustang floored it past all the cars waiting patiently in the correct lane. Well, once the mustang started bullying the compact I didn't feel like going out of my way to be nice to her any more so I took up my original lane postiion. When the mustang gave up on bullying the compact she figured I'd be an easy mark. She was wrong. (I was in my cage) She finally joined the lane about 3 cars back, flipping off everyone on sight.

And then what? That's not going to get back to him at all. (Unless you have video and he's in a company truck, maybe they his company will care...)

In england it is considered disrespectful to make the officer walk all the way up to your car. I always got out and met them halfway. It was not considered a threat by the officers I was pulled over by. Times may have changed in the last 15-20years though.

Notifying when NOT carrying seemed to be a big problem for some officers who weren't clear on the letter of the law. Having said that, arguing by the roadside rarely helps - tell him you will notify next time, then send a letter to his chief asking for the law to be explained to him again. Arguing with a cop is never a good idea. Their mindset is to remain in control of the situation at all costs and they won't welcome having the law explained to them during a traffic stop.

We need perspective. How many complaints is normal for an officer? How many complaints are unfounded retalliation for a legitimate arrest?

and junk-fondling is the other?

Their contract probably requires an administrative suspension with pay and due process for misconduct allegations. Once the investigation is over I would expect criminal charges. Bear in mind that if a contract calls for due process and that due process is denied then that's a violation of the contract and the termination can be reversed. By providing the officer the due process now it ensures that whatever decision they come to will have more legitimacy and be more likely to suirvive any legal challenge.

Since driving age. Never had any police contact before then.

I know I'm into it more that I can sell it for. Don't forget I have this car instead of a rental so it's saving me $250/wk in rental charges. I don't expect 2500 back on it. I expect 2500 -whatever the rental car would have cost me, which is $700/mo. I've been in it for a month already, so I only need $1800 out of it to break even as of this moment. If I have to drive it for another month then I'll only need $1100 out of it. If I have to drive it for 3 months I can donate it to goodwill and still come out ahead vs renting.

Sure. I guess the wheel bearings could go, etc. But all the usual stuff (a/c, cv joints, tires, brakes, alternator etc) is sorted.

For those who don't know, I broke my ankle last month and I can't drive my stickshift for a couple of months (or ride my bike for the rest of the season). Rather than rent an automatic for 2-3 months I bought a cheap used car to drive and plan to sell it on when I'm back in my own car. The hope is that even if I take a loss on the resale then it'll still be cheaper than renting for x months. Got an '89 Park Avenue, fully loaded. Had all the usual used-car problems. Since buying the car I have replaced the gas tank, alternator, headliner, power seat controller, power antenna, fixed the AC and done a full fluid and filter service on it (oil / trans / coolant etc) This week I am replacing the A/C compressor and power steeering return line which were both weeping. One CV boot was split when I got it so I'm replacing the halfshaft because I don't know the condition of the cv joint. The A/C has been fully converted to R134 with a new compressor, accumulator, orifice tube and new r134 o-rings on all connections. Pulled vacuum on it for an hour last night then left it overnight to check for loss of vacuum. This morning the vacuum was exactly where I left it, so I'm ready to weigh in the new refrigerant. The only thing left now is the front passegener window is slow. Either need to be lubed or has a bad motor. New motor is $30 so replacing it is no problem. Hopefully with all this work done by myself will mean I get my investment back, or close enough that it was cheaper thanreting ($700/mo). I'm $2500 in and not spending any more money on it. Whoever buys this car is going to get a heck of a deal. Anything that could go wrong with this car was either already good or has been fixed by me. Once the window is done the car will be set for years.

I generally don't find myself coming into contact with the police very often. I average one contact a year and in 3/4 of those I was either the victim or a witness. I've had two speeding tickets and two warnings.
-
That would work too.

My kid goes to the Y for day camp. If they need him to undress for ANYTHING then they had better have called me in there first. I don't believe fro a seocnd that their search was to find a sick kid. I believe 100% that they wanted to find who to blame.

Looks more like a "3 shots with a rifle and finish the bastard off with a revolver" kind of dog.

I always found the police to be great "mirrors" of attitude. Be nice to them and you get treated nice. Act like a dick and you get treated like a dick. Of course I have met one officer who was a dick right off the bat and he treated me so bad that when they cut me loose (without the speeding ticket that the officer was yelling at me demanding I admit to) his partner walked over to my car with me and apologized about him.
