  1. Not sure if Repsol and Mobil 1 are the same but Mobil 1 Racing 4t was in the study under the 10W/40 group and Mobil 1 20W/50 V-twin was included as well in the 20W/50 group. Mobil 1 oils are good oils but Amsoil still outperformed the Mobil 1 oils in several categories.
  2. If you are in or around Columbus you want to find a retailer you can use this link to locate one "Amsoil Retailers" You can have it delivered to your home by ordering online www.modernsynthetics.com or by telephone 800-956-5695. If ordering by telephone please be sure to mention referral #1471012. This will ensure that Ohio Rider's Sponsor, Modern Synthetics, receives credit for your purchase. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call. 740-393-2453
  3. Thought about that but I don't think that would go over very well in most places.
  4. Why did they stop carrying 5.11 gear? I know you can order them at the NRAstore.org "5.11 Holster Shirt"
  5. The distribution method is different than that of the big oil companies but the price is not higher. Depending where you purchase Amsoil, the retail price for 10W/40 motorcycle oil is generally in the $10.50 - $11.00 per quart range. It is usually priced about the same as or lower than other oils that are true synthetics yet it outperforms the oils of those same competitors.
  6. Thinking of getting one of these for the warm weather when it is difficult to conceal with a standard holster and light clothing. Saw the better shirt post on the target thread and reminded me of this 5.11 Holster Shirt. Just wondering if anyone has used one?
  7. I understand your skepticism since Amsoil did fund the study. I also agree that many other oils such as Rotella will do a fair job of lubricating parts. I guess I am partial to Amsoil because I used Amsoil products in my personal vehicles and equipment for over 8 years with outstanding results before I decided to become a dealer. If I did not believe in Amsoil products I would not sell them. The extended drain intervals that I get with Amsoil are also a bonus. Many Amsoil customers also tell me how much quieter and cooler their bikes run. That is why I believe the results in the studies are actual and not paid for. A friend of mine in Toledo also uses Rotella in his personal motorcycles and has not had any lubrication related issues with his bikes. He changes his oil all the time, probably every thousand miles or less and he does not want to spend the additional money for Amsoil. I understand your position and respect your opinion. Not saying other oils won't work, I just like to have the best protection available along with the convenience of extended drain intervals for the slight increase in price. Take Care
  8. Did you even look at the study? The test was conducted by an independent laboratory, not Amsoil. Amsoil is not over priced for what you are getting. If Amsoil was just trying to hype their oil they would have just eliminated the few categories where they didn't finish first from the results. In order to convey the truth they left those results in the study for all to see. I sure haven't seen Rotella or any of the other oil companies put out a comprehensive study comparing their oil to Amsoil. Hmmmm. I Wonder Why?
  9. Have you been asking yourself, "how do I really know what the best motorcycle oil is?" Well check this out and decide for yourself. Click Here "STUDY OF MOTORCYCLE OILS" JUST RELEASED -Updated June 2009 No hype, just facts.
  10. Thank you for ordering through Modern Synthetics and thank you for the great review. It was nice to meet you yesterday. I'm glad we were able to schedule a time for you to pick up your order. I know the warehouse hours make pickups there tough, especially when you are not local to Columbus. Hope you had a good drive home. If you have any questions about Amsoil products or need assistance of any kind please feel free to give me a call.
  11. Definitely check out Kahr pistols. I have two and love them both. They are very high quality with great accuracy for their respective sizes. Have a K9, Stainless frame & slide 3.5" barrel, which is nice but rather heavy for my liking when I carry it all day. Also have a PM9 3.0" barrel, polymer frame and matte black slide. It is small and light so I carry it a lot more than I did my K9. The K9 ended up parked in a drawer more than on my side. The PM9 however is carried frequently. I don't care for the safety mechanism that sticks out of the trigger on the glocks. Just don't like the feel of it. They are good guns though. You should try to shoot several guns before purchasing to see what you like. Also try them in a holster with a full magazine to see if you will actually want to carry the thing around with you.
  12. Telephone is best way to reach me immediately. I don't mind people call in the evening either. Please give me a call this evening if possible (740) 393-2453. I will be close to the warehouse tomorrow morning and I could pick your order up but I was wondering what you had in mind for a time meet. I have a lot going on this weekend so it may be hard to schedule something.
  13. Yota, I was also skeptical about the extended drain intervals when I began using Amsoil products in my truck. I had been using it in bikes and found out about the extended drain intervals with the automotive oils and decided that I wanted to switch my 2005 Silverado over to Amsoil. At the time my truck had just over 15,000 miles on it. I put the Amsoil ASL-5W/30 in it with an Amsoil filter. Because I do not do all highway driving (light duty)and I tow trailers often I decided to go with Amsoils 15,000 mile oil change recomendation. I actually went about 2,000 miles over to 17,000 on the first Amsoil I put in. I was also hauling trailers often and hauling ass with trailers. When I took the truck in to get the oil changed I had the mechanic take a sample of the oil. I sent the sample to a lab to be anylyzed. The lab results confirmed that the oil with over 17,000 miles was still in spec for a 5W/30 motor oil. They did say it was getting toward the lower end of the specified viscosity range and would need to be changed fairly soon but still in spec. Ever since then I have been doing 15,000 mile oil changes on my truck. I have 102,000 miles on the truck now. No problems. It's very nice to change my oil once for every 5 oil changes I was doing with conventional oil. Less waste oil to deal with also. Most people really don't fit into the light duty category as specified by Amsoil for the 25,000 mile oil changes but hey, even at 15,000 miles you are saving a lot of time and money while getting better protection for you vehicle. It is important to use an Amsoil filter when choosing extended drain intervals.
  14. Nice to meet you too Jagr and thanks for listening to my sales pitch. I don't think I will be able to make the OR Meet & Greet this weekend but I appreciate you giving me the heads up on the event. Have to help my inlaws prepare for a move this weekend. Hopefully I can make the next one. If you are looking for that motorcycle oil study that I was showing you at Iron Pony, it is online. Here is a link where you can download the new updated "Motorcycle White Paper". It is a good read for anyone interested in knowing how various motorcycle oils performed in a variety of tests.
  15. It is a sweet deal if you plan to use Amsoil in your motorcycle and automotive applications. Amsoil's superior protection and extended drain intervals can definitely save you time and money. If your looking to purchase oil for one motorcycle and changing your oil on an annual basis then you are probably better off purchasing at an Amsoil retailer like Iron Pony or one of several other Amsoil motorcycle oil retailers in and around Columbus. The Pony even has a service department now with the addition of Yamaha of Columbus. Their service department will do the work for you while you shop for huge savings on all kinds of factory close outs. How can you beat that Casper? If your not close to the Pony check out one of these other Amsoil Retailers in or around Columbus.
  16. There are two ways for Ohio Riders members to get set up with the Free Amsoil Preferred Customer Trial Membership offered by Modern Synthetics. 1. Call me or send me a Private Message with the following information: Name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Once I have this information I will submit it to Amsoil in order to activate the account. Once I have received confirmation that your account is active I will contact you with your account number. Once that is done you can place orders online or you can call me and I will place the order for you. This method has no cost to you upfront but takes a couple of days. 2. Quicker Method - You can click this link: "Preferred Customer Registration" Then you select a 6-Month PC Membership ($10) or 1-Year PC membership ($20) and hit "Add to Cart." Once you have done that you can view the wholesale pricing for the various products and add them to your shopping cart and then check out. You will pay for the Preferred Customer membership at this point but once I see the account is set up and a $50 initial purchase is made, I will immediately send you a check for $10. With both of these methods you also have the option to have the products delivered to your home or you can pick them up at the warehouse or I will meet you in Sunbury with your items. I will gladly meet people in the evening also in the event that you cannot get to the warehouse during regular business hours.
  17. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I got tied up with a couple other things. Just got off the phone with Amsoil Corporate. The way to do it online would be to go to this link "Preferred Customer Registration" Select the length of membership 6-month or 1-year and click "add to cart" after that you can browse the different items and the wholesale prices. Add what you want to the cart and then checkout. If you want to avoid shipping charges and want to pick your order up at the warehouse then you will need to be careful when you get to the "Shipping Address" screen. When you are prompted for the shipping address you will need to look for a box that allows you to "Pick up at warehouse" Check the box and you will have the option to select the warehouse. Select Columbus, OH and then you will see whether the items you ordered are in stock or not. If it is just oil and most oil filters it should be in stock. Once I see your account has been set up and an order is placed for $50 or more of products(freight and PC registration do not count toward $50 purchase) I will send you a check for $10 to reimburse you for the 6-month trial or half the 1-year membership. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call.
  18. If any of you are not interested in purchasing at wholesale and would rather walk in a retail store please check out this map of Amsoil Retail locations in and around Columbus. FYI: Iron Pony is now selling Amsoil. They did not carry it until recently. Many people have gone in Iron Pony looking for Amsoil and they have been turned away, not any more. You can even go into Yamaha of Columbus and have your oil change done by them with Amsoil Lubricants. They also service Harleys and carry Amsoil Severe Gear for the Harley transmissions so don't be afraid to take your American Iron there for an Amsoil oil change. Other Amsoil Retailers on the map are Cycle Search International, Delaware - Olive Green Cycle Works, Sunbury - Adrenaline Performance, Lancaster. Coming soon - Pro Fab ATV, Carroll
  19. As a preferred customer or dealer anyone can walk in the Columbus warehouse to place and/or pick up orders. You cannot however go to the warehouse to purchase at retail or to sign up as a Preferred Customer or Dealer. In the past you could not place orders there, only pick them up. They have changed it now so you can walk in and place your order there and generally you will walk out with it right then. I would call ahead though before driving far to make sure they have the item you want in stock. FYI: The warehouse only accepts credit cards and checks, NO CASH TRANSACTIONS. Otherwise, you can order online and then when you get to the shipping screen there is a button for "Pick up at warehouse" once you check that box a drop down will appear with all the different warehouse locations. Select Columbus Ohio and you are good to go. BEWARE - If you do not select "Pick up at warehouse" the order will be shipped to your home and you WILL incur shipping charges.
  20. I do have a site and I will provide you with a link in just a bit. I want to double check one thing with Amsoil Corporate but they are at lunch right now. I'll get back to you in about an hour with the information and the easiest way to get set up.
  21. Wholesale on 4 quarts of Amsoil 10W/40 motorcycle oil would be $32. If you only need 4 quarts for your bike you can make up the rest of the $50 with an oil filter or some of our great automotive oil. It will save you time and money with extended drain intervals and extend the life of your vehicle. It's a WIN-WIN situation. Let me know if you need any additional info.
  22. Ben,

Am I able to delete posts? I went to the edit section but do not see anything for deleting. I made some posts before I new how to add the quote and would like to delete them if possible. Please let me know. Thanks.

  23. I have been told by Amsoil's Tech Services department that the shelf life should be around 5 years if stored out of direct sun light and in a fairly stable temperature. The way to tell if it goes bad is to look for separation of the chemicals. You should be able to see this through the clear strip on the side of the quart containers if it were to go bad.
  24. That's one way to get the wholesale pricing. If you do that please use this link to access the "Preferred Customer Registration". Once you click add to cart you can click on the oils and you will see the wholesale price. Amsoil dealer are paid on a commission basis so using this link assures that I receive credit if anyone decides to sign up as a Preferred Customer.
